Forgot to mention you can post here as well. I am friendly and like to joke around a lot. In real life I am a 23 year old college student.
Hello eveyone,
My character’s name is Pîku. I am a level 80 ranger who is looking for a good PvE guild to do Fractals/dungeons/possibly some PvP when we are bored.
I have 35AR, am on lvl 39, have 1250 hours play time, and have Kudzu (not boasting, just trying to emphasize that I am not a noob). If you have a guild that does lvl 1-40 fractals on a daily basis, whisper me in game I’d be happy to join your ranks. Thanks
Good guild and a good group of people. I have had a lot of fun in the last 3 months I’ve been in OF
Make it so that the # of people who can join a game scales.
Ex. Let’s say the max right now is 100 on each team. Make it so that the max number of people who can join on each team is the average of all 3.
This will balance things out imo. Any opinions?
I find this upsetting. After donating $200+ dollars (yes, I will admit it) to buying gems, that I am still getting this error. Not only am I getting this error, but there is no real response from Anet on this issue, even though it is one of the most (if not the most) replied to thread on connection issues. None of the fixes have worked for me. It has been proven that it’s on Anet’s end. I understand they have a lot on their plate in terms of bots/hackers/bugs, but shouldn’t connections issues be a priority too?
Why haven’t we heard from anyone since one of the earlier pages?! This is really confusing! Do they even care about the people who support them? I hope they do but this thread has been going on for days and days and no real response from them..
sad face
“ANet bans bots all the time and new bots take their place. They don’t always ban accounts immediately after a report; they like to observe known bots for a while to document their behavior.”
While I do agree with you to some extent…I don’t think this is exactly right.
I remember one time I logged on at 8 am EST and saw a botter in gandarren fields (sp) farming small scales or something. That’s usually where I go to farm them when I need them. How did I know he was botting? He stood in the center of a shallow water area, and would run to the monster when it spawned, kill it, and run back to the exact same spot every time. That is clearly not human behavior. I watched him for 10 minutes and sent him a few tells (while competing for kills). No response, same pattern. I then reported him and left that area.
I come back after about…10 hours or so…same bot…same spot…same pattern.
Now, I know Anet has a lot on their plate right now, so I don’t really blame them all that much. Between all the bugs and all the connection issues, their team is probably working almost 24/7 trying to get things up and running for everyone. Delay is normal.
However…how many small scales do you think that bot made in that 10 hour period? How much gold? My guess would be a lot.
The problem is because rarer mats are in such high demand (people level faster than they can get them), that all someone has to do is bot and bam, they make a lot of money. That makes gold selling in GW2 even easier than in other games.
While I agree there would be no bots if people didn’t buy gold using real life money…if the bots weren’t there, there would be no gold to sell. Or at least that would seriously cut down on their profits.
Botting has just gotten out of control from what I’ve seen in the lower level areas. On my ranger I saw a group of 3 rangers, with random names like “sshhr” all with the same pets and same gear running around almost stacked on one another just using the same abilities at the same time. I don’t want to sound cold but I mean how long does it take for that kind of behavior to be seen as botting if 20-30 people (doing events around them) all report them around the same time.
If they are still in the same spot 10 hours later they are probably getting junk if any drops at all. Anti-bot code.
Well they are in the same area. It was rangers, so they run after the monster then run back so it’s not technically the same exact spot. It would always be a couple feet off. Even just junk, it adds up over 10 hours of time.
At this point I just want some kind of acknowledgement there is a problem from Anet. Even a simple “Guys, we really don’t know what the problem is but we have someone looking into this. Can’t give you an ETA on a fix at the moment.” would be fine.
This is one of if not the largest errors people are getting, with hundreds of people posting about it…many of them pointing out the fact that it is indeed on Anet’s end and we have yet to get a response. Eh, I don’t know.
I too, can vouch for this. I saw it as well. Kind of disappointing. That is some serious hacking to lag across the walls and over the water capping the orb in roughly 1 minute from one side of the map to the other.

