Sometimes I feel like mobs hit too hard or respawn too quickly. Like I was making my way into a cave to get a skill point and I would be making progress but then mobs behind me would just respawn really fast and all gang up on me and kill me. I think that could be tweaked at least a little.
I don’t see how roleplayers effect anything at all.
Whether it’s raiding or something else I believe this game needs some sort of end game PvE content. Not everyone wants to do PvP forever. Some people are turned off of the raiding idea because they automatically compare it to WoW. This isn’t WoW. Nothing Anet does is going to be exactly like WoW. If they come out with some sort of raiding I’m sure they will make it their own.
I like the dodging in this game, gives it a bit of a console game feeling. However I am not really a big fan of the downscaling of my character when entering certain zones. I don’t like going back to being weak when I worked hard to get strong. Maybe that’s just me though.
I hate to compare with WoW but it’s kinda the same thing there. You hardly ever see people talking in general chat anywhere other than the main cities. Although in Gw2 I think more people would have more reason to communicate.. As questing and what not can actually be challenging.
It’s kinda sad but maybe that’s just how MMOs are now a days?
I’m on Tarnished Coast. I see people here and there while leveling. I hear some people have a hard time picking the server due to how big it is.. I never had any issue.
It’s also the unofficial RP realm, if you’re into that.
Eh, welcome to the world of MMOs. There will always be jerks in game.. Just like real life. :/
Seems like a big of a design flaw though. Shouldnt be able to kick until everyone gets a chance at loot.
I do notice the community in game is a little quiet… But then again that might just be me being new and shy. I dunno much about the game yet so I dont have much to talk about.
However I really like the cooperative gameplay Gw2 has. When people band together to do a hard quest or big boss fight it’s basically the same as being grouped together. We’re working together and no one has to miss out.
Curious. Have you ever tried to spark a conversation?
One thing Gw2 is missing a true Druid class in my opinion. Or rather a class dedicated to shapeshifting. I know Norn do some shapeshifting but Norn isn’t a class so I’m not counting them. ;3
I’d defiantly try out the Guardian. They got a little of everything it seems.
Also I’m really enjoying my ranger with a melee offset. It’s something I always wanted in WoW. xD
Ohh sweet. I’ll take a look next time Im on then.
Thanks.
I don’t see why people are so against ground mounts. Mounts bring a whole new dimension to an MMO. Who doesn’t like to collect cool looking mounts? Gives you something to work towards, something to look forward to. And can also bring Anet some money with buyable mounts that just look unique.
I would agree with the way pvp is in this game I would not have mounts for in those instances. I haven’t tried WvW yet so I dunno about that.
This world is huge and beautiful… But again, huge. Waypoints are a nice option but can really get in the way of the mmo feeling.
I for one love mounts, I love collecting them too. I hope they come up with lots of cool and unique creatures, not just horses.
I personally dont have much problem with flying mounts but I’d be fine never seeing them in this game.
Hello,
When I’m playing I constantly find myself turning my eyes up towards the corner of the screen where I expect to find a clock.. and there’s not lol.
Is there a in game clock toggle or something that I am unaware of?
I’d consider them a sexual type thing. If my female Charr were looking at males she would find the one with the big bad horns far more attractive than the male only able to grow baby horns. >w<
Perhaps it’s the same with the males. Perhaps not the size of the females horns but the shape, strength or sharpness? Who knows. I imagine most Charr men prefer the more fierce and strong looking ladies. Don’t want to be shamed with a wimpy cub.
Although I think it’d be really cool to see two male charrs headbutting each other.
Same reason we have wisdom teeth and fingernails? They just never lost them
We use our fingernails to scratch ourselves.
Most I can find is that they said they dont want it to feel like a grind to get there. Which I agree with but I’m sure they could make it unique somehow.
I am not pessimistic about this games future. I am merely giving my opinion on what I can see right NOW. I really like this game so far, I just want it to appeal to everyone. That’s all.
I will take a look at that interview, though.

