I agree. The decision to dump fractals, an endless dungeon with unique rewards, in the middle of the main hub city of the game, was the worst one they could have ever made. A massive amount of the population has decided to ignore all other content but the fractals now, and they’re all funneled in the same place. There needs to be more incentive to push those players back out into the game world rather than keeping them in the All Needs Met biodome of Lions Arch.
It’s a big game, and therefore you’d think there would be ROOM for us.
When you see the response to the feedback, you go ahead and let us know Valkie
You’re adorable
I am not a fan of the B2P or F2P model for exactly this reason. In a subscription MMO you can say, with a fair amount of certainty at least assuming they’re not a blatant gold buyer, that if someone has a rare or otherwise prestigious item, they earned it. Because you can basically just buy anything you want in GW2, my first assumption upon seeing someone with a legendary isn’t “wow, he’s really dedicated to the game and put a lot of effort into that, cool!” and is instead “this guy spent waaaaay too much money on gems, feh”.
Legendary items in this game are pointless as they are now. Why go through the effort when some kitten can just buy one.
The last thing we need is MORE incentive for people to go/stay at Lions Arch. The travel fees are also incredibly trivial. I don’t know why there’s so much chatter about a minor gold sink. The only way they would be in any way substantial is if you are using waypoints far more than is reasonable, in which case, you’re paying for that privilege.
4, I’m doing just fine. Seriously, this community whines way too much about everything. It’s a big game and it doesn’t revolve around you. Change and reacting to feedback takes more than the hour turnaround from deployment to people kittening about it on the internet.
The only asura I have right now is a low level alt I’ve barely played, but even on my other character this issue is pretty apparent and has put me off wanting to spend much time with the alt. More or less anything an asura is wearing will never be seen because it’s hard enough to see them, and their weapons are so scaled down and misaligned that they often look invisible to uninteresting. I don’t want to see them with comically oversized weapons, but readjusting them so they look positioned better at least (like the photoshopped pictures) and maybe scaled up a bit more would be a good start.

Ouroboros is a close-knit community of gamers, friends and family. While we spend a fair amount of time playing a variety of games, we also enjoy sharing our creative passions, ideas and assorted musings. We support a wide variety of both players and play styles and encourage everyone to utilize their individual talents and skills in order to help shape the community for the benefit of all. We also invite visitors and friends from around the net to participate in the community; whether you’re a long-time ally looking to plan an event or a member of an opposing in-game group that wants to hang out and chat, you are always welcome. We believe in a philosophy that emphasizes mutual respect, personal responsibility, cooperation and compassion. Whether it’s in game, on the net or in real life, Ouroboros is all about having a good time, supporting one another and enjoying each other’s company.
About Ouroboros
We began originally, as a Dragon cabal for The Secret World in September 2009. Since then our community has grown and developed much more. Expanding not just into other games, but into other common interests. And we thrive on interacting with each other through them all, as a community, built on friendship, trust and respect above all. Encouraging our membership to share experiences and interests with us.
- We have members from across the globe in each continent. So most of our activities are not based or restricted to one time zone (with some possible exceptions).
- Although we are an international community, our common language is English. So members will be required to have some ability to communicate in it.
- In our gaming guild hosting side of things, we cover all areas of game play. PvE, PvP,RP are all encouraged, and supported, but none are mandatory. Our Steam, Xbox and Playstation groups, also have a mix of different sorts of games.
- We are an online community made by its members for its members. What this means is that each member has a voice in the community, and their input and ideas are both welcome and encouraged. So long as they are in keeping with the main intent and framework of Ouroboros. In turn this comes with a responsibility to our members to maintain the community.
- We actively create opportunities for our members to submit ideas, for projects and decisions on going forward and structure. During our creation, interested parties, submitted ideas of names, on which the top ones were chosen, and voted on. Ouroboros came out as the most popular choice. And became our name. This was also done with our logo, where members created their own designs, or found pictures they liked, and the submissions were put to a vote to our members.
- We have a strong desire to create ties with others, in a mutually beneficial and positive way. So our activities and friendships, are not just limited to ourselves. We engage in charity events. In gaming communities we establish a presence on, we are open to anything that builds and enhances that community. And have even helped arrange open activities with other online groups.
Server: Tarnished Coast (US). But, we accept players from all over the world. GW2 does not limit you to joining guilds of your own server either. So we can still welcome people from others.
Language: English
Activity Focus : PvE, PvP, WvWvW, RP is supported but optional
Dedication: Being community focused, we dictate no length of time or activity on our members. Though we have a core of very active players.
Voice Chat: Mumble (currently). Recommended but not essential. Details are on our site or by request to an existing member.
How to Apply
Please visit our site and thoroughly read our guidelines of conduct here. After doing so select “Recruitment” at the top of the site, and fill out the application. Once done you will be given prospective member status. During this time we will all get to know each other. Typically it can take two weeks to become full member. But this will vary depending on activity.

I don’t have a lot to add that hasn’t already been said, but I will always support a push for housing. It’s an overlooked feature that can benefit the game in so many ways (better crafting, increased player retention, better economy/trading, better “world feel”, etc) As someone who enjoys combat in MMOs but stays for the social/ancillary elements I was really disappointed at how throwaway the home instances were. I’ve spent a few hundred hours in-game and I’ve spent maybe 15minutes of that time in my home instance. If GW2 did get a proper housing system, I could see myself sticking around for quite some time. As it stands, I’m actually looking at other games that have housing/are implementing housing with the primary thing standing in the way being that they’re usually not as polished or too grear/raid focused as well (I’ve given serious consideration to Rift recently with Dimensions but their implementation of a lot of things seems rushed/clunky and there’s too much of a focus on instanced content).
Speaking of Rift and dimensions, that is another good reason why housing should be seriously considered. That is, the fact that the genre is starting to acknowledge housing again, and there is a fairly large group of the MMO community clamoring for a good game with good housing. Rift added Dimensions, Wildstar is touting their housing system, and Dragon’s Prophet being published by SoE is pushing housing as one of it’s big features. As I said before, player housing is fantastic for player retention, and if you want players to feel invested and part of your world, there’s no better way to do that than by giving them a small piece of it to call their own.
