I’ve been after Twilight for so long now, but the prices for Dusk are next to impossible. Obtaining Eternity would be a dream come true.

It’s been like this since launch. The spider isn’t over scaling, it just isn’t a normal boss right from the start.

Even though the game says it’s normal, the Huge Ruins Spider has more HP than a champion-tier foe, without taking into account the amount of people actually trying to kill her. That’s why it’s so hard to kill.

Does picture quality have any weight in the veredict? Because if so, i’m screwed, my video card sucks.

I just finished W2Z3 after 3 tries,
Yesterday after 3 hours my game crashed, today after 2 hours I accidentally afk’ed and didn’t realized I ran out of lives, so I come back and find myself back at The Hub. But I already have a W2Z1 and a W2Z2 token, and my pride would’ve been hurt if I didn’t complete W2 entirely. How can I call myself a proud owner of 17 Green Weapons having collected 0 Yellow Weapons?

So I ventured into the most ulcer-inducing, rage filling, hair ripping thing i’ve ever had the displeasure of doing, and finished it! But not without stories to tell. I spent, literally, 1 hour on a part where it is a requirement to get hit by a No-No Cloud to slide through a bunch of 1 shotting Ice Spikes over annoying, slippery ice whilst being surrounded by gusts of annoying wind that pushed me towards more ice spikes that killed me. All this time, I was being chased by a kitten looking banana who froze me in the middle of all the No-No Clouds trying to fry me alive, the 1 shotting ice spike, the slippery ice and the pushing gusts of wind. 1 hour.

But, all in all, I love SAB, and I will always love it. I lowered my record of completing entire W1 Trib. Mode in 20 minutes to 9:30 minutes, and ran W2 complete (Alas, only once because I started W2 too late because I got obsessed with W1).

Now, though, let’s be realistic, SAB is the most acid-tripping creation made by mankind. I mean, I was climbing an ice-covered mountain whilst cubicle rams were raining over me. All of this while jumping over clouds and being denied entry through paths by sunglasses wearing clouds. I was also being chased by mean Polar Bears who were throwing ice at me to throw me off the mountain. I later threw bombs at a glacier and killed a giant square troll to go fight a mean asian-looking wizard who threw flying punches at me and later became a big flying dragon with a brown hat. Kudos, to whoever was smoking shrooms one day and decided SAB was to exist.

Keeping my fingers crossed so that the next SAB Trib. Mode Weapons are either Pink or Neon Purple <3

I’ve gotten 16 Green Weapons,
now i’m trying to finish W2Z3, spent 3 hours on it yesterday and ultimately had to leave because I had to go out, so, redo it all again. I hate it that you can’t save your previous location, seeing how long and stressful the kitten levels are.
Anyone know what time SAB will be gone tomorrow?

AC p1 is quite fun, IMO. Run doesn’t take more than ~10, and kholer is a neat boss for checking if people play with goggles on or not

Both AC p1 and p3, if done on a decent team (and by this I mean a team that had actually done it a few times before) is easy, fast and quite fun.

If your team can pull off the Spider Queen stack-strategy, the dungeon is quite easy. P3 is easier than P1 (in my opinion, due to the kill-all-burrows-while-defending-hodgings event), but both are quite easy. I ran it a lot for my main’s Staff, ran it a lot on Warrior to level him up, running it a lot on Mesmer to level her up, and will keep running it for gold now.

Daily p1/3 runs are fathomable.

My circuit will be:
CoF p1 > CoF p2 > AC p1 > AC p3 > CoE

CoF p1
CoF p2
AC p1
AC p3
Arah p3
CoE

With a decent team, all of these paths are easy as hell.
CoF = 1g
AC = 2g
Arah = 3g
CoE = 2g

Much slower than 5g p/ hour in CoF p1 farm, but it’s still a decent way to get money.

In theory, yes. No practice, no. You fear one foe. Great, others are still there delivering nice damage. The heal is rarely sufficient enough to heal while the damage is just to low. There is nothing with what would you buy time so you could rally.

We are not talking about dying against a single target or two of them. Against multiple ones.

I’m not a big WvW’er player myself, I’ll probably start playing much more WvW soon, but for now i’m talking mainly PvE.

