4k tiled display and crossfire not working

I tried to get a crossfire (2x R9 290X) to run with GW2 (32bit and 64bit) on a tiled 4k display (DELL UP2414Q). The game crashes.

For crossfire u need the full-screen non windowed mode. The moment I swap to that the game crashes.

- Using windowed full-screen so crossfire is not enabled works in both windowed and full-screen non windowed mode.
- Using a lower resolution like HD instead of UHD works and in crossfire in both windowed and full-screen non windowed mode.

So, only the combination of UHD and crossfire (full-screen) does not work.

So, what about the people that already have 2 cards in crossfire and don’t want to buy 1 better card?

I have 2x R9 290X in crossfire on 2x 4k displays.
When I run 64bit client in fullscreen (needed for crossfire to work) the client simply crashes! Not tested with 32bit client yet..

I tried 2x Sapphire R9 290x today on 2x 4K monitors, with the latest crimson drivers.
Both 32bit and 64bit client would not start and made windows 10 64 bit give a crash window (not from GW2, but windows itself), when full screen mode (needed for crossfire) is on. When windowed mode (no crossfire) was on there was no problem at all.

It seems I can not get GW2 to work using crossfire and 4k monitors.

And for everyone saying GW2 doesn’t need more GPU power, that is not the case on 4k! My CPU does not get above 60% utilization, while my GPU has 100% almost non stop.

I too get lower FPS. Had around 60 and now 36 on desktop.

R9 290 (4k monitors)
I7 3770k (3.5ghz)
8GB ram
Win 10 64bit

I did not change any setting.

I also see less CPU usage (not sure if thats good). Around 40% instead of ~60%. But it uses the threads added by HyperThreading better. With the 32bit these 4 extra threads were mostly unused, while 1 or 2 threads of the CPU’s peaked. Now it is divided more evenly between all threads.

Did you already made a support ticket? I think they updated their protocol to handle this and things will get solved faster now.
I just got this message from support:

support:

Hello X,

The Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns Serial Code you added to your Guild Wars 2 game account was initially purchased from https://buy.guildwars2.com/en/. Through normal purchase reviews, our payment processor discovered that the serial code was acquired through a fraudulent purchase. As a result, the serial code was disabled and the account with which it was associated has been blocked.

If you purchased Guild Wars 2 from a third party-that is, an unauthorized seller or reseller, we recommend contacting them to acquire a full refund. We strongly encourage you not to accept a replacement serial code, as we have found such codes generally are fraudulent, as well.

At this time, I have unblocked your Guild Wars 2 game account.

If you wish to repurchase Heart of Thorns, please purchase a new retail copy/serial code from an authorized retailer. A list of authorized retailers can be found here: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/retailers . You may also acquire a digital copy of the game through the Guild Wars 2 official website here: https://buy.guildwars2.com/.

There is an old saying that goes" If it seems to good to be true , then it is too good to be true". I mean you see a site selling something that cost 49.99 minimum from the actual developer of the game for 30.00 bucks you better believe it is too good to be true. In today’s internet market it is very much the consumers responsibility to do a little research and know what he or she is getting into and not just accept things for face value and then blame or expect the original owner to take the loss in these situations.

This is nonsense!
Do you really always buy the product you want in the most expensive shop?
More shops are offering the game for 30 than for 50, so it doesn’t look "to good to be true’, it looks better. And these sites have good support, protection and tons of happy buyers. Research was done! Everytime I buy something, I look for the best price online (some people call this being smart) and I almost never had trouble (and that is not because I am lucky) while saving money. I have adressed this already several times on the forum. A company grows that big because it is trustworthy and not by selling illegal keys. The fact that they offer buyers protection and allow pay pal adds to this. They are supporting the victims and are taking care of the fraudulent supplier. They have lots of happy costumers compared to the ones who had problems.
Maybe you should do some research before posting this stuff! In todays internet market, buying from retailers and comparing them is a normal thing.

Finally ArenaNet decided to communicate with us about the issue…after 3 days.
However, it comes as no surprise to me that it’s Gaile Gray doing this. She always was a great link between the ArenaNet developers and the players.

However after reading her say that we have to appeal our suspension to support, I am even more upset about the pointless replies most of us have received from GW2 Support.

