now that i have an alt of level 50 and 1 of level 40 i feel again very frustrated about those things, childhoodfriends and early relationships just go missing, i have seen that ther are several posts about how to make the home instance better and others about the personal story wiht similar concerns, we got different races and should therfore get different stories
cant a gree to grail a bout pets while many rangers seem to think they are not good enough u seem to think they are too good
Pets need to stay dead when killed and need to be recovered in order to res them just like players, they do not need to slink back on their own like they currently do. Pets also should not be summonable in combat or make the cooldown on summoning a pet more than 5 minutes in combat.
Pets, to include mesmer pets that are not on elite timers provide a beyond huge advantage no other players have by providing reliable mistargeting, this needs to be fixed. The advantage is to great verse other non target skills in relation to what pets have as attack and utility. The argument that “tab” target or aoe is a simple crutch that holds no water as an argument for the people using pets ans they do not want to see this huge advantage go away.
as a ranger pet helped a lot but for a long time it would not attack said it was too far, same for my elite that were wasted twice, i wondered if the distance looked bugged as i thought i was close enough, thraherne did some damage and then died at a spot wher i could not revive him, i was not downed but close pretty often as i was not always able to avoid getting hit, then i ran until i got health back but the eye did not heal meanwhile, it would have been bad if he had done that, i wonder why it did heal as some player here said i did the mish a bout 2 weeks ago
on the other hand male norn npcseem to be ugly most of the time
in gw1 i had many chars and did not mind to do the same quests and mish again i skipped proph exept on my mains as i found the bonus complicated and the first areas (after pre) sad. I know other players liked it, personal choice. But i did all the others many times. but the story was different, levelling was faster the possibility of changing and creating builds added a lot to the interest of the game.

now on alt (norn) choose my order which again i felt was very important but i know already that sadly those characters wiht whom i did some quests will will vanish just as my mentor and i think they should not completley disappaer, but they should get more depth come back and be included in some (side?) story from time to time .the nron whispers recruiter at least is in my home i wonder if the other 2 have a place somewhere or if they are comletly forgotten like the human whispers recruiter.
i found it also frustrating when i heard that the story is only different at start, lets say between a human noble and a human street rat but no real difference between human and norn and so on, i hoped that evry race would have their own story, while it seems to be the same or nearly the same after choosing an order (exept for the choices)so in fact we ge tonly 3 stroys wiht some variationand then later on it becomes 1

8) better (more) skills, something to make a real build
first improvment wanted; personal story (including home) a)choices need to have more (real) influence on the story, those we make at start and those afterwards
b)
characters that were here at the beginning (family, friends) need to play some part from time to time, they are dropped too fast, as are others afterwards, that does not make sens, we have no time to get to know or attached to all those that spawn and , we need some reliable npc friends
2) charm, ferocity, dignity should influence the dialogs and from time to time it could influence the path taken in the story,
3) story should be different for each race till the end, or at least close to the end, otherwise playing another new character is much less interesting, was very dispointed when i heard that halfway through the game quests will be the same and even earlier if same order choosen
4) there should be more different voices
5) more customisation (of all kind) for charactercreation (lots of older posts about that)
6) adapt dungeon difficulty to partysize to make them playable for soloplayer or give us controllable henchmen for dungeons
7)remove all bugs lol
agree with this post is partly what i said in mine
at least you have a presence in your home instance of the order you choose, this is missing here, i choose OoW because i liked best they way they do, means because of the dialog where they try to convince me and of what i knew about them from gw1, they also reminded me most of gw1 and master of whispers as a hero i liked to have.