In PvE the damage from Life Steal + Traited Fear + Poison chained with the permanent Life Steal from the #1 skill i’ve been able to tank (and rally) groups up 5+ high-end foes. And if I can’t rally, #1 Life Steal gives my team mates more then enough time to come revive me.

Now for WvW/sPvP, I wouldn’t really be able to tell you, since i’ve yet to play enough to have a solid argument for those game modes.

The order in each tier has no meaning, I didn’t put Necro above Ranger/Mesmer, I find them equal. Thinking about it now, I should put Engineer on Bad tier, it is indeed horrible.

Despite Xan Thav’s attempts to put a smiley face on the Necro downed state, your best bet is to simply let the death be complete and respawn.

I’ve been main-ing Necromancer since the BWE 1. To this day, I still havent had any trouble with reviving in PvE nor PvP (obviously not WvW, because that’d be a miracle to solo rez). So it’s not me “trying to put a smiley face” on the Downed State, it’s me pointing out my personal experience and success with it.

I actually find Necros to have one of the best downed state in the game.

Best:

Mesmer: I can easily put 7-8 stacks of Confusion on a foe which dies from hitting the Phantasm with confusion, best downed state imho.

Medium:

Warriors: If you have it traited, just 1/2 until it’s low enough, then Vengance up and it’s an assured revive.

Egnineers: The knockback/condition help, it’s decent damage, but not the best.

Guardian: Good damage, pushback + a ground heal, pretty good, but not enough for best.

Bad:

Thieves: Oh my god, I hate their downed state. It’s the worse, in my opinion, small damage, from only 1 skill, long cooldowns on the other 2. I hate it so much, I rarely kill anything even with the stealth > 1 combo.

Elementalists: Poor damage, no sustain. I rarely get up unless the mob is like at 5% hp. And Mist Form is useless since foes usually just follow you.

Ok, let’s simplify both cases:

Thaumanova: Explosion due to an experiment gone wrong.

Fall of Abbadon: A fight between gods.

Ok, now let’s put each in their rightful glory.

Thaumanova: Explosion that broke the space-time continuum due to an experiment gone very wrong.

Fall of Abbadon: The fight between 6 gods ending in the exodus of the most powerful entity of all of Tyria.

Bottom line is, anyway you want to put it, simplified or actuality, the Abbadon Fractal is superior. Sure, Thaumanova might be interesting, and i’m sure i’d be thrilled to know what happened there, but at the cost of losing the only possibility of seeing the gods GW2 render (including pre-cursed Abbadon), I just don’t think it’s cool/elaborate/epic enough.

Anyways, think about it, even if Thaumanova Reactor fractal loses, ANet will more than likely come up with a new Asuran experiment-esque mission/fractal/dungeon, since the Asura are such a big part of the game, whilst, if FoA loses, it’s pretty unlikely we’ll ever get to see it, or anything even close to it.

I don’t know why this is even a discussion.
I mean, lore aside, look at the implications of each fractal.

Thaumanova Reactor: Sure, it bends the fabric of reality and whatnot, but it’s still an Asuran experiment gone wrong. We already KNOW that the Inquest are behind it, and yeah some good lore can come from it, but as an Asura player, it’s the same scenario i’ve seen more times than I care for already. I see it daily on the FE meta, I saw it a bunch of times on the Story Mode, I see it daily on the Fractal… Asuran Experiment gone wrong WE’VE SEEN ENOUGH OF.

Fall of Abbadon: Offers a new and fresh material we’ve seen none of. It’s a complete different environment never before seen in GW1 nor GW2, it’s new renders of GODS, it’s a new epic boss we’ve only ever seen once. It’s something completely new and revolutionary.

It’s true, I’d like too see Abbadon due to the lore entitled to it, but mainly, I WANT SOMETHING NEW. I don’t want to vote to play something i’ve already played hundreds of times with a little lore, I want to see something new, different than what i’ve seen this past year.

I’m in Sorrow’s Furnace, and whilst the Early maps aren’t full of people, it’s not a ghost town either.

I do enjoy SF thoroughly, yesterday, out of sheer boredom is all I can think of, my server decided to form a huge zerk in LA and head over to Southsun Cove to spawn the Karka Queen not once, not twice, but three times in a row. It was hilarious xD

Back in Guild Wars 1, after he finished helping us and we set him free, he said it was only a one time thing, and he would go back to being evil. It was in the “Crossing the Sulfurous Desert” mission where we turn into the giant wurms, he says that in the ending cinematic.

