“HoD, the low ranked server is doing so well, who knew they could pull it all together!” It’ll likely fool non-WvW players. Because they can’t be that out of touch, can they?
might care to bring some light on this for an interested EU player? what happened there as for someone outside it really looks “exciting”
Heh. Hod is in a similar position to EU’s Gandara in silver. Both servers got stacked when they had free transfers. Not that it matters at this point, they ARE trying hard with their 100 ball zergs, making the best out of their situation. I mean, with 80-90 people ques per map, they must be trying to become the silver stack-gate
I’d say oil. Everything else I can work with. Oil gets taken out first under any competent commander. Once in a blue moon you have people who start building with oil still up, often with hilarious results. Other than that, other “useless” skills have more usage. Mercenary’s bane has a few uses, especially if a zerg fight spills over into a mercenary camp. Supply is vital, that’s why it costs 300 points, and usually is last to be maxed.
To Uholey, either the commander must be really careless for not focusing down cannons and oil first, or the mesmer that ported the golems RIGHT UNDER while people are still focusing down oil needs to be fired.

I hope FA wins silver. Rooting for them or YB.
Only a WvW player knows the importance of losing gold upgrading to gain gold.
With 10 players defending against 60, they didnt even make siege. They forced their way in with ranged skills, while we had 4 ac, 3 cats, 1 treb to try to counter. Fat use any of that did. And yes, the tower was T3.
@TheLargeUnit Naw not a requirement, you’ll just see the regulars using them mostly, myself included. If you are hit by AC, no doubt it’ll be commanded by someone with siege mastery and ac mastery combined.
Well I’ll this time discuss HOD slightly more neutrally. Just fought them for 40-50 minutes in NSP garri. Only managed to dislodge us after a heated battle. Most of them were just wandering around in the middle. They had a spy too. 80 vs 30 of us. Yea They may have numbers, but their karma train might be their downfall, if they don’t let the regulars in come season for the higher tier battles like FA. Of course they can/are beat/beating us to a pulp with those numbers, but only through sheer numbers, it’ll be a time before their armies are organized.

You guys all regard HOD too highly. Their 30-60 + zerg currently is engaging 9 of us, and none of them are moving forward. All sticking back…we were never overwhelmed in the 10 minute battle. In a camp battle. Sure they took the camp, but they should have crushed us, but didn’t due to incompetent commander. Also they can’t bleeding take our EB keep as long as we have 8-10 people defending it. They had a 40+ Zerg with Omegas. We killed the omegas and drove them away. Are you serious. In a pitched battle, they wouldn’t last for waste product of eating. Sure they have numbers, but they are nowhere going to take first. Not a wild card, their Zerg is more uncoordinated than NSP.
That being said. The ranking isn’t that far off.
1. FA
2. SBI
3. YB
4. IOJ
5. Toss up between CD and NSP and HOD (HOD prolly 5th. Depends on how determined CD and NSP are in this case.)
6 Toss up between CD and NSP and HOD
7 Toss up between CD and NSP and HOD
8 BP or SOR
9 BP or SOR