I follow you 100% on this one.
Some developers or all of them don’t work during the weekend I heard (they also need some days off), so I guess that’s why it took so long. If only support could have given us similar information as to what Gaile said…
The way support works or is allowed to react, really could improve. It’s all about communication.

The retailer you bought from was simply not authorized and probably got the key in an illegal way.

The above is the kernel that everyone needs to know. A large number of the codes that are resold by unauthorized resellers are fraudulent. Naturally, ArenaNet cannot give you a refund — they did not receive the money. They cannot give you a free game — that’s just bad business.

The buyer must beware. Authorized partners do have sales, so watch for those. Or, if you decide to take a chance, please please have a realistic view of the situation, and do not blame ArenaNet for the shady actions of an unrelated business.

Thanks Gaile, you are the first to respond on this problem.

While we were unaware that we bought keys from an unauthorized retailer, I think most of us accepts that the key is rejected and most of us got or will get a refund from these retailers.
Our original core game however had a good key. We spends lots of time building it up and now it is also suspended. This should be given back. I am sure most of us are willing to buy HOT in game once we can go back to playing.

All those duplicate tickets just slow down the process so much more. It really is unfortunate; never make a duplicate ticket, just update the original one. No wonder there is such a backlog.

Quote from support: “Further replies regarding this issue may not receive a response.”

If they answer your ticket with this (and clearly did not read what you wrote) creating a new ticket about the core game instead of HOT is almost the only thing you can do.

That is often a semi-automatic reply. I got it on all my ticket responses when my account was terminated. Just keep updating your ticket, because creating a new, duplicate ticket only slows down the process; they will just add the new ticket to the old one, eventually, but in the meantime the new ticket will generate the same automated replies.

Or, do as you feel is best. Those of us familiar with how the CS Team works can only offer advice.

Good luck.

Sadly I had to much experience with the support team in the last 3 years.
At first they were helpful and fast (really very good support at that time), but then they got some “media” or “how to handle public” or something training, and now you get these semi-automated replays that almost never actually are about the question you had. It even feels like they just don’t read them. Usually after asking several times to help you, they read the problem and help. What I also experienced is that writing when angry or trying to explain the whole problem does not help. A very simple line, very polite, almost even begging, is often the fastest way to get it fixed.
If the client has to wait to long, maybe the system is wrong, there is a lack of staff or (and I don’t mean to imply this, it just is a possibility) there is a lack of competent staff.

Account Suspension after HoT Question

If players would have been somewhat more fair to the Devs and paid them properly for their hard work or something, this mess could have been avoided (no need to suspend accounts created with fraudulent keys). =/

I’m sure the CS Team will address each applicant’s issue as fast as they can work through the queue.

Good luck.

I does not look like there is a que. Some people that posted their tickets later, already got it fixed, while others did not even received a response yet.

I thought the dev’s get paid by contract, regardless of how much a retailer sells the product. And maybe a variable bonus is added depending on the number of sales but usually not the price.
ncsoft sells these keys to retailers for a fixed or agreed price. The retailer then decides at what price he wants to sell it. Paying more for the game does not mean ncsoft will earn more on it. And when you buy from a retailer you expect them to have paid the correct price to ncsoft. In this situation it seems that the suppliers of the retailer did not have an agreement, something a costumer can’t know.

I get that it is very busy and they can not handle all the request. But a simple message that they know the issue and will solve it in a short future would already be helpfull. It is the silence and lack of communication that is a problem.

If you order at a restaurant and something is wrong while the waiter is very busy. You would be angry and leave if he keeps ignoring you, but a simple sign that he will come or look into it when he finds time can do wonders.
Support is a service. And communication with the client is extremely important.

Some do. Through the Ultimate Collection for the 4000 gems to convert to gold to give their gold buying clients. Hence why a delay was put in place for the handing out of the gems.

They would not hack an account and upgrade it, they would simply create a new account (with fake information on it) with the HOT key.

You said that players who have bought gems should not have their account suspended if they buy a fraudulent key. That’s treating those who can and those who can’t differently.

Where? I do not read that in my posts.

People should research any site they buy from to make sure it’s a legit site that doesn’t sell fraudulent keys. If a person uses a site that has a rep for selling fraudulent keys knowingly or unknowingly, then they shouldn’t be surprised if they find their account suspended for buying a fraudulent key. Because they chose to use a site that they knew sold those keys or didn’t take the time to research if they did.

