I don’t normally confuse my fingers and my sausages, I like to keep those seperate, but the new mechanical mobs drop like 70c each… That is a ton of money. Besides, no matter how much they nerf utility infusions they are still going to be better than 5 points towards 1 stat. These are relatively new changes, and why should they base the whole game around 3 infusions they made early on?… they shouldn’t…
I think the utility infusions are similar to magic find and they are taking valuable stats that could help your group as a whole, and replacing them with stats that promote selfish play.
Here is a straw, suck it up!!!!!!!!! :o
this game isn’t just for “casuals”… how many casual players won the recent pvp tournament? i think you will find plenty of serious players in this game. I consider myself a semi-serious player and i have had an easy time finding other people who are also serious to play with, and i have fun.
I do agree that a race change feature would be a good addition to the gem store because it will get more people to buy gems. Other than that, your situation makes me laugh. Knowing there is someone suffering with having to play sylvari makes me like the races i chose even more. teehee :P
Its all going to happen like the plot of the movie I Robot. Will smith is going to investigate the dead of a dude, find out that robots might have been the murderers, and then he is going to kill the queen because she was planning to destroy all the humans for being “inferior”.
Win.
You might not even use it either then. Did you notice the warhorn skill that gives swiftness also removes some movement conditions? Maybe that has you confused
I’m pretty sure a zerker in downed state still does twice the damage a PVT person does, so whether or not that is a good argument is questionable.
Besides, a zerker who gets downed occasionally > a PVT person draining time throughout the whole dungeon :/
Don’t even claim all advocates of zerker armor are mean. Making generalizations like that is a very mean thing to do. The reason people don’t want PVT people in their groups is because they fail to contribute to the group, that is a fact.
If someone out there thinks PVT is soooo great and they are being descrimminated against by 1337 zerker jerks, then please feel free to make a gw2lfg post and make PVT a requirement. I would love to see that, besides I definately don’t want you in my group and obviously you dont want me in your group either.
I’d like to use one to slay you right now.
It wouldn’t hurt anyone if the transmuted weapons would get updated too though, would it?
It would kind of be unfair for the people that DID NOT transmute it. They might have ran around with wrong stats on the weapon the whole time when they could have had the right stats. so… It is unfair
You basically have no arguement then? Sweet.
The only reason you want transmuted legendarys to not get upgraded is because you want to see the people who did transmute them to get punished? Your opinion is sad.
We all spent 400 or so hours to obtain a legendary didn’t we? I think people who transmuted their legendarys and people who didn’t transmute them got cheated. We ALL got cheated!
I think one of them is a pirate! it could be a plan by the pirates to get one of themselves elected into office! look at the picture that represents this part of the living story, it is a two sided picture of both Evon and Kiel, and they both look particularly evil and maniacal ( and not only in a political way).
My theory of course is countered my the trials where we kill pirates and steal their gold, but we dont really see where the gold goes after that do we?
aaand go ahead and tear this apart because i don’t pay alot of attention to the living story and lore, this is just my wild imagination at work :P
Dont pug with groups who are all members of the same guild. I don’t even like being in groups of all people from my guild. Chances are guild groups are carrying/teaching other guildies or doing and EXTREMELY casual run.
In your case in particular you should know the risk involved in pugging, the 2 vote system as literally been here since the game came out. Now you claim it’s Areana net’s fault, whoopdy do. You should also be aware that it’s partly your own fault for not being more careful.
I for one like the two vote system, and I enjoy the responsibility that it comes with.
I really appreciate this kind of input guys. It’s really making me think about my build! Retaliation might just be something I cant ignore then. Hahaha i’ll have to fight a few more guardians and see! I can imagine its really easy for someone to spec to be able to counter my build, but whether they do Idk. Hopefully they don’t XD
Zero condition removal.
Zero stability.
Bc without frenzy is easily dodged, stun is easily broken. And that is even assuming your opponent has no stability.
And have you tried axe5 when they have retal up?
