Gandara Charr Male Scrapper, guild with the LIE ticker.
Wears white grey armor and just stands still confidently until somebody engages him, then plays great and wrecks!
Seen sometimes with a Gandara Human Female Druid, Salty Sea Dog title.
You two are hard to kill and it’s fun to bump into you every now and again!
Thanks guys!
I went cepter just for blocking on the move, I guess sword has nice evasion.
So I’m too much tank and not much else, how can I get to say, 50/50 tank support? I’m really not aiming for damage.
Should I go with mantra’s?
What about gear stats? thanks
P.s. I’ve been using the same GS build for years now, thus wanting to use entirely different skills :P
Hey, I’ve wanted to create a build that can survive a lot of damage, that uses the shield and wells. I would like to just survive in zergs and throw out a load of boons.
Before I start crafting armor, are there some suggestions anyone has for this build pls?
build is here:

No I didn’t disconnect either, I will submit a bug.
I had 48 Crystalline Ore, I got another 2 from Noxious Pods, but now somehow I only have 46. Where has my Crystalline Ore gone? I haven’t spent or used it on anything.
Hey, I’m wanting to play my 80 Ele in WvW but i don’t know which gear is good?
I would like to wear Celestial, because I like the idea of being ‘tanky damage’, a good D/D brawler.
But obviously it’s time gated.
What armor stats should I get to begin with? Thanks
PU indeed is a very good setup for general WvW’ing. Veil is the only real “requirement” in zergs and just so happens to be fit well with PU.
any nice PU build bro ?
I prefer power-PU. There are many existing threads about it. But, to get started this template should work nicely:
4: Empowered Illusions – Cleansing Conflagrations
4: Far-Reaching Manipulations – Deceptive Evasion
6: Debilitating Dissipation – Bountiful Interruption – PU
0:
0:Gear: Berserker’s
Runes: Traveler’s
Weapons: Sword/Torch + Greatsword or Staff
Utilities/Heal: Ether Feast, Decoy, Veil, Blink, Mass InvisSome power PU builds that don’t run Torch (instead using pistol) swap out Cleansing Conflagrations for Mender’s Purity.
Hey man this seems like a cool build, the idea is you keep stealthing whilst popping out phantasms right?
Is it hard to stay stealthed without torch? cheers!
Hi, I’m a returning player, I mained Thief when the game came out then switched to Mesmer, now I wish to return to Thief.
This is the build I was using years ago:
The idea is to have a ton of crit, and gain Might on dodging, also swiftness for travelling. But I think it is a bit outdated.
I would like to have a build with a lot of survivability, mainly from dodging and stealthing and evading, rather than building defensive stats.
Can anyone help improve the build? Or recommend another build? Thanks
Thanks guys, I was using a might-stacking shatter build before, I think I will try PU
Heya gang, I’ve just logged in after a long break and everything is different now.
Can anyone suggest me an easy WvW build I could use for general purpose?
Something not particularly geared towards solo roaming or zergfest, just something I could use for everything whilst I get back into the swing of things.
Cheers
Heavy 3.0 broken after 10th december patch.
Illusionary Invigoration moved to master level.
Can no longer take Illusionary Invigoration, Illusionary Elasticity, Illusionary Persona at the same time.
Thief has always been D/D nothing has changed, yeh people are trying new stuff but why bother when you can just go D/D and spam 1 skill to win.
I have an 80 Thief and an 80 Mesmer both fully geared, I can easily kill any class as Thief and when playing Mesmer there’s absolutely nothing I can do vs a Thief.
So frustrating to be 1 shotted by a player I can’t even see or target
Hello forum, I have retired my Thief who I played since release, and I’ve been playing Mesmer for the past month or so, and I am in love with the class. It’s easily the coolest class in MMORPG’s, and offers a bit more interesting and varied gameplay than Thief can offer.
I have been playing different versions of a shatter-Mesmer in WvW, experimenting with high crit and burst, and Might stacking etc. using S+P or S+F and Staff.
