I have the exact same. Someone reported that it happened for them after they ran too fast away from Rytlock and he bugged out to and that bugged the whole instance for them, which happened to me too, and it stayed bugged.

PW is a decent trait on its own. The change idea for RT is mostly out of the inconvenience of having to take 3 tracks to GM. The potential for synergy with Ranger shouts with boons and Trooper runes has been there a long time, but was always clunky. Annoying to have to be pushed all the way into BM to get the shout trait. This coming from a WvW zerging perspective, where pets turn useless, so the majority of the BM line is redundant, but the non-pet effects have some synergy. The other option would be to go the other way. Make the shouts more pet centric, make RT give pets addition specific buffs. Sic ‘Em giving fury and might, Search and Rescue giving Quickness, Protect Me giving Protection and Resistance.
I miss the time when Natural Vigor was a full 50% endurance regen. It shouldn’t need another trait to buff it, but it needs buffing back up. Looking closely the notes take it down to 20% from 25%. Suggestion comes out of needing a trait that fits that line, that does something different (choosing between condi removal and condi removal), and it sits in line other changes Anet has with Soothing Mist on Ele and the move of Battle Presence on guard. Perhaps giving Signet of the Wild passive to allies would be more appropriate. I maintain that EB should be in BM perhaps reducing it to 1 condition each 5s, but your pet gains a boon or heals as well each time.
It might be better to have 2HT and Strider’s separate, but for theme, just a GS trait doesn’t fit in BM, with no connection to a pet, same with Honed Axes. I get the impression that those are stuck in there to try and incentivize people to take BM for non-pet reasons.

So I made a thread with my impressions and suggestions, I guess posting it here would be useful too.

So the new trait/specialisation changes are announced, and something seems off to me.
For a class that is thematically based around interacting with nature, and having beast as pets, the Nature Magic and Beastmastery lines seem like utter trash with these changes.

Aside from the one specific reason of a Spirit build, I see no reason why either of those lines would be taken over the others. If anyone has a good reason why those would be taken, please share.

Annoyingly, Resounding Timbre is stuck down in Beastmastery. A trait which wasn’t necessarily deserving of being a Grandmaster as is, sure. A buffed up version of it with some additional effect would fit perfectly in the seemingly boon-oriented Nature Magic line, especially since removing the cast time on Guard!, and making you cast Search and Rescue on reviving an ally would maybe give shout Ranger a reason to come back stronger.

But with the specialisations requiring you to take 3 full lines, I don’t see any reason why (apart from the spirit niche) for people to take the very rangery Nature and Beast lines all the way to Grandmaster, it is simply a waste.

Suggestions:

  • Merge Resounding Timbre into Protective Ward. When you cast a shout, your pet casts Swiftness (15s) Regen (10s) and Protection (5s) to 5 allies, gains Aegis (5s) on itself and weakness (6s) on enemies. 15s ICD.
  • Honed Axes. Remove it, make it Baseline. Take Empathic Bond, and put it as a Beast Mastery grandmaster instead.
  • Consider a replacement Wildnerness Survival grandmaster that buffs Natural Vigor. Endurance regeneration up to 33-50% and gain Signet of the Wild passive for 6 seconds on dodge (15s ICD)
  • Reconsider what on earth Two-Handed Training is doing in Beastmastery. Merge with Strider’s Defense, linking the melee weapons together, to make an easy and viable choice.
  • Create some more interesting Pet traits. Things that happen when your pet meets certain requirements. When struck below 25% health your pet automatically casts its F2 skill. When your pet interrupts a foe, the skill it just used is cooled down 50% faster.

With the traits as they are, most rangers across all game modes are going to be in Marksmanship, Skirmishing and Wilderness Survival, regardless of weapon choice, gear and build.

Ranger Core Specialisation Changes

So I’ve been looking through the changes to the Traits in the Ranger Core Specialisations and some things seemed out of place to me.

Most obviously that Nature’s Wrath (Nature Magic Adept II) and Resounding Timbre (Beastmastery Adept III) seem to be in the opposite lines from what would be appropriate.

Nature Magic being very Boon heavy, sharing boons, increasing boon duration, and the new Warhorn trait granting Regeneration, this line seems like the place for Regen and Swiftness.

Beastmastery being all about your pet, that seems to be a more appropriate place for increased pet stats.

That being the most important suggestion to change the trait lines, there are others I have in mind for the Nature Magic line. The idea of merging Fortifying Bond and Lingering Magic to be the Master tier Minor Trait, and moving Bountiful Hunter (Adept I) to the Grandmaster Minor Trait. The trait I would suggest to replace Bountiful Hunter would be the old Strength of Spirit trait.
And reusing the old Circle of Life trait into the new Healer’s Celerity, to create a Healing Spring when you begin reviving an Ally (On some ICD, probably 40 seconds) and increase revive speed. This would make the trait actually viable to take, since an extra heal, and a water field on someone downed would give rangers some greater support utility, which they currently lack.

Signet of Courage
Passive: Very low base heal per tick, 50-100 base, but have it scale well with Healing Power (0.3-0.4x would feel well balanced in my opinion)
Active: 2-3 seconds cast time, 120-180 cooldown. Add some form of block or a single stack of stability while casting.

“Feel My Wrath”
1 second cast time, 240-300 cooldown. 5-8 seconds quickness, 30-40 seconds fury, Unblockable AoE knockback, blinds and burns on foes.

Nono, was yesterday at garri. We had maybe 10 people there at a certain point. And later only part of out of the walls, like 5 maybe. I think your group had 20 and you must be so proud of killing us :P

Sorry, could you speak up? I can’t hear you over the sound of all that siege you deployed. No harsh feelings of course, you did have major positional and siege advantage, and put up a kitten good fight. I arrived towards the end of what I was informed was an hours long siege.

Btw why duel event on windmill and not in jp arena, hmmmmm?

I guess the windmill is calmer. What I saw in the JP yesterday was no-one able to move through a swarm of BT. Not the biggest deal, it’s still a place to fight, but the point about the windmill is that there’s no reason to go there other than Duels.

I know, you can’t fight in wvw, so you fight here, I will check your mate on duel wait for his report about how bad pvp player I’m.

Just because you can’t fight in WvW, don’t extend that to our servers.
I know that you think WvW means blobbing your train into a door and rolling over any roamers in your path, but there are some people who want a skill based fight, not have to try and resist the power of your buddies’ 1 keys.

There are plenty of places where you can have small respectful duels in WvW. Hurrdurr, Vabbi BL Duel event was offered, Lrn2Read.

I’m not trying to insult because i’m sure there must be a lot of good players on your server but your general coordination and your builds are really lacking something. I play GS/Bow with almost full berserker armor and jewelry+melandru and I should not be allowed to run in front of our zerg and still survive the whole battle right beetween you guys!And believe me I would not do that against Drakkar or RoF because i’d be dead within the first 2 seconds my endure pain wears off

We don’t have too many good WvW dedicated guilds on our server, and a less than impressive server population in general, so you’ll run into a lot of pug zergs which are fairly poorly coordinated. And a lot of of player builds are aimed more for survival in small scale roaming, full zerkers don’t last nearly as long there, and back to the numbers thing, we don’t have the population to be able to reliably run a full zerker 60-100 man blob like higher tiers can do constantly.

At least RoS will have 6 matchups with at least 1 strong opponent, I feel sorry for Dzag, RoF and Drakkar who will have to endure half this league fighting ghosts.

Yeah, I’m sure they’re all hating having no-one to really fight because they don’t utilise their ability to run smaller groups. “Help, I’m stuck in this blob, and I can’t get out!”
