armor does matter in PvP, at least body legs and one more piece which i cant think of right now.

Flat out wrong. All that is required to test is remove your armor and see your stats do not change.

I read it carefully and I will not change what I said. I knew what I said.

Except they actually are changing individual pieces of town clothing into armor skins >.>

Here is some more official information on the Wardrobe and Town Clothes (and Dyes) for those that may still have questions:

https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/45889307-Dyes

https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/46419166-Wardrobe

https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/45944258-Town-Clothes

Hope that clears up some of the questions. =)

Thank you for this. It seems like that instead of changing town clothes into actual armour pieces like everybody wants, they’re opting for the refund way. Fair enough. I won’t be buying town clothes ever again.

Read carefully:
“What’s happening to town clothes with the April 2104 Feature Build?
The separation between in-combat and out-of combat appearance is being replaced by a completely new armor skinning system known as Wardrobe. This conversion will affect the town clothes that you already own in one of three ways:
Town clothing sets such as the Pirate Captain’s Outfit or Mad King’s Outfit will become one-piece account unlocks known as outfits which can be toggled to be displayed on your character instead of armor, even during combat.
Most pieces sold separately, such as the Fuzzy Animal Hats or Phantom Hood, will become armor skins for the appropriate slot, usable by a character that wears armor of any type.
Some promotional town clothing, such as the Dragon Emblem T-shirt and retired town clothes such as the hoodies, will become endless tonics which allow you to continue to wear the clothing in non-combat situations.

Can I still mix and match my town clothes?
Clothing pieces that are converted to armor skins can be mixed and matched with the same restrictions as other armors. Outfits cannot be mixed as each of them now is stored on an account-wide basis as a single unlock. Items related to endless tonics cannot be mixed or dyed.

What’s happening to toys?
Toys obtained prior to the implementation of the Wardrobe system will first need to be exchanged at a Black Lion Armor Trader for a new toy before they can be used again. Costume Brawl equipment such as the Boxing Gloves or riding toys such as the Witch’s Enchanted Broom—all of which previously were equipped on the Town Clothes page—now will be used directly from inventory.

If I don’t want a tonic, can I get a gem refund for the purchase?
Customer support will be able to fulfill gem refund requests only for town clothes that become endless tonics. Such requests must be made after the Town Clothes system changes take effect; refund requests cannot be processed prior to the April Feature Build. Customer Support is not able to fulfill requests for refunds other than those related to Town Clothes that become endless tonics. This means that town clothes that become skins are not eligible for a refund.”

I don’t care about clipping hair. My long male hair clips with everything. I don’t want to change it to anything else either. Thanks for the new hairs.

Stop doing living story, make an expansion!

What do You people think?
i think the living story concept is working well and is profitable for them, so it better that they keep on using the living story platform to distribute new expansion content.

Do You also hate LS as I do?
no. i love the living story concept.

Do you also think it is detrminetal for this game?
no. i think it makes the game better.

How many of You would like to see expansion instead?
not me.

i want to see expansion content delivered via living story updates.
this is what they promised earlier.

I agree with this guy. I’d rather have something new every two weeks than every two years. Besides after the content has been out a while the old content becomes barren of players.

Yeah so this new content is kinda AWESOME

Sitting in chairs would be great.
One thing FFXIV ARR got right was the emote system.

Best in game community in existence. I’ve left for greener pastures a couple of times. Always end up back here. On top of that I find the game getting better.

Now if dungeons are boring to you, why aren’t you doing fractals? Also new PVP game types are coming out soon. We got a new WvW not too long ago.

Which server has been able to complete new LS

My home is Tarnished Coast. Haven’t been on the main server in LA since this release. However I did just sign off after 2 successful runs in Overflow. Watch Knights killed with 4 minutes to spare and the Scarlet was cleared with plenty of time left as well. It didn’t take an “organized” group just a collection of people who had become accustomed to the mechanics of the fights.

Let’s share our screenshots where it looks as if our characters are doing something cool, interesting, and/or improbable.

Here I have a shot of one of my characters dragging a companion to safety through a portal.

In actuality it’s a bug where the mesmer’s glow remains after activating mass invisibility. It lasted until I zoned. So to have fun I just hit /dance. My friend is in her standing idle animation.

Please post yours and describe how you made it happen

TC is NA though, any of these types of servers on the EU?

I think Piken Square is the unofficial EU RP server but I could be wrong since I’m in NA.

Yes Piken Square for EU RPers. If you are into the RP scene, guildwars2roleplayers.com is a must see.

I agree on all points posted (except the minis – I don’t get why anyone would want or have a tiny human pet. What are those about?)

The living story idea truly is phenomenal and something MMO’s have needed for years. Thanks for pushing the envelope here. Can’t wait til Anet gets it mastered as well.

Spoof; GW2 Advertising=Consortium propaganda?

I guess it comes down to either having a model viewer or a hack i.e. turning the environment all 1 color (and requesting assistance on such topic here is likely to cause the thread to be locked).

Looking for the same. Requests for a model viewer and 1st person mode seem to have come up often on this topic. If you are looking for any hands on assistance in your project itself, feel free to look me up.

One thing I’m looking at currently is putting on a magic show in game with a team of accomplices using skill animations in front of a crowd. The crowd would obscure the fact that we’re stuck with 3rd person view only.

Has anyone found a way to green screen in this game? I want to make some real quality videos and share them, but see this is my primary hurdle in doing so. Perhaps my only alternative is working with stills, motion comic style, and manually masking via Photoshop?

Lack of first person view is limiting, but in the end still not preclusive to my goals.
Just need help with this one hurdle.
