Turns out the superior runes of altruism don’t currently trigger when a warrior uses vigorous shouts, only when they use their 6 healing skill. Not sure if this is intentional, or an oversight, but I was a little disappointed after rounding up 6 of them.
oddly thieves could benefit from the Altruism runes….traited they have a heal on a 12 second timer
Only interesting part of the set is the superior sigil which has 60% on critt to transfer a condition from you to an enemy. 10s cooldown, but is capable of moving whole condition stacks at once.
what are you talking about?
Booted due to new build….now im getting a connection error and connot get back into the game

Did you even bother asking him how he got that 4 min stealth? I guess not…
I was busy fighting at the time and it slipped my mind until today…so i figured I’d ask here.
I thought I read that stealth stacks are now capped at something like 12 seconds….I clicked a realm mate yesterday in WvW who had a 4 minute stealth buff on him….
is this a bug or hack of some sort? or am i mistaken
I’m really not sure that the “power creep” whiners have thought this through. Of course they were going to add new armor to the game. W/O a doubt 100%. This isn’t the end I suspect. Do you not think they are going to add “Legendary Armor”?
so suck it up and apply some common sense before you whine.
Less QQ and more pew pew
^^ in dark age i had roughly 40 abilities on my bars….and they all received extensive use
bads got away with using less….but then again…they were bads
What were you playing that had 40 abilities that you used extensively?
My warden had 3 action bars full of abilities but a lot of them I used so infrequently I constantly had to remind myself what the icon was for. My other characters used far less.
i played several classes….but on top of classabilities and weapon styles there were realm abilities….master level abilities…champ abilities…..armor/weapon charges…potions
i had 3 full hotbars on my screen and had to toggle to another page on the main bar

it will take some actual coding and some seriousness by anet to prevent the hacking/cheats….it took dark age a few years before they coded a way to stop it….but the day they did they banned 1/3 of an entire server and thousands of people on other servers….the guy writing the radar/cheats gave up shortly after that saying it wasn’t worth it to try to overcome the method of detection…
the tier’d armor is some of the ugliest armor in the game…at least for medium humans…no way i’d ever spend that much money on it….considering the cost….the appearance should be epic
Try another class not thief, imo.
Easy mode class, is easy mode.
i certainly plan on it….but that doesn’t mean the class isn’t boring and a button mashing class
ive seen the guardian played first hand…..it doesn’t look much better…..cool down…cool down….cool down
Creativity comes from constraint, having all your skills in over 50 hotkeys simply limits your playstyle because there will be no need for change
that’s absurd…having 20 situational choices is always better than 2 button mashers and 8 cool downs/situationals….
sometimes it is worth the risk to avoid the potentionally STEEP 15% rake from the TP…there will come a time when there will be people who will build good reptuations as a neutral 3rd party and facilitate trades…like a broker
most games that i’ve seen, like UO, that don’t have a person to person trading system eventually spawns brokers to facilitate high dollar item trades
this game will be no different
absolutely…i would probably never use SoM with a d/d build for instance….it is nice to have a selection of heals to fit the situation
Well, when I played that unnamed MMO that starts with a W, the last class I played in PvE was rogue. The exact buttons I hit to DPS were as follows: press 2 a couple times, press R if bleed is about to end otherwise press X. If the boss is about to AoE, press 3. If the cooldown is up, press side mouse button to make the next attack 100% crit. When you need to do a little more DPS for a few seconds, press shift E twice to enter stealth and use an opener (I had a macro).
Someone tell me how that’s more engaging than GW2 combat. Because I don’t see how it is.
daoc was a good example of having a set of weapon abilities that noobs could button mash if they wanted to….and had some chain/situational weapon skills that better players used and excelled……
this game took A LOT of good concepts from daoc….i wish they would have taken more of the combat system
^^ clearly he’s talking about weapon skills….even if you swap….ur still using 5 weapon skills….
this is coming from a thief where no matter what you have 5 weapon abilities…and 5 skill abilities……that’s it…
button mash button mash button mash
the 5 same skills over and over and over is one of the major flaws with this game…as it stands it is nothing but a button masher as far as combat goes…
hopefully they address this in the near future
GW1 was one of the worst mmos/pseudo mmo i’ve ever played….it was worse than rift and warhammer combined…
GW2 is actually a fun game. It has a great many flaws yet …but assuming the devs make good decisions(which is sketchy at this point) then GW2 will be the 2nd funnest MMO ever IMO.
I’ve progressed from HiS to Withdraw to SoM. IMO in general PvE nothing really beats the signet. Pull out the sword which hits many enemies at once if you stack them which is hugely useful against event mobs where hordes of enemies spawn. My bro who is a guardian sitting next to me watched about 15 mobs gather on me as we were trying to duo the lyssa event which quickly drained my life away initially…..then came pistol whip and i went from 25% to full in 2 seconds….he was stun’d and said all he saw was countless 100, 100, 100 fly along my screen. Against large stacks of mobs you are nearly invincible with it passive
it also helps against those dungeon mobs with retaliation…