I am getting very angry. I have tried all the fixes, even redownloaded the game. I am a Guild Leader and I cannot get in to lead my guild or manage the guild.
I feel your pain. While I’m not a guild leader, I have friends I want to play with/things I want to do. I’m a little annoyed at this point. I know Anet has other things to do (bugs to fix/etc), but they haven’t even discussed this issue. This makes it seem like it doesn’t even exist, and that bothers me. Even a simple “we know this exists and are working on it” would be fine.
People have shown the problem is on Anet’s end…this is one of the largest posts on the Tech Support forums and yet no one has come forward on Anet’s end to talk about it, except for someone asking where the people with the issue are from? That is really disappointing. :/
Replying again to note that I am still getting this issue only at peak times. I am a bit disgruntled at the lack of Anet acknowledgement on this issue. If their servers are the issue, this seems like a huge problem. For them not to say ANYTHING is kind of…idk…meh.
None of the fixes have worked for me either.

To the best of my knowledge it’s a problem on Anet’s end. I assume (hopefully) they are working on it. In the larger thread they have asked for more information from people, so that’s something. They have not released anything official yet though. There are a lot of bugs they are working on to try to get the game running the best it can and I hope this is up on their list.

Just know that you are not alone. There is a big thread currently up that has a lot of people with the same problem (including me). For now it looks like there is no real solution. I don’t know about you, but for me and many others it only happens during specific periods (for me it’s ~ 9PM – 4 AM EST)..which is kind of a bummer on weekends.
Some people give what they call temporary solutions. I’ve tried them but they didn’t work for me. :/
Temporary Solution!!!!!!
So I have been searching relentlessly for a solution. And have found one, which should work for everyone. It’s by no means a permanent fix, ArenaNet still needs to do it’s part and fix it, but this should work as a temporary solution to the problems we have been having.
First go to https://www.wtfast.com/ (it does cost, but you can get a 7 day free trial – so that’s 7 days of Guild Wars 2 until ArenaNet hopefully fix it.)
Sign up for the 7 day trial, make an account, download etc. When you open to the software make sure Guild Wars 2 is selected.
How this software works is that instead of connecting directly to ArenaNet servers (wherein lies the problem in our case) you connect to a private server, which doesn’t have a problem connecting to ANet servers, which connects to servers, and sends information back to you.
This method is usually used to lower your ping/latency as the providers servers are faster in response than those of ArenaNet’s, and luckily for us, works as a temp fix to our problem
There are other alternatives such as SmoothPing out there as well.
Hope this helped, it worked for me. Let’s hope that Arena fixes it within a couple more days!
But as I said, it’s by no need a permanent fix. We shouldn’t NEED to do this to be able to play a game. Especially if eventually it never gets fixed, and ends up costing us…
Remember you have to have this software running the WHOLE time you are playing Guild Wars 2. You can terminate the application process only when you are not in-game.

Tried this. It worked for me for a bit, but then I started to get the usual lag spikes and just now got D/Ced with the same error 7. :/ I play from the US. Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll continue to use it but based on this I doubt it will work >.<
Those of you playing from the US, what servers are you playing on?
Playing on Yak’s Bend
I’m playing from the US.
As an observation, via EST this doesn’t seem to be a problem until about 8 pm. I think it has something to do with server load but you guys probably have a better idea.
I have been getting this problem as well. It’s only happened over the last couple of days. It happens anywhere (in cities, wvw, solo missions, etc), and sometimes I lag for 10 or 20 seconds and then it either speeds up or I get the error.
Nothing is wrong with my router, anti-virus software, or internet connection. Everything else works fine. Pretty frustrating considering I’ve bought a fair amount of gems and spent a fair amount of time on my character. Game is basically unplayable at this point and nothing seems to make it better :/
I asked people in map chat (when I could stay on long enough) if they have experienced it. A few said yes. We discussed it and people think it’s due to an overflow of people connecting to the game? Who knows. Hopefully it will get fixed.
