I dont think an all zerker meta is a bad thing, but it has lasted way too long. the whole point of the the “meta” is that it changes.

normally you would do this by buffing/nerfing, but I believe the problem lies mostly in the mechanics of gw2 encounters.

In dungeons you are often fighting a single mob with defiant and 1hit attacks with big tells making both cc and heal useless because well defiant and 1hits so you never have a chance to heal up.

It’s nice if a boss has one big attack, but it should have many smaller attacks and effects too, making it very hard to dodge everything and defiant… perhaps you could reduce all cc duration by 50% or something to make it a bit harder but I think its just a bad idea in general. it’d probably be better if you give bosses some stabiity/stunbreaker mechanics.

Conditions arent that useless but only up to 1 player… which means you will still need 80% zerkers.

Now this is all about dungeons for me I havent thought much about open world content with loads of players which does make things a little different, but for dungeons what I think you should do it change up a lot of dungeons/paths and give each a flavor.

Make some where cc is very strong bcause the only thing that can kill the monsters is the magic weapon that takes a while to charge so you have to hold them up
make another dungeon where there’s loads of continuous damage, mayeb many creatures with small attacks or just effects in the room, but make it so that if your team has that bit of extra healing it becomes that much easier to do

then leave some dungeons as they are

that way you wont have one meta in the game but instead have each dungeon have its own meta, which you could change independedly in the future.

this does ofcourse require to change builds all the time which is very difficult in gw2 because(when you’re new at least) changing builds is expensieve because of the armors and weapons you need and its a lot of fuzz because there are no templates. Wouldn’t it just be awesome if you could ask a trainer to write like a guide of youyr current build, make them a bit like a banker keeping track of the builds you worked out “together” so you can instantly buy them from him again

I think you could make a very immersieve in game poll if you just gave it a simple story like…

Grepp, just another asuran jealous of Moto’s succes is trying to create the Mega adventure box. The mega adventure box will focus on the history of the world of tyria, in particular the other four races, rather than teaching values and such like the super adventure box. The first chapter of the Mega adventure box will be about human history, like the guild wars. now Grepp is asking your help, for which you will be compensated, answering questions about how you think the mechanics of the mega adventur box should work.

then maybe after using this for a month or two to get information you could close it off by either actually implementing it or by letting it be a big flop.

it might ofcourse not be so easy to then have a propper survey in the game that feel like a part of it idk about that

There are still some problems with organizing for a fight like tequatl part of which is how the overflow system works at this moment but I believe there might be another way to greatly improve this for teqatl and many other big events.

first off I’d make the events all serverwide like the invasions and make the events much rarer and make sure there’s never more than one active

basically what I want is a the Pact intelligence agency which scouts certain areas and can estimate when the bosses will attack again make npc’s like heralds and place them in fort trinity

they would tell you things like “Risen seem to be gathering in sparkfly fen. Tequatl might be planning another attack and considering how many he already has he is expected to attack in 4 hours” or the other way around “After losing sparkfly fen the pact is readying another attack which will commence in 3 hours”

then next to that I think it would be great if the personal story hint thingy would be replaced by a “pact alert” but with a better name that I cant think of right now, which tells you what event is currently going on or about to start and of invasions although they ofcourse arent warned for b4hand.

right now it would only be used for the temples, invasions and tequatl but in the future other reworked bosses might be added too.

I believe this will help people get ready for hard fights and ensure than all the people that want to join can. It might also increase the connection people have with the pact as if we really are fighting a war against the dragons together and they are not just some minor PS annoyance

I’d like to know what you all think about this and what problems you see with implementing it

Yes please make some preevents which differ depending on who won the last time so if teq won you get some events readying for an attack, say cleaning the fish heads repairing the turrets the megalase and then try to attack him he gets mad and the normal fight follows. if you won the last time perhaps teq will sent risen scouts and saboteurs which will damage the batteries so they will be harder to defend if you fail the event and destroy the turrets

I think the salvaging of blues and greens is a really good idea and I hope Anet never decides to implement new massieve gold sinks to counter mistakes they made wich caused people to fam loads of money.

The reason is very simple, I and I’m sure many others dont like farming much and on top of that there’s ppl who have to miss events. All of these ppl will still suffer from the gold sinks unless you can think of a magical gold sink that only effects those that overfarmed a specific event

I think it’s fantastic the way Zerging doesnt actually work but you do need massieve amounts of players. However it is true that people usually bunch up a little too much, but this is imo because they dont want to go to an event solo, wich is scary/hard aand aren’t in a party. That and the sad fact that you get more loot just zerging an aetherblades event without ever killing the captain.

you dont have to be in the back of a zerg in fact you’ll be more helpfull if you find deserted events and do those with 2-5 man. that way its both slightly more challenging/fun and you get less loot because of how the events scale…ow w8 thats not a goodd thing…. but its more fun

still its the same. because of the patch the map was created more than 10min after the start of th event, thus the event did not start. normally this would only happen when an overflow is created, hence the message

I have to agree that gw2 has some shortcommings on the social aspects and not only if you have a few friends. For example: my friends are spread over two guilds, but I can only chat with half of them at a time. Add to that the different worlds forcing me to guest all the time and play without earning influences or getting bonusses and I get slowly more irritated by it. I hope there will be some more improvements to the social side of the game, even more so if people are completely blocked from playing together like this. I believe so many people would be happier for it.