This has been addressed here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Purchased-expansion-Account-not-upgraded/page/2#post5655019
The site has the status Good in trust reviews. There is a relatively good amount of good reviews compared to bad ones.

There’s a mixture of suspend and HoT access removal because it is possible to just buy HoT without having the core game. Those without a separate core GW2 key likely get suspended as they don’t have a legit key. Those with a core GW2 key likely just get their HoT access removed as they have a core game key that’s legit.

Almost everyone who got suspended already had the core game for a long time. There were only a few that got HOT removed as it should have been for everyone. It was addressed by the game lead support (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/GW2-Tickets-for-Review-7-days-older-1/page/9#post5655004) as an error, but only that 1 person got his account back that way as far as we know.

Then how are you able to post in the forum? Account suspension usually also includes lack of forum access.

Either way, I’d contact support and go wtf, my core game key is legit, why am I fully suspended?

Account and forum access is still possible. Also the core key is still linked and even active. HOT is not active. And only the game client is suspended.

I think we almost all contacted support already 3 days ago, and some made multiple tickets since they told they would not replay on the first ticket anymore due to it being for a non authorized key. Support ignores the part of being suspended and/or the fact that we had a valid core game and only reacts on the HOT key. That is why some people made a second ticket or went to the forum for unsolved tickets.

More like Anet has just lost a nice amount of customers.

I submit that if you’re buying illegitimate keys from 3rd-party vendors, you are not in fact an ArenaNet customer.

That person had the intention to be a customer. And when he gets a refund from the company who sold that key (looks like everyone is getting his refund) and buys a new key from an approved site, he is a customer. And that only applies for the persons who did not had a core account already. Many of us had a legit core account and were already costumers.
Bad support or no support at all means you loose costumers or potential costumers.

oooh, so this was the place where someone from Anet told something about better not buy from 3th party.
“Some sites are good, some are bad, but we will not give you all the good ones so just try your luck or buy for more at our store..”
Many people got their account suspended now!
Why did Anet not made an official point on this thing and told exactly where to buy and where not and why did they not communicate this on front page news, but do we need to delve deep into the forum for this?!
And if this was not possible, why do they suspend the accounts off all these VICTIMS without giving any support, information or warning at all?!
This is not how you threat the community Anet!

And what if they missed a site that’s good? What if a site is legit when they review it but then starts stealing keys due to change of management? So they only keep a list of authorized sellers and don’t maintain a list of middlemen between the authorized sellers and players.

And they suspend the accounts because ANet does not know if the player is a victim or a willing participant in the deal. And those who would steal keys would lie and say they weren’t aware the site dealt in stolen keys, so asking about it wouldn’t be a good solution.

They should INFORM the user first that his key is not good and just not activate HOT (or downgrade AND give information). Also, they should NEVER suspend the other part of the account (core game). Communication is important. the lack is what gives everyone problems and also the time it takes to even get response or a solution. They should know about it by now, and they should have a list with affected players, so they can fix this scenario for everyone (downgrade the account instead of suspension).
If someone is playing for years on that account and has bought gems with it, changes are big it is not an fraudulent account!

And how is ANet supposed to know? There’s still a chance the player was aware that it was a fraudulent key. So the player who can’t afford to buy gems gets to have his account suspended while the one who can doesn’t? That’s unfair to the person who can’t afford to buy gems. They’re just as legit as the one who can.

The only fair solution is to treat every account the same. Because there is no litmus test that will determine whether accounts are legit or fraudulent with 100% accuracy.

I have never said to treat accounts with or without gems different.

Anet knows it is good since that player has been legit for all these years. I also don’t think an account that was actively used and was good for 3 years will suddenly be used by hackers or scammers to add a HOT key (that already includes core).
Point is that core key is good, expansion key is not. They should draw the line there.

And how would a player know he has a fraudulent key? I don’t think a key-generator or such exists, and I don’t think that if you buy a key they will tell you it is fraudulent.

When some person has a key that stolen or from fraud and use it Anet do not know if person that use key stole it or buy it. So they have to suspend until figure this out. That the way it work and make sense. You are not victim of Anet but victim of place you buy bad key from. You complain should be with place you buy key.

