And the second picture was a surprise incident of SBS thanks to a Karka hatchling in Southsun.

The ranks are very slowly filling, but still nowhere near enough to start doing regular group activities.

Some come on, people! Get your shiny on, come join us, and embrace your ADOS (Attention Deficit… Ooh! Shiny!)

And remember, unlike other communities, in the Legion titles and positions of nobility are earned instead of merely inherited, so says Shaasta, Princess Emmissary At Large.

Ah good. The perfect place to share an experience my Elementalist had in Southsun last night.

I was attacked by a Champion Karka and suddenly learned that the little hatchlings it puts out can be quite the little pervs…

I honestly was not expecting SBS there in Southsun…

2 months later, and still trying to get going. After failing to recruit by broadcasting in map chat in places like Lion’s Arch and Divinity’s Reach (usually completely ignored), I’m at a loss as to how to continue. How else can I get people interested?

Based out of Skrittsburg (when the gates aren’t locked), we are their defenders, as well as patrollers of the Brisban Wildlands and the surrounding areas, because king says so.

We may not be able to play as Skritt yet, but we can be the next best thing, honorary Skritt.

Can we please just get rid of SPvP already? It’s destroying the game.

Sometimes I wonder if they secretly hired Jack Emmert and Dave Bowman to head the dev team here. What will be in a patch in the near future? Rangers removed completely from the game?

Meh. Really thought Saturday night would be a sure fire time to get a team. Been trying for about 45 minutes or so for Honor of the Waves (explore mode), and it has just been total silence.

I went ahead and paid the 150 gems for the Cargo Shorts. Then dyed them and the default Norn girl top jalapeno and pottery, turning the two piece combo into what looks like a one piece short suit or jumper or whatever that fashion is called.

A shame we can’t transmute armor to look like town clothes.

Yep. Definitely need to get into another guild if I want to have a hope of teaming for dungeon runs. Just spent the past couple hours doing nothing except try to get a team for either HotW. No luck whatsoever, not even any indication that anyone was even seeing my request for that matter.

This time, tried in both Lion’s Arch and Frostgorge. Total silence as usual. I did check out GW2LFG. I saw there were a few teams running for HotW. But there was no sign of them in game, so I am guessing they were on other servers. Plus, at least one or two of them only wanted experienced players for the run. And since I have only done it once, that would probably mean I would not be wanted on those teams, due to insufficient experience.

Trying to get back into the game again. I took a rather lengthy break due to boredom (my poor Elementalist ended up mostly soloing to 80 after all, yawn), and busyness with other things.

Anyway, been a couple days, and it seems not much has changed. Still having difficulty finding groups to run with. Actually interested in doing dungeon runs now as I try to get my level 80 armor set (trying to get my armor as drops instead of just buying at the trading post, since that provides some motivations for an 80 to run dungeons), and even that is proving difficult to find groups for.

Asking about dungeon runs in map chat in some of the busier zones and in guild chat generally just results in silence. How else can I find a group at any given time otherwise?

And I have been keeping my status set as LFG. But I suspect hardly anyone even pays attention to that.

Just got her to 80 and geared up, Arah shoulders and t3 cultural pants are only armor im 100% sure I like.

Mine is still lingering at 51. I have no idea where to even begin planning out a build for her. Haven’t even had her unlock her Master’s Manual yet, since I don’t know what traits she should focus on.

Her “formal” look, using a set of level 79 armor…

And then her leathers. For now, these are just for looks, since she has not figured out her level 80 armor yet. Once she does, the new armor will be transmuted to this look…

Well, I just spent the past hour or two roaming the Hrathi Hinterlands, fighting stuff, exploring, mining, etc, with the occasional broadcast in /map that I am looking for a big team… Total silence, not even the usual snarky “Why would you want a team for exploring?” that I usually get once per session.

If it isn’t, then that would make the purchasable armor skins in the gem store useless unless you are already at max level.

I believe they can’t be transmuted while they are equipped. Just unequip them if you want to transmute

I will be checking out and hopefully soon posting in that other thread for teaming. Tonight was rather pathetic… about 4 hours in game and went from 35 to 35.9, and a good portion of that was due to completing Gendarran Fields exploration.

Saw plenty of announcements for AC. But I really have no desire to go through that more than once on any particular character. Perhaps tomorrow night will be better if I get around to logging in early enough.

Tarnished Coast

I appreciate all the suggestions so far. And 4 days since I first posted this, I have managed to make another 2 levels (34 now), and it has still effectively been a single player game for me.

Socializing in DR and LA hasn’t helped any, and most of the LFM shouts I see are for higher level dungeons. I do see the occasional broadcast for AC, but the thought of going through that a second time on the same character sickens me. :/

I am still hoping that if I can, by some miracle, get on a full team one of these days, that might serve as the gateway to get into a suitable guild instead of joining one of those that is always broadcasting for new members or sending blind invites. I prefer that the guild I join have some members with whom I have already ran.

Would turning off representation for my personal guild help draw the notice of another guild when teamed? Is it possible that when they see that I am already in a guild that they assume that I would not be interested in joining another?

Well, I just spent several hours chatting away off and on in Lion’s Arch, occasionally interjecting that I was looking for a group for exploration and personal story quests. Still no luck. I never mentioned looking for a guild though. When it comes to joining such, I prefer to get on a normal team for whatever activities, and then let one of the team members bring up the possibility of joining their guild if they think I am suitable for them. Hasn’t happened yet though.

Okay, my Elementalist has recently reached 32. And sadly, most of that was solo, which I am finding dreadfully boring. Lately, my sessions have been thus…

1 – Log in
2 – Go to whatever zone I want to adventure in
3 – Broadcast in Map Chat that I am looking for a team
4 – Go run around the zone beating on various enemies for about 15 minutes
5 – Broadcast one more time looking for a team
6 – Spend another 15 minutes running about the zone beating things up
7 – Finally get bored and log out

How does one find teams in this game. In the last game I used to play, it was pretty easy to get a full team of 8 at most any time. Here, it feels like it is strictly a single player game. I keep my status set as LFG, but I have yet to see any actual team search tool in game. Is there one? If so, where is it? Or if there is not, is there a global chat channel specifically for LFG instead of Map chat?

The problem of buying them on the gemstore is not only spending money. It’s also that they don’t feel like you have accomplished anyway, like crafting, or defeating something to get them. I care about appearance, as long as it is something I achieve ingame, Wearing clothes bought with money doesn’t appeal to me.

Yeah. Being able to earn them in game would be great. Until then though, I personally make getting them via the Gem Store a personal achievement anyway. That is, I decide what I want a character to have, and I determine that she or he will get it once a certain level is reached. For my Asura, it was the Reading Glasses once she hit level 20. For my Elementalist, it was the Profane Armor set once she reached 20. Of course, she only used a couple of the pieces. The rest is in my bank for when I hit on just the right look for other characters who may be able to use some of them.