@Josh Foreman: There is nothing to be sorry for. It was an amazing jump puzzle that took nearly everyone an hour+ to overcome. It was challenging and gave a sense of satisfaction upon completion. One of the most joys I’ve ever had in a PvE environment. Thanks for making it and please don’t let anyone here deter you from making something as awesome in the future.
as a hint on how much i loved the puzzle…..i completed it over 200 times in the span of a few hours.
2. if everyone was transformed into the same sized character
that is actually a fantastic idea
i completed the puzzle over 200 times farming trick or treat bags…. it was one of the funnest events ive had in any game
I spent an hour on the puzzle before i finally completed it. After that i completed it another 200+ times(yes…you read that right). It is a very easy puzzle once you get used to the timing of the jumps and put the effort in. Its an amazing puzzle and shouldn’t really be changed. But slowing the green mist wouldn’t be a horrible change all things considered.
@ the people bashing “gamblers”
There is a flaw with your logic to the point of being down right kitten. In any form of gambling you are given odds of success either thru posted odds or long documented history. This is a short event so the long documented history goes out the window. That leaves posted odds. This game didn’t have posted odds and being a short event it was safe to assume that chests would have fairly decent odds of dropping a skin. This has proven to NOT be the case. Clearly it was a money grab by anet. That’s fine as its a business. However by not posting the odds and charging RL money for the keys they created a serious violation of trust on behalf of their players and IMO was very deceptive. When RL money is involved….Anet needs to start posting odds for success on every rng item purchased via the store.
This combined with the insanely priced crafted skins , again supposedly for a “fun” event, has left a bad taste in people’s mouths.
Anet needs to relax with the mney grabbing and realize if they provide FAIR prices and ODDS then people will be more than happy to spend RL money with them….if they feel they aren’t being cheated.
care to post a screenshot so those of us that will miss the entire event can see what we’re missing?
Nimbus Terrafaux….I said his name in vent and he yelled “TOASTYYYY!”
^^ most people are bad. It is a video game…not something important after all….however the bads still found a way to beat the path and i’m not sure why that twists elitist’s kitten so much.
Ive only ever run pugs in Arah. Some of the more noobish pugs took 3 tries to kill giga but we’ve always managed to do it w/o using the waypoint trick. My question to you however is…..why do you give a flying donkey punch what pugs do to get past a certain part of a dungeon if it’s not exploiting? It’s the height of absurdity to think noobs actually being able to complete the dungeon some how affects you.

One of the most fun aspects of a game is character appearance and the ability to customize it. People will literally play a game only for this feature alone. It’s the sole reason City of Heroes existed as long as it did. No one wants to look the same as everyone else or be stuck with a handful of mostly crappy armor/weapon/item skins.
For instance as a medium armor wearer i was stuck wearing a trenchcoat that a pedo/flasher is stereotypically seen as using….literally for 50 levels that was all i was rewarded or all that dropped. That is just silly
So i ask that the devs implement some of the custimization features from that game. Make these questable, droppable, craftable, and purchasable rewards.
Things like weapon dyes, weapon auras, character auras, eye auras(and feet/hands), wings(non function/hover only), capes, cloaks(previous 3 as back slots), spell effects color change, potions that add particle fx to weapons, etc
these things drive a game…even when there is nothing else fun to be done. It gives something casual players can achieve w/o the ridiculous time investment a legendary weapon entails while still having the freedom to look awesome.
This is a very fun game and this really is the biggest thing it is missing and would keep me playing for years.