Seriously with so many hardcounters to this build how do you expect this to work against even remotely capable people?
There are no good condition removal utility’s, the majority of a warriors condition removal is in traits. :/ you could definately switch bulls charge for one if you wanted to. Like I said if they are able to kite you (with chill or whatever) use rifle, it’s almost just as good.
If they have use a stun breaker while you have them stunned then you might still be able to keep up with them in while you channel whirlwind, especially if you use a dodge roll to keep up with their running speed while your channel finishes.
Retaliation is about 200-300 damage isn’t it? That x15 is like 3-4k out of my 18k health pool.
Every pvp warrior build has these same counters.
Humor me and try this build. Please. It’s easy to look at it and have a million questions about each and every thing in it. I don’t appreciate it. I spent the time to post it didn’t I? Then when you are finished I would be happy to get laughed at.
I honestly dont think and of your criticisms are constructive.
I only need to hit one person with the stun, I never said I was intending to hit 5 people with whirling axe. Whirling axe does almost as much damage as hundred blades in pvp. They buffed it. This is burst that I only intend on hitting 1 person with.
As for it’s 20 second cooldown, go ahead and use axe mastery if you think it’s better. It probably is. The only reason I picked burst mastery is because it will let me keep adrenaline after I use the mace stun. Either way you are going to have to wait for frenzy to cooldown before you can effectively use whirling axe again anyway, and in this way it is similar to hundred blades.
Oh, wow. Gee, thanks for your input you kind gentleman.
does your signet of fury cover you 100% of the time or something? sweet dude good for you. signet of fury is used before you engage anyone. its always going to have the problem of running out, all you can do is use it right before you engage and pray. this includes every warrior ever unless you have some godly boon duration.
the channeling of whirling axe is 3 1/2 seconds, so is hundred blades. Do you know what people who use hundred blades do to counter that? they use frenzy.
and phisical training is used as only a filler for lack of real traits in that particular warrior line. people who use GS are forced to take a crap trait too.
simply put my combo is mace stun- whirling axe- frenzy
edit- mace stun frenzy theeeen whirling axe… teehee
and burst mastery doesnt even effect whirling axe. so your point isn’t valid. burst mastery is for having full adrenaline more often, and it sets you up for when you switch to rifle to use that burst afterward if you need to.

This build takes advantage of mace’s 3 second stun, axe’s whirling axe, and the 50 increased critical chance while stunned to make an awesome combo that only stability and stunbreakers can save you from.
I’m sure you all know whirling axe got a damage increase, which …almost… brings it to par with hundred blades in terms of damage in pvp, but i believe that it brings more to the table because its ability to dodge while channeling and being able to move.
I’m traited for only attack power and crit damage because of unsuspecting foe’s ability to take my crit chance above 100% for as long as my opponent is stunned.
I chose scholar runes because they are primarily crit damage and power enhancing. The 10% damage while above 90% health from scholar runes is useful for the very beginning of combat, and for situations where you use your rifle secondary (especially for using your rifle at the start of combat).
Your rifle secondary comes in handy for making you more survivable, and it necessary vs almost any necromancer or situations where you are being kited for its ability to have large burst at ranged (be careful because it doesn’t pierce). Your rifle is your go-to weapon for when your whirling axe burst is over and on cooldown.
The utilitys i picked were bull’s charge, frenzy, and signet of fury. bulls charge is simply a gap closer. I use bulls charge at the start of the fight and it has the possibility of making the opponent use one of their stun breakers early, if not, it gives me 2 seonds to maybe set up/ think about my burst, or auto attack (bulls charge is the most flexible, and i would recommend swapping this for another skill like stability if need be). Frenzy is to be used with either whirling axe or one of rifles burst moves (preferably whirling axe). Signet of fury is simply to always have the rage needed for your burst skills and/or the 15% damage bonus for having full adrenaline.
This is only my first build i have ever posted on forums! I look forward to your input on it! Please feel free to try it out, or correct my grammar. we could correct my grammar all day guys. Be easy on me! I know it lacks mobility, but its definitely got its advantages too.
