How do you visit a friend on another server to do pvp matches with them?
Play SWTOR. You can be a complete baby eating, kitten stomping, psychopath who kills almost everyone you come across or you can be so good they may think you’re Jesus Christ reborn.
Is there a site that lists all the mystic forge recipes?
If you didn’t care you wouldn’t have mentioned it. I didn’t even know WoW had a new expansion coming out. I have no interest in the game anymore. I have done everything I wanted to do in the game and then some.
I must be unlucky/lucky because I haven’t been see a lot of thieves recently. I think many of them figured out you can build a burst warrior and have 15k more health to boot.
Bulls Charge —->Frenzy——>Hundred Blades
I have to agree on the Mems though those guys are everywhere. It doesn’t help that in small spaces 2 Mems become 10 making it very hard to find Waldo.
1.) Block or dodge bulls charge.
2.) Block or dodge Hundred Blades
3.) ???
4.) Profit
No, it hasn’t. The only people who truly whine about thieves are those who don’t know how to play against them. Thieves aren’t hard to beat. I’d suggest making a thief and playing it in sPVP; you’ll learn your own counters soon enough.
Whenever I do sPVP, the class amounts are pretty balanced. More Mesmers than most, but a lot of mesmers are bad (although Moa Transformation is an absolute joke), so it kind of evens out. Guardian is really the only class I’ve noticed has an issue in sPVP, and that’s mainly because of their lack of chasing/CC. In team fights, they do alright, though.
The real issue is that people want to build glass cannon and expect to beat every class no matter what in 1v1. If they lose, they come on here and complain. I agree that the thief build being used by a lot currently is a bit annoying (Assassin’s Signet, Basilisk Venom, and pure damage with daggers for near instant kill with Steal -> Cloak and Dagger -> Backstab), but they can only kill one person with it and they become a regular thief. This build is actually pretty easily countered by survivability or condition damage builds, since if you can survive their initial burst, most thieves who use that build don’t know what to do.
Thats true. I tried the build once. Its all good and well till you find someone who survives it then heals almost back to full health. At that point your in a bit of a scramble to figure out what your next move should be.
I can’t join because I’m a man but I wanted to say this. Its really sad that women are being forced to make their own exclusive guilds because so many men act like immature children when they can hide behind a screen of anonymity.
I have mumble, team speak 3, and vent. I know how to play in a group over a mic. I’ve played in groups in games like BF3, MW3, APB Reloaded and others.
I could only really find two sets of armor for the charr that I liked. The rest are just mah.
“Hulk smash!”
That’s his personality in a nut shell.
If i remember right in GW1 the Charr was their main enemy and probably the ones who brought them to the point they are at now. Which has got to be a bit unsettling to now see Charr just roaming the halls of your final stronghold like they own the joint.
Warrior – Blood
I love how mobs in this game can just decide. “Ok that dude is starting to annoy me.” Then just make a B line straight for you. Lol.
What I mean by that is not can you put bleed, poison, and burn on someone at the same time. Of course you can do that. But what I want to know is if you hit someone with burn. Then burn again before the first burn wares off do they stack and start ticking away life twice as fast or does it just reset the timer?
/signed!
I hate downed in PvP. In PvE its great but in PvP it just really kills the flow of the game.
I don’t even bother downing thiefs or mesmers anymore. They just take to long. I kill them and move on. If they get up they get up. Unless of course we are the only two people sitting on a point.
Anyone else remember the old adventure RPGs where you had a group of people but if someone dies they die for good and if you lose everyone you had to start the game over? >_<
What is with everyone saying only at level 80? That makes them pointless? The whole point is so its easier to travel and explore. If you are 80 you have already seen almost everything.
I like the idea of mounts giving permanent swiftness. Maybe a little faster than that. But they can only be used in PvE areas. They are only ground mounts (No flying! Flying mounts killed WoW.) and can only be obtained after performing a hard quest to unlock the option to buy them around level 40. Then it takes a large sum of gold to buy one from the mount vender.
You do know the mesmer takes the most time to master right? If you don’t know how to use them you will die very quickly.
I don’t know who decided to put jumping puzzles in an MMORPG, but it wasn’t a good idea. They can stay, for casual players that like content like that, but the requirement to do them must be removed from what’s needed to complete a zone. I haven’t found any that I wasn’t able to do, but some of them were just purely annoying, and felt like a waste of time, as I was not enjoying it at all, but needed them for the zone completion and the exp that comes along with that
The worst, and most time consuming one I found was one in the South of Dredgehaunt Cliffs, which took me almost 15 minutes to do. This sort of thing just doesn’t belong in an MMO
15 min is nothing. Try the star wars MMO that started the whole thing. Some of their puzzles literally took me days to complete. You heard me right. Days! As in actual real life days! >_<
The problem was that some of them were just insanely hard and I think there was two or more where you had to wait hours for the platform you needed to jump on to reach you and if you missed it you would have to wait a few more hours for it to come around again. I’m talking like 6 hours for one of them…
Oh and the puzzles gave permanent stat boosts. So you really couldn’t just pass them up if you wanted your character to be the best they could be.
Everyone knows how to counter our greatsword burst build. Its not hard. Just avoid the first knock down, snare, or cripple and you are golden.