From what I can see the biggest complaint right now is a lack of end game for PvErs. That is not a little thing, something you can just shrug off and find something else to do. Not if your main interest is PvE. So what other choice do people have other than go and find some other game?
Because expansions never happen? You guys want years’ worth of content in a new release and then freak out when it’s not there. Would you like to pay ANet millions more so they can produce that content, since you magically expect it to manifest from some lost dimension of time and money?
I hope to see end game pve content in the future. I don’t expect to see it tomorrow. But in the nearish future would be nice.
However I am not new to MMOs and I know if it stays like this Gw2 probably wont go very far
I simply want Gw2 to become my new home mmo.

read the op, why do you think his 30 guild mates quit and went back to other games? why have so many others reported guilds losing majority of members back to other games?
They’re the same folks who do this in every new game. What they need to do is stop doing this, and instead tell WoW that they want their graphics upgraded. That way, us fans of games that are not WoW will stop seeing our devs getting jerked around by fairweather folks who say they want something different but really don’t.
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to see the game evolve and adapt. You may not care about people leaving but I’m sure AN will when their game is no longer profitable. Having no sub fee is great but it’s also dangerous. Would you like to see Gw2 fail? Probably not. How can Anet make it not fail? By listening to it’s player base.

As for content being exclusive, it’d still be far harder to craft a legendary than it would be to get 10-20 players together a few times a week and get a dungeon set
No, it’s not harder. That is why raiders are such a small minority, because getting 20 people with various lives and obligations is a pain. That’s why most games, WoW included, have been moving toward the ten-man system instead. Even ANet saw the problem after its own versions in GW1.
I’ll agree with this. While some people still do 25m raiding in WoW I find it totally unnecessary and annoying. Kudos to people who pull it off but I don’t think it’s really what this game needs.
If they came out with 10m raiding for Gw2 I would personally be very happy.
I’m really enjoying my personal story and dont even mind questing… Which is amazing considering I absolutely hated questing in WoW lol.
Well, that’s because it’s not really questing. It’s not talk to NPC, go do specific boring stuff, and go all the way back to the NPC, which is probably what you hated.
Cheers.
Well, in terms of the actual tasks you are performing its really not THAT unique.
And sometimes I notice the amount of time a task can take can feel a little grindy or drawn out.
If I am to be honest.
But yeah, still having fun. Despite what AN said for years you can not completely cut out grind in an mmo. I’m used to it.
Honestly I’ll probably be keeping my WoW around for raiding, I suggest the same for you. I hope this game comes out with some sort of end game for PvErs, though.
I only just started playing and I am having fun. However I am not new to MMOs. I think the lack of competitive end game PvE is a mistake and I think they will need to come up with something else to keep people interested. For now I am taking my time and learning the game. I’m really enjoying my personal story and dont even mind questing… Which is amazing considering I absolutely hated questing in WoW lol.
Personally I think they need to fix the lack of end game content before making ‘end game’ harder or longer to achieve.
Honestly I think AN needs to come up with something more for PvE.
If they want people to actually stick around they need some sort of raiding, something a guild can do together in groups of 10/25 people or whatever. There is 3 types of people in mmos. The raiders, the pvpers and the casuals. The casuals being the people who are happy to quest and do things like that without being competitive in any aspect of the game… And that’s fine.
However I believe they need to offer more. There needs to be end game content. It doesn’t have to be like WoW, make it unique. But when PvErs get to max level what is there for them currently? Not much. So they will quit.
Hello, I just purchased this game and right now I am trying to figure out how to keybind my spells to the buttons on my mouse. I’ve got the WoW Cataclysm Gaming mouse and I was told it should be able to work in Gw2
I know how to get into the keybinding but when I try to keybind to a button on the mouse nothing happens. Oddly enough two of the buttons on the mouse do work. All I have to do is click them into the box and it comes up as ‘Mouse 4’ or ‘Mouse 5’
If anyone has any suggestions I’d really appreciate it.
My sister wanted to buy the digital deluxe version of the game in the store tonight so she could play with me but she keeps getting an error saying “the credit card information you have entered is invalid”.
She has tried multiple credit cards, so it is not an issue with that.
When she tries Paypal she gets an error saying “something went wrong”.
I have read on google that this is most likely an issue with the website itself, and that only someone from GW2 can fix it. Live Chat is unavailable for some reason, so she submitted a ticket.
Her boyfriend also tried it with his email and credit card and it also did not work.
Not sure what else to do. It’s a shame, we really wanted to play tonight.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