(edited by Wyre.7458)
ignore them, then take your anger out by beating them on the racetrack! The game isn’t that hard to master. if it takes them more than 25 games to actually win a race without an entire pitty party and people letting them win. they deserve to lose.
sorry, noobs.
(if they are genuinely nice people ill let them win though!)
4 hours, 3:15 AM, still going. Is this is ArenaNet? Is this the “action RPG” you wanted to create? Does this match the vision you had for your game? If this is to your plans, then I am done.
I have exactly 999 hours and 1 minute played. I’ve decided if this continues past the 1000 hour milestone, then I am done and won’t return.
it would be really funny to see someone quit because belchers bluff had ruined the entire game for them. haha but to make you feel better, its not like it took that much effort to create, its basically rock paper scissors. take a look at zepher sanctum, that was a masterpiece. don’t get too mad over a more expensive version of rock paper scissors. overall, the update was decent
I agree, i think that the zephyr sanctum model would better suit someone who hadn’t done all of the achievements and explored the zephyr sanctum already. it belongs at a vendor somewhere for free, so that people who in the future who are new to GW2 can get it and take a look at the place because they had never seen it before.
For the moment i’m not sure if i want to destroy it, or let it rot in my bank forever.
I like MH axe a lot! When you use greatsword, choosing traits gets messy, and forceful greatsword seems to be in the wrong tree which screws my traits up. Axe MH doesn’t have that problem, and 30/10/0/0/30 or 30/0/0/10/30 both have every trait an axe user would ever need, aaannnd you get to have 2 Sigils.
Oh and in wvw it’s not difficult to hit 6-7k with the final hit of the axe chain. teehee
Simple answer is no no buffs to mobility. Warrior can not out run a thief unless they run S/X in both weapon sets.
For any warrior who think they are the ultra mobile elite.a a good thief will have shadowstep and bow or dagger. Factually if a thief just want to keep up with you its entirely possible because they have the gap closing mobility to do it no matter your set. There is no way around it. If you ran fro ma thief and got OOC the thief either blew their cool downs and you didn’t or they simply sucked.
While Warriors need Sword and GS with perma swiftness to outrun a thief, they can very much do so.
Sigh..
Bull’s Charge = 900 Rush 1,200 Savage Leap = 900 Whirlwind Attack =450
Total distance = 3,450
Total application time = 4 secondsShadowstep = 1.200 steal = 900 Infiltrator’s Arrow x 2= 1,800
Total distance = 3,900
Total activation time = Anywhere from 1 second to to 3 seconds Fast cast ground target could theoretically make it nearly instantaneous. This is all assuming the thief doesn’t have any initiative traits. If he has base of 15 instead of 12 then you can get a Infiltrator’s Strike or a Heartseeker for an extra 600 or 450 range respectively. Even then at base iniative rechange of 1.33 seconds per point you could still get either one of these moves off in the time it takes for the warrior to complete his running way combo. CD reduction on warrior skills on GS would not effect the sprint portion of catching up.
Also note this does not factor in Infiltrator’s Signet, Roll for Initiative, Withdraw, and Scorpion Wire Wire acting as additional movement skills and gap closers. And does not factor in the use of Sprint for warrior.
All of warriors movement abilitys besides sword leap go further than what is said on the tool tip while the warrior has swiftness on. I wouldn’t say it’s exactly 33% further, but it is significant
I think more warriors are running sword now that axe got hit with that Damage nerf..
Wait, axe didn’t get hit with a damage nerf….?
It’s game breaking, and yeah it’s a little disappointing that they let it happen again. I heard they banned people for exploiting dragonball, but they can’t ban everyone in pve belchers bluff because it is your own instance. Im sure in pvp belchers bluff peoPle will hold back just for fear of actually getting banned. So much for a challenge, everyone and their mom is going to have beaten the master guy now…
I had heard regen food and regen boosters work wile playing belches bluff. I tested it against a friend of mine, earlier today, and it’s true. This is especially overpowered because everyone’s health is scaled down. Can this please be fixed?