Where do you read that I say I am a victim of Anet?! Don’t put words in my mouth that I did not use!

However, If you consider that the core game was good for 3 years and now got suspended because of another key, and the lead game supporter stated this was a termination error, and support won’t help, then yes, you could say we are also victims of a mistake by Anet.
Furthermore support does not think/say we are a fraud or stole the keys, they say themselves that “the code in question was purchased from an unauthorized reseller.” It is only about them not having authorized that seller, the rest are speculations.

There is a lot on nonsense being told here.
Buying from 3th party is legal in Europe, and Anet has always supported it. Only now they are making it hard for us since they did not authorize every retailer and there is only an incomplete list of official retailers on their site. So you can never know if it is ok or not until Anet decides to suspend your account.
When they take any action, they NEVER communicate. For some reason they are just unable to inform their costumers.
The retailers on the list all ask 50 for the game. While in the past it was about getting clients and they didn’t look to much at how/where you got the key, now it is about getting money. The retailer you bought from was simply not authorized and probably got the key in an illegal way.

Account Suspension after HoT Question

I personally think that a full account suspension is simply rediculous.
They already revoke the expansion as soon as this happens, I really don’t understand the need for an account suspension.

If they would simply revoke the expansion, dispatch an email saying: Dear player, you applied a fraudulent CD Key for Heart of Thorns. We have removed access to the expansion from your account and suggest you get a full refund from your 3rd party retailer and repurchase the expansion through our official shop on guildwars2.com.

This would simply allow us to repurchase it and be done with it. Having to go through all this hassle with Support pretty much already killed my weekend which I planned free to enjoy the expansion.

It is a mistake! But Anet almost never admids mistakes. The Game Lead Supporter (Michael Henninger) did however:

Ticket number: 1883862

My friend Gifted me Hot Key from g2a, I been a customer since launch not a single issue, My account got suspended I opened a ticket and no response the expansion is gone from my account and am still suspended, like wtf how about at lest you let a person know why something happened to their account instead of taking actions first telling them to open a ticket to find out why and then not even caring about the ticket, Some people have issues with faulty keys, I dont even know if thats the reason I got suspended as support is taking its sweet time. atm I cannot afford the expansion so my friend gifted me a key that he bought, now he spend money for it, I lost my account and he lost his money and Anet just scammed the crap out of us (maybe no, but you will have to excuse my saltness been waiting to play this for months, 8 hours download, only got to play for two hours and boom).
You cannot treat your customers like this, I have bought the original game in the first week, and kept supporting your game via in game purchase over the years, just because times are tough atm I couldnt afford to get it myself, the funny thing is your game shop doesnt even have a gift option.

Account unblocked, terminated in error (apologies!). You’ll need to choose a new password; I’ve sent you an email for that.

Now we are all waiting to get the same service…
I cannot understand why everyone in the same situation gets a different service..
And I wonder if we ever get a compensation (in game) for their mistake.

I just received a mail from support about my original GW2 account. They need the code, some digits of my credit card and the order number. This account is 3 years old and I only have the key. Even my bank history doesn’t go that far!
….

I’d say explain that to them and in addition give them as much information as you can regarding your account. Check your mailbox for any Gem purchases you’ve made and supply those, give them a list of characternames you can remember, maybe the IP Address on which the account was created…things like that.

I assume they need proof of ownership.

I think the person from support is confused and is thinking about the recently bought HOT key. My GW2 key is still linked to my account so proof of ownership (even the code itself) should not be needed. It only needs to be unblocked.
My experience with support is that they almost never (!) read what you write in your e-mail. There is often a lot of misunderstanding.

It seems they are just a bunch of people following charts. If it’s not on the charts, they are not allowed to even answer. And they are never allowed to admit to be wrong. I guess they have to pass it or ask it to the devs or anyone higher in rank before they can do something that was not pre defined.

Buying Heart of Thorns from a third party here is a link now this is kind of dated but I think it still applies:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Buying-HoT-through-a-3rd-Party-Careful/first

Now here is a list of Anets official retailers that did sell keys at the release of GuildWars2 it’s not clear if they are officially allowed to sell HoT keys:

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/retailers/#UnitedStates-physical

Now if you bought a key from anywhere else besides the official sites you most likely got scammed and its on you to get your money back If you can. Anet will not oner fraudulent keys, good luck

Man I don’t know why you keep posting without reading other peoples posts…. many people who have the problem bought the game from Anet store. Many others from official retailers…

It looks like to me, looking through all the related threads on this issue is with purchasing the game from a third party vendor or retailer. the one that stand out the most is G2Play.net so there you go that’s why I’m posting this info and yes I do read that’s why I posted this here because a few stated they didn’t buy from the official GuildWars2 site.

