Best healer class

in Players Helping Players

As other people said already: You wanna go with ranger aka druid, if you want to be a healer at the current state of the game. You will still need some damage builds for playing alone in Open World, Dungeons or low-tier Fractals (kind of Mini Dungeons which are a big part of the instanced end game PvE, besides Raids).

Healing is barely single targeted in this game, meaning you have to use a lof of AoE spells for healing and need to consider the boss mechanic, moving patterns of the boss as well as your party members while also buffing all the time and dealing with all the mechanics of the encounter.

Best condition gear non-HoT?

in Players Helping Players

Valandor.9506

Well, if you do not even have the time to play a meta on a HoT map, some LS3 content or WvW/PvP aka one hour on the piece at any day, you should maybe consider a different kind of game than a MMORPG.

Except for that, yeah, sinister is the next best thing for condi damage builds.

The Ascension Legendary Back Item question...

Yes, you need at very least 60 days for that – probably even several PvP-seasons.

“[…] just to get a Back Item?”
It is a legendary after all.

Raid decos are kitten easy and fast to get. Therefore I would not pay more than 30s per.

Do you use the 64bit-Client (which I would highly recommend)?
If yeah, then use “*\Gw2-64.exe” instead. It might be, that your profile is optimized for the 32bit-exe, but you are using the 64bit-exe.

Look in the LFG at the right time (http://dulfy.net/2015/11/09/gw2-hot-maps-timer-famme/) at evening or afternoon (on weekends), because then most players tend to do the meta there.

Compared to other metas it takes longer, is “harder” and also less rewarding, that is why you do not see so many people running ist.

Returning Player - Profession Choice

in Players Helping Players

Well, Necromancer is pretty strong in WvW, PvP and open world stuff. For dungeons as well as raids he is not even close to being the most wanted profession there. In random/pug fractals he is good till a certain level, but all in all Necromancer is not really a group supporter compared to other professions.

GW2 has kinda just two real casters in PvE: Necromancer and Elementalist. The latter has more DPS and because of AoE heals and special spells like “Rebound” better party support, but he also is more glassy.

In GW2 there is not really a caster with good DPS, support and survivability at the same time (would be a balance breaker), so you kinda have to choose.

Staying alive via dodging and alike can be trained, but your damage und utility has a maxium. That is why I prefer to play Elementalist.

Hey,

try to look into the software, if you really choose the right .exe for which your settings were made. At least that is where many fail. Can not tell you more from the current information. Of course you should be sure to use the latest versions and so on.

Alternative, not sure if you tried that already:
1. Bind your spells to normal buttons like e.g. 0-9
2. Get the tool “X-Mouse Button Control”
3. Bind the buttons of 1. on your mouse buttons in the tool
(you may need to change some settings in the tool, look on the website for further instructions)

Good luck.

Phospholuminescent Infusion(Power) available!

You guys know this new halloween infusion called Phospholuminescent Infusion, I guess? The problem was, that until today there was only the condition version available in TP and the game itself as it seemed, but suddenly this night/morning the power version appeared in the TP – not only once, instead 6 times (now). So we got 0 for like one week and then 6 in like few hours. That does not seem like coincidence, right? I guess, ANet changed something within their databank for fixxing it, so that is why there was no patch (short version of explanation).

Maybe I am missing out something, what do you think?

However, now it seems to be available, so feel free to open the bags to share the style (and to get your gold)! ö_ö

Aranet should create a lobby for dungeons.

To be honest I have never seen this (EU), except for one time when the LFG bugged a lot.

Ah, ye good olde days before LFG, when people actually had to travel to the dungeon they wanted to play and talk to people. It used to be like 30+ people in front of CoF – and that was when we didnt even have megaservers. Now its a ghost town.

Obviously I mean the time after LFG introduce.

Some people actually standby in front of dungeon entrances to form their group there.

To be honest I have never seen this (EU), except for one time when the LFG bugged a lot.

Maybe Aranet could create a new building in Lion’s Arch and name it like Adventurers Guild or Explorer Society with its own zone inside the building. Where all dungeon goers could go to form a group there and port out together. As well as placing all the npcs that uses token.

ArenaNet already stated, they stop developing (for) dungeons for now on and only focus on fractals and raids. Because of this I doubt they will ever introduce something like this. Furthermore it is not necessary. So far I never had issues to find people for what I wanted to run as dungeon. Also there is already a NPC who combined all the NPCs together. How to do it easier? All in all people run by far less dungeons than before HoT, because 1. most people, who want to, have already all the skins; 2. ArenaNet nerfed the gold rewards a lot; 3. in addition to the 2. point, we also have a mild inflation and 4. fractals give by far more gold after the changes of HoT.

If you want to run dungeons, ask in your guild (or find a good one) and form a dungeon party for “rushing” dungeons. This mostly works fine for me. You can also find such parties in the LFG sometimes, or form your own one starting in the LFG of a more famous dungeon.

White Mantle weapons

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Valandor.9506

You are right, you need to go raids for them.

I would advice this and the intern links.
All in all they are hardcore dungeons for 10 people.

For the weapon skins you need to kill the last boss of the 2. and 3. wing at least once for unlocking the vendor (they can also drop the skins) and then farm the raid currency for buying the skins.

You can buy raids, yeah, but a raid boss kill costs 100-300g (depending on guild selling and boss).

Still any questions? =)

Thank you for your reply.
So once I’ve done the Raid Wing 2 and 3, I will be unlocking the vendor who are Selling these weapons of White Mantle?
I saw that all the weapons got added for the White Mantle weapons, such as rifle.. staff.. horn.. bow etc.

Are all the weapons in this vendor or can you find them somewhere else aswell?
I’ll try to get a right build, gear and everything to make it to a Raid team and hopefully I’ll get the weapons soon,
Or I’ll just see if I can find a runner,

Yeah, after killing Matthias Gabrel you unlock the skins at the vendor from the Salvation Pass (2. wing) and after killing Xera you unlock the skins at the vendor of the Stronghold of the Faithful (3. wing). Each of these vendors has different skins. You can get a maximum of 150 Shards per week from events and boss kills + the ones you get from exchanging minis and salvaging asc. drops from the raids.

You can only buy them or get them via drops of bosses (Mostly Matthias and Xera, but saw already skin drops at Keep Construct as well).

Just do not underestimate raids. Prepare well with the right metabuild (asc. gear) and read guides as well as watch videos. Maybe try your first raids with friends or a guild instead of randoms (LFG), because you will mostly miss the requirements.

Good luck. ^^

When you set up for this build, do you need to use ANOTHER scepter for your Set #2 main-hand?

Nope.

do you just leave it empty and it will carry over when you weapon swap?

Yes.

IF you leave it empty, does it give you any disadvantages?

Nope.