I wish they allowed 1vs1 dueling. You could bet on that.
Like if it have 30% chance to apply a bleed when you crit. Will it give 60% if you have two of them?
I’ve had a lot of success with a few builds with a warrior. I find it helps to watch for some good pvp warrior builds on youtube. That’s where I learned about the rifle burst and rifle condition builds. That both work nicely.
Start viewing at 1:50. I tried it out, and he is right, the build kills almost everyone in 2 or 3 hits of pistol whip in under a second, or what feels like a second if you have fast fingers.

I think its funny. In every other MMORPG people complain that the prices on the AH are to high. In this game people are complaining that they are to low. Lol.
For years I have been a loyal Blizzard fan, from Warcraft to Starcraft games, Diablo and WoW.
As time passed, many new MMOs hoping to surpass WoW were released. They always failed.
However with Diablo 3, Blizzard really forgot about the importance of delivering to the players. It might possibly be a downhill slope for them if they continue to disproportionately prioritize profits over customer satisfaction.
Positive points I have noted in Guild Wars 2
- Strangers are actually helpful, rezzing and helping you with quests, mobs and events. Granted they are probably doing it for the experience, but the end result is still pleasant.
- The simple concept of level-scaling completely eliminates malicious ganking or griefing.
- Almost any spec/weapon setup is viable even if someone eventually figures out the absolute optimal setup.
- Exclusion of the Tank/Healer/DPS Holy Trinity. While a dungeon would probably be easier with those dedicated roles present, it does not seem to be an essential requirement.
- Underwater combat. I usually hate this in any game as the gameplay either feels clumsy, my character seems weaker or both. Actually I still would rather not fight under water in GW2, but at least I can say I won’t completely avoid it.
Thank you ArenaNet for such a wonderful game.
By the way, could we please have mounts?
Just so you know a large amount of people who made GW1 where people who had left blizzard for one reason or another. So this game was created by a mostly ex blizzard staff.
Your reward is looking better but not necessarily being better. Its been like that since GW1. This game is not about out gearing people then face stomping them with little effort. Its about being more skilled then them.
I would really love for them to come back with an option to do GW1 random arena type matches. Where its just 5vs5 in a small map. One team on one side and another on the other side. First to kill all the members of the other team wins. No curb stomp move required. Once you are downed you are out.
There are healers in this game. The guardian can spec out to be a good AOE healer. But with no aggro pulling skills there is no tank class. The closest thing to a tank class would be a defensive warrior and he still can’t pull the aggro or survive a few shots by himself. So its not like he could just run in and aggro the whole mob on himself then have the rest of the team run in after to save hiskitten Nine times out of ten if he did that he would die before the rest of his team entered the battle.
Stick and move!
Get in there, lay down the pain, then quickly back out when it starts getting out of hand. Then switch to a ranged weapon and when you see its safe to move in again, switch back to your melee weapon and get in there again to lay down some more pain. Then back off again when it gets to be to much to handle again.
Rinse, lather, repeat.
I’m ashamed that I forgot about this. (You can /kneel in front of statues and idols to receive some short-term boons.) I did that all the time in GW1 and never thought about trying it in GW2. :P
Windows 7 – 64 bit, 16GB DDR3 1600 RAM, i7 920, 1TB HD, 1920 × 1080 22" , x2 SLI GTX 560, and a 1’000w PSU.
I like playing games like Crysis, Battlefield, and CoD. So yeah my computer is kind of over kill when it comes to this game.
…especially since 90% of people in pub games are running glass cannon builds. One stun or knock down to them and a quick burst combo usually does the trick, lol.
Too true… I’ve been running a thief in sPvP and just yesterday I decided to re-trait, re-gear, and just build for as much crit chance and damage as I could. I had no extra toughness at all. It was nice when I was able to get in and land a few attacks, but I would crumble so quickly I was barely getting any kills. There are just too many skills that immobilize, daze, stun, etc… You’ve got to have some kind of defense.
Last night I redid my build again and doubled my Toughness, while still maintaining a pretty decent Power, and it’s a world of difference. I can jump in and out of the melee and not just die in a couple of hits. If I’m stunned or immobilized I have a few seconds to Shadowstep out, or just take some hits without dying instantly. I don’t hit as hard for sure, but I’m in the battle long enough to finish people off.
Last night I was running with a full offensive warrior rifle build and while he was pegging people with 10k+ shots right to the face with his best move. If they got close he was gone. So I tried changing to what I thought would suck. Was a full defensive build and armor with a shield and axe. I was able to kill many more people and I could stand my ground for some time as long as I didn’t get zerg stomped. lol.
An easy fix would be the make it so only the warrior who cast it can pick it up. That way after a fight the warrior can still pick it up and bring it over to the next one.
Nice video. I was playing my warrior in PvP last night and ran into a thief who just loved those vanishing skills. He would vanish all the time and he won. I never even thought of just spamming the auto attack skill.
It sucks but you have to go the the other starting areas too. I didn’t want to touch the other starting areas till I was out of my own. But story quests keep out leveling me so I guess I will have to do that too.
My story quests keep out leveling me. :P
I just blow through them but I’m a Mesmer. I can normally do a story quest once I’m at least one level under its recommended level of play.