It wasn’t really G2Play fault though, there was one fraudulent seller there from which I bought, seems everyone else did too. They already banned him and everyone can get a refund. Not defending anyone, just to get clear.

I checked. It’s true that you said. Hopefully they will lift the suspension for everyone afflicted with that fradulent seller.

The new policy of Anet is that none of the sellers that are not authorized by Anet should sell. While it is LEGAL in Europe for these party’s to sell, If they don’t get the codes from NCSoft, they are stolen/generated and thus illegal. All the codes from all the sellers on G2paly, Kinguin, G2A, CJS Keys, etc … are thus not allowed by Anet.

I just heard they might not work on Sundays…

Stop ignoring us with 4k displays!!!

4K is becoming more and more common. I have a dual 4K setup (bought 2 24inch 4k dell monitors on eBay) and the only game I play is GW2, several of my friends have similar setups.

I would like a bigger mouse pointer, since I always loose him (hides on the second screen). That is the most irritating thing about GW2 on 4K.
Interface can be scaled and is ok, but improvements are still needed.

Got upgrade, downgraded day after

What I still don’t understand is how they accept the codes in first place as valid. Let people play in the New zone/masteries/revenant the first hours after lunch. And then revoke all those keys again without explanation whats oever. If those keys were invalid then they shouldnt work in the first place right?

My understanding is that the keys are valid numbers but were bought by fraudulent means – stolen credit cards for example. ArenaNet accepts the key because they have no way of knowing otherwise. It is only when the payment is refused by the bank (because the stolen credit card was reported and all purchases stopped) that ArenaNet would know. This is why it can take several days. It is not a wise decision to buy from a cheap source. You end up hurting everyone involved, including yourself, and the only ones who profit are the thieves.

This is extreme specualtion. Most of these sites use not more and not less than the cost difference between countries. Did you know that a game in Russia costs up to 80% less than in the EU?

Most of these keys were bought through perfectly valid means. Someone, somewhere bought them and then resold them on cheaper sites, and know what the funny thing is? This is not against the law. Its at best against the terms of service of certain companies.

The question as to why anet is screwing with the players might be as simple as “they are making less money”.
Sadly, the market is full with their example of mentally handicapped kittens who then go and try to hunt down such keys, because in their opinion getting absolutely no profit, negative media and people who will never want to have anything to do with not only guild wars 2 but ANYTHING anet and ncosft kittens out, is simply worth it.
Hope they will work hard to get as much hate as possible.
They already got me on the hype train with suspending people left and right without any form of notification. You know, because they are not always kittens, but when they are, they think they can do literally anything to their customers.

so youre saying that if i buy my expansion in Russia with 80% discount in comparison to the Original price, even though the key is valid, they have all the right to take it away again because i didnt pay for it in anets store/country?

Seems some 3th parties are ‘authorized’ and others are not. While they all sell keys that validate, the ‘unauthorized’ keys get you suspended, also the core GW2 game that is!
If it is/was cheap, they probably won’t accept it.

I suggest keep talking to Support by replying to the email you were sent. They are probably very busy at the moment so may be slow in responding.

Some people the submitted a ticket only a few hours ago already got un-banned, while others with tickets from almost 2 days ago are still waiting for support..

Ok, another update, after creating second ticket, they unblocked my account.

“Hey,

I’ve gone ahead and restored access to your account. Please be mindful that the account was banned because of the potential for payment fraud. We understand that this isn’t always the case, but for security purposes, we must act accordingly. After further investigation, we are happy to return you to the game. We recommend you secure your log-in info since many illegitimate 3rd party Serial Code sellers are capable of stealing this information. We are glad to hear that you were able to get a refund!
Thank you for your patience, and understanding.

Regards,

GM Dr.Doctor
Guild Wars 2 Support Team"

Everything is fine, I have access to the game now, even though expansion access was revoked(got refund from retailer for that). Good luck everyone still experiencing the issue and thanks for this thread, where I at least found out wth is happening.