More instruments, so that we can the variety nessisary to make a marching band in lions arch ( a really fun, but probably horribly annoying and uncoordinated marching band!)!!!
Edit- Don’t forget the cow bell!
Edit 2- and town clothing to have a properly dressed marching band
right now, with my axe mace build i am 30/10/0/0/30 and i really like it because i even get the dual wielding 5% damage boost and a damage boost for having an extra signet. i’m indecisive what GS build i would even use if i were to use it since you can no longer have 12% damage from full adrenaline, 10% damage while enemy is bleeding, 12% crit chance, and the might stacksfrom forceful greatsword at the same time while specced for GS.
Im really thinking axe is the way to go if you want the most damage, unfortunately. im not really sure about it though.
June* hahaha sorry I’m actually posting from my cell phone, excuse me
(edited by Wyre.7458)
After the June 25 patch in a little confused about which one is better, or if they have evened them out a little. Didnt MH axe technically receive a buff? Why are people saying that it got nerfed? I know that the last hit of the chain might rarely hit somone in pvp, but In pve it is fine. Also, greatsword got nerfed as far as traits go, while axe received a buff since you can so easily trait for Max efficiency for axe with the 30 points for 15% damage and also get the 15% crit chance while having full adrenaline.
Would somone mind shining some light on this situation for me please?

When you feel bad about not having a social life, and play guild wars more to make yourself feel better about it.
remember the old days when you would do pvp and the color of your armor was automatic? the good’ole blue for blue team and red for red team, those were pretty cool, although less customization. and i understand how we all want customization options
Idea 1: what if we created a dye color that was red when you were on red team and blue when you were on blue team! This would be mainly for the people who wanted to match for their games, AND they would have complete customization control!
idea 2!!!! : We don’t have to stop there! what if there were even more dyes that switched colors based on what team you were on? like for example yellow when you are red team and purple for when you are on red team! This would definately add a new dimension to character customization! and would be totally awesome!
idea 3!!!!!!!! : we could also have different dye sets that would just change based on which team you are on. that would make it more simple :P
Let me know what you think! I’m really excited about this idea! Even though it might just seem like a minor change… or even a waste of time to implement, but it sure would be really cool
I hate not matching the color of the team i am on…. haha
Does the majority of people world wide like these one time events and hate content? Do they like grinding with their F key? I’m in favor of all the gemstone items like weapons, but the weapons are themed for events that are boring. Why have a themed weapon that represents a boring event? Good luck making money selling those.
“I opened 2,000 dragon coffers, lit 50 effigies, killed some see through monsters, and now I have this weapon. I hate myself.” -Average person’s event responseNot really. Also in case you weren’t aware, Anet has the next year planned out this way. One event per month, no real content additions to speak of. This is how it’s going to be for the foreseeable future. I’d much rather have updates be a bit more scarce if that meant we’d get long lasting changes and additions to the game.
Are you sure they have it planned into the next year already? Flame and frost, for example, was soooo slow it seemed like more of a test run than anything. And the precursor one-time karka event was a nightmare. It’s wishful thinking to assume they have it planned that far ahead haha. I wonder if they have tommorows content ready.
(I don’t mean to offend anyone who disagrees with me I’m exaggerating to make my point.)

I kinda wish achievement points didn’t exist…. Areana net is abusing them!!!! I don’t want to press F anymorez!!!! STTTTAAAAHHHHHPPPP!!!! My poor achievements!!!
It’s too bad it takes both rift and gw2 to kill wow… And it’s mostly because wow is just plain old. Otherwise, wow would hold the title FOREVER!!!!!
