I had a lot of respect for VLK before this match up. When I thought of VLK I thought of some of the best group fighters and solo roamers I had ever seen. Now I just think of zerglings who cant win a 1 v 1 even vs an EXTREMELY zerg/large group combat oriented build. I even made a mockery of some in a 2 v 1 using the same build that before was pretty much defenseless in 1 v 1’s, let alone 1 v x. I’m sure that some of the old VLK members from FC’s previous match up with HoD are still left. But the people I’m running into now extremely disappoint me.

It really depends what time you catch us. If we’re actually working as a group we tend to run group builds which makes us pretty kittenty for 1v1s. Catch us on our off hours and you will find our roamers and more 1v1/small group oriented.

wow HoD you guys are silver league #s in NA prime. rest of the day you’re upper bronze but right now you have our border queued with a large EB zerg and holding 1/2 of KN BL and when I go to a camp in your border I get swarmed by 10-15.

We asked a smaller guild who usually fields around 5-10 people to guard our BL so if anything were to happen we could respond immediately. As far as your BL goes, we asked our largest wvw guilds to come play. EB we usually leave alone because as we’ve said earlier every pug and smaller casual wvw guild heads there. Normally we have a pug commander running the show.

But we really only have around 4-5 large wvw guilds who are able to field more then 15 people(Rawr, VLK, PHZE, FKB).

Honestly, I have no idea where the hell everyone came from. Though,I think we had a lot of new people I havent seen before. So we had alot of PvErs come out for the achievement points.

That, or we have a ton of pent up tension from the previous 2 matches.

Advice.
HoD instead of sending your 30+ VLK full of killshot warriors, try taking back all your keeps instead of just trolling in Eternal, with those numbers you guys could be doing alot more but instead they just run around laughing at our bodies spamming killshot.

Regarding how to talk to GW2 peeps. It depends on your server. Some severs have their own TS server so you’re going to find out what the address is and connect to it.

Our forum does take a bit to get used to. There’s about 40% serious posts 50% silly post and 10% misc. Honestly, we’re a pretty chill group. We play hard and work hard in wvw however we don’t let things get us down. Even if we get wiped we have fun and just roll with what we get. I wont lie, our server does get matched up with some totally out of our league matches. (we’re pretty much in the exact middle of the silver league). But when it happens, we do what we can and have fun with it.

HoD is a pretty stable server right now. We’re currently in the middle of the silver league. We’ve got some pretty stable and dedicated guilds that work together in WvW. Most of us use the HoD teamspeak which is available for all guilds and members of the HoD community. If you have questions, you are welcome to post them on our website or just message me in game.

If I wasn’t already completely dedicated to my server. I would totally join in a heart beat. I love Quaggans.

As a general suggestion I’d say look at the lower tier servers (pretty much T5 or whatever is T5 now and down). They tend not to have queues and competitive WvW environments.

Now to plug my own server…Henge of Denravi is a pretty awesome server. We’re currently ranked 20th. HoD has both large zergs and small man/solo roaming team. Even if we’re matched up against a higher tier server we always have a good time. We have dedicated WvW players who work together and have fun.
Our community website (www.hengeofdenravi.com) is active with members posting about things from events, wvw, and even some poetry. The website also hosts our server wide community mumble that any HoD player can use (PvE, Dungeons, WvW, socializing, etc).

I would suggest looking at the lower ranked servers if your guild enjoys roaming and fights (HoD, ET, FC, DR, etc).

Now to shamelessly advertise for my own server. Henge of Denravi has a mix of zergs and small man groups. HoD has several guilds that do nothing but small man group roam and look for fights. We almost never have queues except on reset night, or if someone is doing something silly in EB or our BL. Also, we’re a medium population server right now, so transferring is fairly cheap.

T6 wood and metal are character specific. So you will not be allowed to go to another server and harvest the resources there too. However, t6 herbs are not character bound. Also: the lower tiers are not character specific so you can harvest those on a different server as well.

Personally..I just jumped into WvW and took one camp. All of the camp’s npcs are vets exception to the quarter master.

The text should show up just around your character or around the attack you dodged.

Personally, I found getting the dodge daily was super easy in WvW. I think I charged into a zerg and rolled twice and got my daily done.

I personally love my warrior, but that aside. If you want a more dynamic class which you need to move around and fight I’d suggest thief or elementlist . Elementlist can actually get pretty tanky at higher levels. Thiefs are just fun cause they can be all stealthy and high DPS.

Pretty much. You can really level where ever you like in this game.

How to start: I still have no clue.

But regarding the quaggan backpack, it’s a skin, so you would just attach the skin to an existing backpiece.

Well you could just level in WvW. I know people who have leveled a character from level 2 to 80 in wvw. Otherwise, I personally think the easiest way is to level via crafting. It costs gold but imo it’s the fastest way.

Karma points are really easy to earn. Every day you finish your daily you get a jug of liquid karma which is worth about 4.5k karma. You can save those and use them all at once with karma boosts will make it around 7k karma a pop. Also, dynamic events are always everywhere in the world so you earn karma that way too. If you chose to WvW every time you kill a dolyak, defend/attack a tower/camp/keep/etc you get karma.

However, there are some nice lvl 80 karma gear you can get which is around 42k a piece and if you want to make a legendary you will need around a million karma. So it’s up to you, what you want to do with your karma. It’s not too hard to earn back if you do decide to spend it.

Yup badges of honor are still dropped in normal bags.

Mystic coins are generally used for making items in the mystic forge. Generally it’s used to create level 80 exotics. So really you can either save them and make yourself something nice when you finally hit max level or sell them on the trading post.

You could start a new character to get used to the game and then switch back and finish things off on your guardian. I get my first character to level 80 and spent some time going around and finding jumping puzzles to finish just for fun. I mean you could also give WvW a shot.

The mystic forge or..mystic toilet can be used for other things as well. There are recipes out there that will yield guaranteed results. One of the things I use it for fairly often is upgrading crafting materials. It’s possible to convert t5 crafting to t6 crafting mats. It’s still risky and there isn’t a profit to be made there. But it’s sometimes cheaper then buying the t6 mats outright. Otherwise, there’s also mystic weapons, and other weapon recipe. The last thing I can think of is upgrading siege for wvw. The difference between an regular ram and a superior ram is pretty significant.

I’m in henge of denravi (NA server). We’ve got a nice community site where we organize events and etc. There’s around 10-20 people on our community mumble every night. We find groups for WvW, run dungeons, or just run around pve maps.

I can’t speak for people my server (HoD) but I don’t usually attack people unless they attack me first. And to be honest, I only attacked GoM today cause they were camping and killing people in the EB puzzle.

What Liltaro said, but you could always just switch the skills based on your situation.

Part of surviving is making sure the equipment you are using is up to your level. Because, that actually effects a lot more then you expect especially when you are up-down-leveled.

Otherwise, it kind of depends on your build. so what traits are you running?

I’ve noticed a lot of warriors in WvW tend to use 2handed guns and greatsword combo.
But, what other weapons would be good for WvW?