That is good news!
May I ask you how/when you made the second ticket and what you wrote in it? Maybe I wasn’t polite enough to support to actually receive any support..

Since the first announcement of Heart of Thorns, Anet has said to buy it from their site or an authorized retailer. Then all of you guys ignore that and buy it from an “Unauthorized” retailer. How is this Anet’s fault?

G2play or whatever is nothing but a scam site that sells stolen or fraudulent keys

1) Not everyone reads the forums or other channels.
It hasn’t been front page news and was not communicated per e-mail or in-game. So a lot of people simply do not know this.

2) I only learned about a “list” of authorized sellers after the problems, but Anet stated that list is not complete and may change in the future. So you cannot know who these official sellers are.

3) Most companies use re sellers (3th parties) to sell their product in order to reach out to more people. GW2 Core game and GW could be perfectly bought from almost every re seller without problems. This limitation when buying HOT is thereby completely new.

G2play looked like a trustworthy company since
1) The have relatively much more positive then negative reviews.
2) Several acquaintances on Facebook liked this page, thus they had a positive experience with them
3) They have Buyer Protection
4) You can pay using Pay Pal (which also protects transactions)
I am not stupid and I am skilled with computers, and such a site looked ok.
eBay would look riskier, yet it is used by millions of people including smart people.
This said, a lot of people have had problems with the original GW2 store now and in the past.

I just checked https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/GW2-Tickets-for-Review-7-days-older-1/page/9#post5655004

Someone got his one back already.
I must add however that this thread is ‘normally’ only for tickets that are 7 days and older, so I am not sure they will accept everyone posting there.

Since G2Play was not doing anything I went to the site of Kinguin, on the bottom there is a button with Live Support. I filled in the numbers from G2Play and got an instant live connection. That person helped me in seconds. I should expect a refund in 5 days. They got a lot of reports and can not react fast.
So that was some good news.

As for Anet, they should restore the vanilla game. Let’s hope we got some reaction there on Monday.
Problem is that buying a key from their site does not bring the suspended game back (I read). If someone found a way to revive those original accounts, please let it know.

This is the support mail I got from g2play today

Your Credit Memo #72014250 for Order #721056723

and I noticed something was reversed.

But only a second after I sent paypal after them, so hopefully not all is lost yet.

I still don’t have the money back but there is activity on the support team.

I also got that memo, but it looks like it is saying that i still own them the money I already paid. The cases look closed, no refund received!

Anet just deleted some forum threats about this topic!! Why?!

(http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:DaQ066ONRWUJ:https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/Wasted-Weekend-Thanks-Anet+&cd=3&hl=nl&ct=clnk&gl=be) → Last hours of discussion were lost in the cache

Threads are being deleted. Support doesn’t want to replay.

What can we do?!

I just conatcted kinguin and got a full refund, i also bought kinguin buyer protection

Still no answer from g2play (=kinguin) here

Use the live chat. They are very quick in there.

Life chat on g2play is sadly always offline.

I got 1 reaction from g2play.net telling me i did not buy the kinguin buyer protection! I did buy the buyer protection on g2play (i did not order on kinguin, but because of this response i think they are all the same company). Because they think i did not pay protection they wont help me, so they wont listen to the ticket trying to tell them i did pay for protection!! How stupid! I have 3 tickets on g2play now, 1 on paypal and 2 (1 for hot, 1 for gw2) at arenanet. None have offered ant solution or refund.

So i also got the same response ’’I’m sorry but we cannot assist with this request as the code in question was purchased from an unauthorized reseller" when i asked about it.

Customer service at Kinguin fully refunded me though (had the buyer protection as well luckily). They even gave me a small discount for my next purchase.

Hope you guys can get the same.

Was your original gw2 account suspended? Many of us have this problem and a refund will not bring back the original gw2 account. I can’t imagine loosing all the progress!

I don’t understand why Anet is taking this on their own costumers and not the companies selling these keys. It is like they don’t like their own community.

When entering the key, they should just have said that it was invalid and give a nice description about why this key was invalid.

Or do they think all of their clients dig into the forums to find out information about these things prior to buying? No, they just google “buy HOT” and take the cheapest!
