next thing coming: engineers don’t have to reload their rifles, fix plx… and if you want to have it realistic… make it happen that you can headshoot people on 10k+ distance and they drop dead on the spot without downstate. No shiny armor stops a bullet and no warrior can run faster than a bullet (though not sure about that)
Though there has been increased qq about engis lately.
There is a lot of QQing because people simply don’t understand the engineer and don’t want to either. They get killed, they run off to the forums and shout “NERF PLX! kthxbye” (see OP). I mean, the engineers skill floor is higher than the skill ceiling of most classes, but besides that, people simply don’t open their eyes. How often do I laugh myself nearly to death when guards, thiefs, necros tailgate me while I stroll around and kite them to death, how often do I see ranged classes simply standing there getting wrecked by grenades and the ONLY thing they don’t do is dodging… or getting away.. but 10 minutes later you’ll find them QQing in the forums.
This thread really made my day, hadn’t had such a good laugh in weeks. I don’t want to say it’s a l2p issue.. but.. lets face it as it is.. it’s a l2p issue. I bet OP’s the kind of guy who found and imb4 ultr4 1337 cheesemode!!!!111oneoneeleven guide on the forum, doesn’t know half of what he’s doing and why (but teh guide said i’ll be OP :’( ) and any engi out there would tear him to pieces by slapping his keyboard with the flat of his hand while laughing like a madman…

And no, we can’t turn it off.
Just to be sure, everyone gets 4 sigils except for us and Elementalists, we’re still stuck with Kits that don’t scale with our weapons, but at least we get shields for our turrets, so that they will stand for 4,5 seconds? By all means, this is not intended as QQ (though it may seem that way), I was just wondering.
“soon” in terms of WvW means “Go on, plant a tree, build a house, get children.. and if they graduate from college you’ll get some information. Maybe.”
White, silver for the chains and metal stuff, midnight fire for the dark parts and I think the blue stuff is seafoam.. but not sure about that one. Goes nicely with the mystic pistols

- unupgraded tower = veteran patrol
- upgraded tower = + veteran gate keeper
- unupgraded keep = veteran arrowcart gunner
- upgraded keep = veteran cannon gunner
And how long do you think will an Veteran last against a 60+ blob? How long do you think an automatic cannon will fire when 60 people spike it? I’d say less than a quarter second for the Veteran, maybe 5 seconds for the cannon.
Sort of. I tried it in sPvP (autohit from guardian until crit followed by an hammer launch a few seconds later) which resulted in no additional protection. We tried this a couple times and only protective shield triggered (critical hit). Haven’t had the time to confirm this in WvW yet, but I can’t think of a reason why there should be a difference
Good point there with the cooldown. I tested it in sPvP and they actually share a cooldown. A critical hit followed by launch results in protection for the critical hit only

I’ll give it a shot and will post my experiences.
Since we don’t have many Engineers in our Guild I’m a little bit on my own and would like to have some opinions about the build I plan to run.
The goal of the build is to play frontline-medic in WvW, so I’ll be right where the action is.
My Opinion of this build so far is as follows
Pros:
-2 water fields, 5 blast finishers
-Full celestial gear offers a decent amount of armor and packs a punch combined with bomb-kit
-Immobilize from bomb 5, stun from supply drop
-Less damage when stunned/or knocked down
-Protection on incoming critical hit
-Protection on disable
-Permanent swiftness (maybe something else is better here?)
-Reduced immobilize/cripple/chill duration
Cons:
-No stability from Elixir B toss
-other things I may have forgotten to think about ^^
Would love to hear your opinion on this.

How about modifying the outmanned-buff in a way that actually helps to balance the map? If one team is outnumbered 1:2 give them.. say 20% higher stats, if they’re outnumbered 1:3 give them 30% or whatever would be fitting. But that would immediately bring up QQ-posts from the small-scale players and roamers.. but if you want to play 1 on 1 or even 5 on 5, then imho you shouldn’t play wvw, instead play sPvP…
But buffing the stats of the outmanned team is actually the only way I could think of to balance the 60+ karma trains against lower populated servers who only have not that many players. Let’s just make an example… say we have Server A which has a Zerg of 60 people and we have Server B which has a Zerg of 20 people (in our matchup this week this is absolutely common). So Server B is outnumbered 1:3, let’s double their stats. So actually you have 20 people with the power of 40 against 60. They’re still behind, BUT! they actually have a CHANCE to bring the bigger Zerg down and are not screwed the second the fight begins.