logan who sent me mails after each part of personal stroy got quiet after level 75 or so, again something that has been started and finally forgotten
i saw that similar concerns in different posts. and yes i agree with what i read several times there, there is a difference in the storypart we had in beta and the part after, which is when we choose our order, the first part being better
i have done whole s troy alone and nwo same problem am waitng wiht the last one

i agrre that some parts of the story were disapointing after the choice of the order, characters disapear, have been writing a post about that
i got that message a t first but i was not doing it right, i did all the mish exept the last alone and no problem, as i was told i will need a group i have not done the last mish yet, anyways had no real problem on ranger for the whole story, the pet helped a lot for the eye , once i manged to get it to attack, as i did have some problems with the distances in that last solomsih , told me i was too far when it didn look that way, (bug?)for the same reason my elite was useless and wasted the hound just would not attack

well i think the personal quests should be adapted to the class, i may find them harder when playing on other characters and making other choices
i do update my armor before each personal quest, i found some places for instance some caves harder than the personal quests
claw island was hard had to use repair canister (the first time) but i was also under the requiredleel and in the end i saw that they were so slow that i could kite them choosing one in the pack and runnign around but i wonderd how a non ranged classe could do this, warriors have bows but i think guardians dont ahve any ranged weapon
could be the classe or/and the choices made,
on my ranger did not have much trouble so far would even find it too easy if the parts i choose were made easier unfortuantely i have not recorded the names of the choices i choose whispers order as human
maybe ill find all that when doing another class and/or choosing other ways, killed the mouth of zhaitan few days ago no problem most of my gear is green with upgrades in it, as i said usually i upgrade my gear before doing a personal story part, so if i am doing a level 75 quest my gear was prolly beween 72 and 75, costs prolly not more then paying for deaths
the is some places i found harder than the personal story some caves for instance are not even doable for a single player
i cna only talk for my ranger who has lots of points in beastmastery and good pets, i too died at the battle in claw island it was the only time i used repar canister but i was 2. 3 levels under the recommanded level in the end I found out that they were many but slow so i kept running around and kiting them. but of course that works only for a ranged class i realy wonderd how a mele would do with all those undeads.
usually i died when i tried a story quest under my level, had to abandon one with undeads but i was “underaged”
but maybe i was always lucky choosing the easiest way when choices were given. I do upgrade my armor to my level or close before i do my personal story
i agree wiht the comments about the npcs some look bugged.
the personal story which i almost dropped was the one in the water where you had to find your way through, to get to some orb, i realy hated it; i think we have enough labyrinths and they should not put that in a personal stroy
this is about a human noble who did not find sisters body and later choose to join the order of whispers, so careful for spoilers
about home; currently level 77 I last checked at level 74 or 75
It was supposed to follow the story ,change with it but exept the fish-creatures near the fountain there is nothing new, no dialog about what i have done or anything
As i joined the whispers order i would for exemple have expected to find some agents
worse my sister is not even there and my best friend will not have any real converstation for me when i visit his house
Which brings me to the story, i really expected those 2 (sister and childhood friend) have some part in it, a t least from time to time, not only in the beginning.
It is very frustrating that they do not show up at all after the first missions its like somebody had started a story and then some body else started another story and the first had been forgotten and has not been followed.
I found it also frustrating that the agent who recruited me for his order and who was my partner in one mission vanished afterwards.
I expected him to play a more important part, be my partner from time to time, follow me (like logan Thackery is doing)and be there in some meetings.
The same way I would have expected the recruiter from the other orders play some part in the story if I had choosen their order. After all its an important decision.
In fact my recruiter was in one meeting in Lyons Arch, not so long after recruiting me, there was even a dialog but after that, he had been forgotten just as my child hood friend was forgotten. Again it felt like the story that one writer had started was dropped because someone else did the writing of the next chapter

My recruiter is not even in chantry of secrets, in fact he seems to be nowhere while the norn whispers recruiter I think she is in their home.
As the story goes on, a player will meet several npc friends and partners but its the first ones that are the most important and that we want to keep . And unfortnately
they are missing
Im close to the end and hope ill meet Logan again, he was writing mails which is better then nothing and he was there from time to time a bit more would have been nice.
A lot of people have been frustrated wiht Travaerne I wonder if that frustration might partly be caused by the same reasons, he is there too often while others whom we liked better , or simply who were our friends longer had been left out.
It would be nice to be able to find all of those npc partners in some place , have conversations and get friendshippoints.