Whilst this has been fun so far, I’ve found it to be very difficult to play and sometimes very frustrating. Particularly when I don’t land a perfect burst combo, I feel a bit useless after that.
I was wondering if there were any builds out there that could be considered ‘easier’ to play?
Or at least something with a bit more survivability and more reliable damage (not relying on the AI too much)
I’ve tried to come up with my own builds, (such as using GS and simply going 30 in to Domination and stacking power etc.) but they end up being rather primitive and ineffective.
Any help appreciated!
Shatter Mesmer here, the only build I’ve played with at 80 so far.
Things I can say about shatter build:
*It heavily relies on AI and iLeap, both are very unreliable.
*It’s a burst build, if your combo fails, you’ve gotta try survive until your cooldowns reset.
*You’re a glass cannon, if you don’t get the drop on your target(s) you’re dead.
*You get lag you’re dead.
*Most WvW players are stacking survival stats these days so you can’t burst anyone.
*You can either chose condition removal, or portal, with out portal what are you? A kitten thief.
I’m not bitter at all.
2 things which need to be removed:
Buff. Lag.
Lag is self explanatory, if you haven’t stacked survival stats and used to rely on your own personal skills, you now have no chance to live with the skill delay.
Stats buff is a really bad idea.
Not only from the receiving end of it. Yes, it gives players an advantage over their opponents for free. And yes the server has to gain the buffs, but the majority of players receiving the buff probably had nothing to do with attaining it.
Why is this bad? Apart from the obvious free and unfair advantage over the other servers, it holds no real value to the buff bearer.
There is a lot of player satisfaction from working hard to perfect your characters build and gear, working towards this and achieving your end build is a real achievement.
There is value in this, because it has been hard work to develop your character. A free 150 buff to all stats completely devalues the work you have put into your character.
Can’t you just turn it into 150% MF? Or a point system and the winner at the end of the season wins a skin? Or something like that?
Totally agree with the OP.
Now when I solo roam, looking for a fight, I have to face enemy players with a free 150 bonus to all stats, due to their server having more WvW players.
I’ve played Guild Wars 2 since release, and one thing I’ve found to be noticeably lacking is communication from the dev’s to the player.
I’m not talking about game-design or ‘what can we expect in the future’.
I mean (and I’m sad to have to say it) basic stuff.
I’ll take the Tequatl Rising patch as an example, there’s a patch coming, but when?
All we know is on the 17th of September (maybe).
Why is there no information on when exactly at what to-the-hour time will the servers will actually be offline to players? And why is there no central hub for this kind of information? And if there is such information available, well, this average player has completely missed it after searching for a good hour. (Why isn’t it on the news at log-in?)
All I’ve ever heard about such information such as server downtime, Trading Post availability etc. is rumors from either Twitter or Reddit. It would upset me greatly to think that anyone on A-Net would think only using such mediums is a satisfactory means to communicate with players.
This is truly just silly, there’s a patch coming, inform your consumers when there product is unavailable.
Today the Trading Post was unavailable for maintenance for a long period of time, there was no way to find out for how long, unless another player happened to have checked Twitter and could only tell you “they said they’re doing some maintenance work in 8 hours”
Why was there no ETA on this? (Who care’s if you’re unsure how long it will take, just throw a number at us please, it makes us happy!)
Step it up A-Net, because it feels like a bunch of high school kids are running things when you keep us in the dark.
Tell us when downtime is, give us ETA’s, just whisper sweet things in our ears please.
I really wish they would just admit the skill doesn’t work and rework it to a blink-to-target+summon clone skill instead.
The idea behind Illusionary Leap is great but it just does not work as intended.
I think players would rather have a simple skill that works reliably rather than a cool idea that doesn’t work.
The Ancient Shark skill point in Sparkfly Fen is still bugged, the event appears on the map but the sharks are green to the player and you cannot interact with them.
