I find the underwater combat a bit…underwhelming. I feel underpowered on both of my characters when not on land (level 80 thief and elementalist). I can’t dodge like I want to, and especially on the thief I can’t even switch weapons so I am spamming the same skills over and over again. My elementalist is more exciting to play, but damage feels so low.
Celery is sold in bulk by two different heart karma vendors, one in Gendarran Fields and the other in Wayfarer Foothills:

If you look at the items and see that they are account bound, that means they are sold in bulk by a vendor somewhere.
I agree about the discovery and bank aspect. I am chef, around level 300. I have so many ingredients that there is no way to fit them all in my bags. Now, not all of the ingredients still have discoverable recipes, but many do. I can’t fit them all in my bags. What this has forced me to do is to start looking up ingredients online and seeing what they can make, which kind of defeats the purpose of discovery yeah?
Why can we craft with them in the bank, but discovery is a big no no?
I haven’t been able to sell anything worth a darn on the TP I have made from cooking I can tell you that. Most of it is worth a few coppers, much less than the materials. There is too much supply, not enough demand. I am ok with that however, as I personally get good use out of most of the food.

Yes I recommend going to another 15-25 zone. Yesterday as I was leveling my thief I got to the point in Kessex Hills where the hearts and were too high. I went to Lion’s Arch, then headed over to Ascalon and hit up Diessa Plateau (15-25 Charr zone) and leveled there for a bit. There is a Norn and Sylvari/Asure 15-25 zone as well.
It should be based on distance, not level. What, am I getting fatter as I level, and it costs the Asurans more to transport me? It doesn’t even make sense to me. At least distance-based costs make sense to me lore-wise. I am not making a whole lot more money with events and selling gear now that I am 80, but it costs me much, much more to travel then it used to.
I like crafting gold sinks. I don’t like convenience gold sinks. Just my personal opinion.
Don’t feel bad. I am level 80 and haven’t run a dungeon either. I out-leveled my extremely small guild unfortunately. The only way I know of for getting groups is yes, spamming the chat in major cities and also going to those zones that the dungeon is in and lfg there. No dungeon finding tool as of yet.
I find the zones challenging, which I like. I do however agree with some of your points. I really enjoyed pretty much every zone until I hit Orr. With astronomical teleportation fees, it’s just a chore to try to move around the zones.
For me, if they just made it so teleportation fees were based on distance traveled, and not level, Orr would be more bearable. I am not a fan of these zones aesthetics either, but I understand they are supposed to be ugly as that does support the lore.
Huzzah! That strategy was a success. It went exactly like that^^ I killed first wave of floaty swords, npcs rezzed and started beating on the boss. I killed the couriers during this time and dps’d the boss when I could. I used both my elementals which helped. A second wave of swords spawned, npcs died. I killed these just like the first, npc’s rezzed then we nuked him down.
Thanks again guys!

Hendever thank you so much. I was thinking the same thing…at one point I tried that, killing his guards but I died and forgot about doing it again. I will definitely try this later!
Possible Spoilers below, fair warning!
I am playing as a human elementalist who joined the priory. I have had a few small issues with personal story quests along the way, but nothing until I got to this one. I chose to fight the Mouth of Zhaitan head on, which turned out to be huge mistake. I cannot figure out how to kill him. The boss has several boons, a health regen (which never goes away), and some stacking protection buffs which basically make him invulnerable. The protection buff does wear off, the only problem is that there are two infinitely spawning high HP mobs that bring ‘re-ups’ on the boon every 30-60 seconds or so. I have attempted to kill these two mobs over and over again, while rushing down to throw some damage on the boss, but after 40 minutes of doing this he was only down to about 75% health. I am doing something terribly wrong.
The three npcs that are with you, shout something about only hitting from range, then they promptly die because they have no AI. So you are there solo, with an invulnerable boss that gets boons from infinitely spawning mobs.
How do you do this? I am completely stumped. I have no abilities that can remove boons. Have not been able to get anyone to help me in mapchat, and to be honest I am not sure even two people could do this. This mission is labeled as 75 and I am now 80 and appropriately geared, but still no luck.
Any help is appreciated
Yes, I just destroy them. It’s unfortunate as I like to keep things like that, they all have little sayings in their tooltip.
Just hit 80 on Sunday and I basically just rolled another character and am playing that. I cannot finish my personal story solo, stuck on the elementalist Estate of Decay (no it’s not bugged, just impossible solo without boon removal) and to be honest I didn’t care for Orr territories. I leveled cooking somewhat but so did everyone else so my food is worthless. The other crafting professions are just grinds. I cannot get into WvWvW on my server due to queues but I haven’t tried much sPvP so I should give that a try.
I think my problem is that I don’t really have a guild, no one to play with. My two friends who were hyped about the game got to level 15 and just stopped logging in for some reason. I should really find a guild
Yes, some of them are just silly.
I am now a level 80 Elementalist and I found that I could not do most of them at the level required. I had to get at least 2-3 levels and gear above and they would be doable.
However, I have gotten to the level 75 ‘Estate of Decay’ mission and I cannot get past the boss.
Basically I chose to fight the Mouth of Zhaitan instead of killing it’s food source. Huge mistake. You get to the boss fight and he has several boons and is basically invulnerable. You can’t get to close to him because he is surrounded by mobs so you must range him. Some of the boons are short lasting, others stay there forever. He has infinitely spawning mobs bringing him re-ups on the short boons every 30-60 seconds. If you kill the mobs, two of them with lots of hp, the boons will wear off, but it’s not possible to do this solo, because they just keep on spawning. Elementalists have no enemy boon removal ability. I spent about 40 minutes just running back and forth, killing the mobs, and slowly chipping away at his hp and I gave up. What’s worse is that the three npcs you have with you are completely worthless and usually go down within 30 seconds.
I have not figured out how to do it. I can find nothing on internet about it, which leads to believe that I am either doing it completely wrong, or it’s hard and no one has done it (surely someone has?).
Anyways, yes I have found them to be hard as a squishy class. The NPC AI is plain awful. Those risen sure do run fast!