It is obvious that the Asura have a clear advantage in PvP because of their size. Asurans are not only difficult to target without auto-targeting on, but their skills are impossible to see! It is much more difficult to dodge an asura’s skills than it is to dodge a charr’s or a norn’s
I don’t know about you, but i don’t want to feel like i need to pick an Asura for PvP or level one for WvW just to get this same advantage. Its just unfair to my poor poor Charr! :’(
I do have one suggestion. I know that asurans can’t shoot over objects or over rough terrain as well as taller characters because they lose their line of sight. This is a good start, but what if asurans had shorter melee range? that would be one fix, and it would be a natural disadvantage to counter their advantage from their small size? it would make sense! 130 range for an asura’s melee attack is basically a ranged attack for them…
Constructive responses only! Thanks for reading
Kal-Spiro-9745 You made a good point about the holograms, but mostly you have a very unique point of view and I’m not surprised that you are unsatisfied because you are obviously very picky. :P
For example, who doesn’t pvp?
I just hope you don’t make a thread every time a game makes you unsatified, eventually you could have your own forum category.Actually no, I don’t have a unique point of view at all. You would only need to spend a short amount of time in the suggestion forum to realize how mediocre my point of view is.
People who don’t PvP are those who don’t enjoy it, and they are legion. I’m not going to say there are more of us than there are of you because I honestly have no way of knowing that, but I can say there are plenty of us. I personally don’t enjoy it because I’m simply no good at it. I have attempted each of the PvP mini games and in every case have been unable to compete, so I’ve just given up on that account.
As for making a thread every time I’m dissatisfied, no. I occationally participate in other threads about something I’m dissatisfied with, as I’m rarely uniquely dissatisfied with any one thing. This, however, is the first time I’ve been so extensively dissatisfied with an entire event that I felt the need to start a thread about it, and as I think I said, only because no one else had done it first.
There is probably a legion of people with a similar point of view as me.
As for what I consider to be “content”, I don’t consider one time events, doing fractals over and over, doing the same open world escort/monster killing events, the 6-7 pvp maps we have to use, or the horribly bad story line quests to be content.

if you don’t like this update it could be worse, they could get rid of everything, and leave us with nothing except a few weapon skins and moa racing. Oh right.
Lets be honest, the only reason most of us are playing gw2 over any other mmo is because we are waiting for it to be good. it has a lot of potential to be fun, but it just isn’t quite there, and these one time event, side steps, aren’t going to help get us there.
my advice, since there are no other mmo’s that peak my interests, personally, i would stay with gw2 and eventually in 2-3 years this game will become what it was meant to be when it first came out. Hopefully.
just ignore this update, and appreciate the the cool dragon mystic forge. haha

I just hope you don’t make a thread every time a game makes you unsatified, eventually you could have your own forum category.Me. I only participate in the event PvP games for the achievement points, or else the missing rows irritate the hell out of me.
Every time a new event rolls around, I sigh cause I have to play another PvP mini game for achievements.
Really? hmmm… well, i dont think any of the content they released yesterday is the problem. they just simply aren’t releasing enough content to cater to people with such specific gaming preferences.
its really hard to believe that you could go without wvw, spvp, or minigames and still have a sufficient amount of enjoyment in this game. Even skill balancing is mostly based on effectiveness in pvp. i personally take advantage of everything this game has to offer pve, and pvp. It just seems like you might be limiting yourself quite a bit by only playing one or the other, but i guess you should only have to do what you like (although there is simply not enough content).
Ahhh! okay i understand, i was looking at forums from my phone, but now that i see your older posts i know that that is what you were referring to. sorry about that, i was really confused.
You make a good point! Versatile rage should also have no cool-down, it seems like a pointless cooldown anyway!

The signet of the warrior was never very good to begin with. I’m not sure what context your post belongs with, are you being sarcastic?
But the weapon swapping cooldown trait is a huge deal. Show me a warrior who doesn’t currently use that trait, and I will show you a bad warrior.
We are one greatsword burst move buff away from having our entire class based around the 5 second weapon swapping trait. We are much further away from having the cooldowns on burst skills removed (that was the point I was trying to make in my previous post). Also, fast weapon swapping and unlimited burst skill usage contradict each other, and make fast weapon swapping redundant. Don’t forget that fast weapon swapping and burst skill traits share the same tree too, making it even a worse problem.