See? You guys can do it if you try ?
And they are leaving….why. Think kitten the lesson of SOR and their “elitism” Arius. Now they are a ghost server. You and I have to ask ourselves this then. Why have no major NSP guilds left? Why are we so consistent? Why do our regular PvE people come in, from time to time to help? It’s because we appreciate the help. We don’t snap at them “why the kitten are you in pve get yo lazy bum over here.” Co-erce them to be part of a greater thing.
One last thing. And this is my final say on this. I respected Darkhaven. I really did. For 5 weeks, when we were in dead last in most of times. I thought “what a worthy rival.”
We are getting hit bad, and were outnumbered most of time. The groups that usually just do PVE went back to do PVE, and only the regulars were in there, defending against an endless tide. We didn’t break. Each reset night, our guilds would ask if any PVE had time to assist us. These “so called pugs” I watched fight your zergs. Sometimes we won. Mostly, we lost. But these “untrained Pugs” you were talking about Arius, they stopped a 60 man FC zerg in their tracks. Three times. That was three times, they allowed the regular upgraders to get the time needed to fortify towers and the keeps. They are more important than you can ever consider, you and I, especially in our so called “low tier” battles.
And now, now you guys dare to make a thread called “DH dying we are so doomed”. Forget it, you aren’t even able to be considered our rivals after that stunt. I even saw a recruitment thread with flat sentences, monotone. Please. Help. Us. And that was it. Are you serious?
Where are your non-pug zergs then. Don’t call them pugs. It’s insulting to your own people. On NSP, I scold those who call our fellow-to arms Pugs. Them and Us. NO, sure there are regulars, like me who wvw everyday. But, those who come in to assist, I would never call PUGS. That’s just insulting Arius. Respect your fellow combatants more. Where will your server be when the “pugs” leave? I am quite certain I was, a so called “pug” once, just like you were this …half baked conception of a thing called a “pug”.
Everyone started new, and everyone knows what it felt like to be steamrolled. DH beat us 5 weeks in a row. I do remember that well. And now, you guys made a topic titled “DH, dying?” Don’t kid yourselves. Reminds me of SOR’s we play for fights threads.
If you are going to treat your fellow servermen as “useless untrained pugs”, small wonder they will leave you. I don’t need to argue any further, we both have our points that was well said. But from my point of view, I don’t believe I was lying, just from my perception of the events of this morning.
I agree with Dinks. Nsp this morning just took SM from DH who had wrested it overnight. Then a 30 man zerg from DH went to take it back. Guess what we did. We went to DH BL and took your garrison with 25-30 people.
You should of been able to stop us. By the time your zerg came back, your doors were down, and you have the spawn advantage. It was about a even numbered fight with 30 vs 30. Guess what, your unorganized zerg got hit. Hard. You can blame it all you want on transfers, but I would kitten your inner leadership instead. When we were trebbing DH bay. We didnt just stand around and stare while our two trebs were firing. Our tagged commander led us on running a tight stack/formation follow him drill. Our numbers are more even then you think. Your losing spirit will only serve to make your server spiral downwards. Even when we were in silver, we fought, and fought hard. We learned to drill, and we learned to fight against overwhelming odds.
And when you attacked our keep in EB, and was near capping it, we stopped you. Guess why? On TS, our commander was alerted to the impending invasion, and we were able to come back in time to save it. As soon as we hear the call, everyone drops what they were doing, and rushes to save the high tiered structures. You didn’t save your BL garri like that. You guys took SEVEN minutes to respond. SEVEN. That’s a death sentence. You didn’t even have siege going at your gate.
Sure we do have big zergs at certain times, but your servers have big zergs at certain times too. Even when you have 40-60, quite kittenbeaverbuilt useless if your 40 is an unorganized mess, and our 20-30 just steamrolls you with less numbers because we ram into your thin, unorganized, unmotivated kittens.
By the way, most of us regulars in WvW won’t mind silver. Everyone’s quite excited to be able to fight numerically superior foes, it’ll test our server’s resolve. Look at us, near dead last in Silver season one. Did we tank? NO, we learned, and grew instead. Unlike Kaineg, who tossed their last match against us before seasons. Look at them now. They are LAST.
Straal Warbinder- Hrm Charr-like… Hrmmmmmm Takes out chainsaw* If I mangle your name more, it’d be PERFECT 9/10
I’m Yan The Feral, I don’t care what imposter humans think of my name, I solve everything with shears chainsaws surgical equipment. Ask my guild-mates, they often say “who let the charr out of the cage again?!”
My server has 20-30 people. On a good day we have 40-50. For all our maps. On our non-coverage hours we number 10-20 or less. NSP. Yet we can fight 60-70 zerg armies, 100+ map combined. We use TS. We encourage players to come in to assist. We tag up when there are no leaders, so main commanders do not become burned out, and in the process, some new commanders emerge, like me. And we are often outnumbered, but we are USED to it. That means we can fight as a cohesive group. We have blobs sometimes, but we tell the blob what to do. Each member has a special tactic they can do, and use their class well. We have strike teams that peel off to take camps. We have diversion teams who tap waypoints. We have pride. NSP pride.
That’s not even remotely close to true… Your server, I have witnessed, field 2-3 zergs of 30-40 each (easily). OS and Zos will together, alone, easily build a 40 man zerg, and then you have your super dominant (for our tier) eb zerg of around that size as well (bare minimum). This is the reality I faced against you every night during primetime. You’re a very zergy server. Dh is too, but we don’t hide from that fact.
We have outnumbered very often when we were versing you guys :o But yes Zergs exist
Guess we are on diff times XD
And plus you beat us for 5 weeks, then we beat you for 2 >:3 so it’s all fine and dandy

Honestly, I find ever since my world NSP went into Silver league, we came out much stronger. I was wvw lv 40, and we came near dead last. However, even though we are outnumbered often, we hit hard when we can, and our rank has been steadily rising because of it. In the long run, coordination and actual working together with the entire server encourages people to play, and play well. Because I was so inspired by our performance, I am now in the wvw 300s, and a surly commander
We don’t need crappy tactics like buying servers or looking down on PVE people. People naturally will come to us if we try, and have good commanders.