(edited by Wyre.7458)
I agree almost completely with this idea too, but it is silly to think that this could be done without ANY skill nerfs or a nerf to the way warriors gain adrenaline…
Even mesmers have cool downs on their shatter abilitys, but only individual shatter cool downs. Should we get rid of the shattering cool downs too? I think so, and we should nerf mesmers ability to gain illusions.
Also, don’t forget that you can switch weapons with warriors and your burst moves on each of your weapons don’t share cooldowns so techinically you can use a burst move every 5 seconds when you are trained for it. The ability to use burst skills for the same weapon over and over might make a warrior’s short weapon swapping cooldown redundant completely.
Maybe it would be a good idea if sigils were part of your traits, and you had to go to a professions trainer to re-pick them?
That seem like too radical of a change…. but that’s the sort of thing i’m trying to get to. some sigils have no trade offs when you can freely switch between them, and that makes them completely over powered.Yea, kinda agree with you there. Well, sigils aren’t meant to have a trade-offs anyway. They’re meant to augment a particular playstyle.
Like only killing things while the game is inside its night time phase? Sigil of night is another one of the worst offenders.
Maybe it would be a good idea if sigils were part of your traits, and you had to go to a professions trainer to re-pick them?

You caught me penatbater, i was exaggerating. Obviously nobody is literally forcing us to buy these extra sigils. Thanks, good detective work. Please don’t belittle my entire post. I really doubt you even read the whole thing.
You can also do the bloodlust sigil switch in pvp, and in there you only need 5 kills with it for the max stacks. maybe you aren’t necessarily more competitive, but its unfair to give advantages to people who carry around more than one weapon for this purpose.
This isnt a superficial stat bonus/money drain like the really expensive infusions are. this is a significant boost in stats that can only be achieved by having multiple weapons.
(edited by Wyre.7458)
Yeah i know that. but what i’m wondering is why we are forced to do that? why do we have to buy a bloodlust sigil, buy another weapon to house that sigil, and switch to and from those weapons for the added bonuses? why cant we just have one weapon, instead of 4-5 so that we can achieve maximum sigil strength?
(edited by Wyre.7458)
This song also plays whenever i walk into rooms in slow motion. I’m also usually wearing really dark sunglasses ( I know, sunglasses indoors? really? Yeah… Oh freaking heck yeah.)
I have a problem with these 10% damage sigils, and the rest of the very situational sigils there are.
It is a common strategy in pve to get a skin from Ascalonian Catacombs, put sigil of night onto it, and switch to that weapon whenever it glows so that you can get the 10% damage bonus.
It is also a common strategy to use Sigil of Bloodlust in WvW. With the high number of kills you get inside WvW, you can easily get the stacks and switch to another weapon to get the benefits from Sigil of Bloodlust and also whichever sigil you might have on your switched weapon.
Another example is if its night time in WvW you could use sigil of bloodlust for the stacks, switch to Sigil of Night, and get the 10% damage bonus from that. All to get your maximum killing efficiency! woohoo!
Does this not strike you as annoying? who has time for this? But currently every player and his/her mom is doing something like the examples i gave.
Obviously you don’t have to use any of these sigils if you don’t want them. You could just use Sigil of Force on all of your weapons. If you do that you will be settling for a sigil that is only half as good as any 10% sigil, and that’s not counting the 250 attack power you won’t have. Which is extremely significant if you want to be at all competitive.
Is it intended for us to have 9 different weapons, one for each dungeon, with these specific sigils, another weapon for your Bloodlust stacks, your Sigil of Night, and your weapon with Sigil of Force for when it’s not night time and you aren’t in a dungeon?
Do you agree that we should get rid of these kinds of very situational weapon sigils and make room for more universal sigils? Sigils that don’t give SIGNIFICANT advantages to people with more gold and more inventory space?
Please let me know whether or not i have a good point.
This needs to be changed!!!!!