So my vote is on him being one of the bosses in personal storyline for the Elona expansion… if we ever get it -_-

While I do like the idea of a “darker” staff, I don’t think that idea is good, since it’s way to speciffically for necros. It needs to be something more neutral.

I’d like something like moving wings on a stick with awesome effects. It’d be fun, Angelic Wings at day, Demonic Wings at night xD would be so awesome

I love the Bifrost, that’s the one i’m currently going for, and yes, I AM a Necro. So I’m probably going to wait and see the new Legendaries :p But I still love me some Bifrsot, necro or not.

It’s entirely reasonable to expect a new precursor. I just don’t think we’ll be seeing another Greatsword precursor considering there are two.

I hope we don’t see any other Greatsword Legendary for 3 years to come. I’m so sick of them, everyone and their moms have Sunrise/Twilight. ENOUGH GREATSWORDS! They already have the overall best skins in the game, completely contrary to Staff, Maces, etc, where all skins suck .

I’ve been solidly working towards The Bifrost for 3 months straight now, I’ve finished Gift of Mastery, I’ve got more than half of all my T6 Mats and like half of the requirements for the Gift of the Bifrost. So I can assuredly say, i’m around 50% of the way.

I’ve decided to wait out on the new Legendaries, because the more than likely thing is that something I like more than Bifrost will pop up, and I would regret finalizing the Bifrost if something I DO like more comes out…

So for now, i’d just like to know if the new Legendaries will still require G. of Fortune, G. of Mastery, G. of Specific-Legendary and Precursor (which will require more gifts by itself), or will it be like “New G. of Bullkitten! Now requires 250 of T7 mats” leaving us all like “uuuuuuuuhhhhhhh”

Given how I read the blog post, I don’t think we have to worry about this. It seemed – to me – like the only thing that will be changing is the fact that you’ll be able to craft a precursor, in ADDITION to getting it through RNG or mystic toilet. I certainly am not going to rush finish my Meteorlogicus. Why would they change the parts of the system that no one has complained about? Everyone has been fine with the system of the various gifts.

Just theorycrafting and guessing here, but do you think that the Precursor for the new Legendary Staff will still be the Legend? Or will there be 2 Staff Precursors, one for each staff…. If there’s even a new staff. It’d be a bummer to wait so long to see new Legendaries and then see there’s no new legendary of the weapon you like :P

Anyways, I do hope they use the same Precursor, meaning there’s only 1 staff pre, 1 Shortbow pre, 1 dagger pre, etc..

For those of you who just came into the Forums and are wondering what the hell everyone has their jimmies rustled about, here’s a compilation of the changes that were talked about today.

1. -New Legendary weapons for more options when it comes to looks.
- New Legendary trinkets, most likely rings and necklaces.
- Legendaries will now have to option of changing their stats when out of combat, as to remove the need of Transmuting them. Meaning, if I need to change my build to Support instead of DPS, go out of combat, click your weapon, and select your desired Stat combo!

2. Precursor recipes will be added, thank god. They will be hard to obtain through crafting, but the option will be there, including the req. of some lvl. 500 crafting professions, new crafting materials only obtainable through crafting . (Meaning there’s a surefire way of getting them, but it will be hard)

3. All Crafting professions will be increased to 500. You can craft Ascended gear at lvl. 500, only 1 piece a day.

4. Magic Find as item stat is being removed and replaced by Account Bound Magic Find. Compensation for current Magic Find gear is on the works, but has not yet been discussed.

5. New Account Bound crafting materials will drop as daily loot for completing daily activities (eg. Jumping Puzzles, Explorer Achievements, WvW raids, etc.)

6. Champions will now drop Reward Boxes when they are killed, these boxes include money, new skins, crafting material, lodestones, etc.

7. New Skills and Traits will be added. New ways to get Skill Points will be also added for those who cannot get any more Skill Points from map anymore.

8. Dungeon bosses will NO LONGER DROP MONEY, now they will drop the previously mentioned Reward Boxes (completely nullifying Gold Find). Bonus gold will be awarded for the first completion of a dungeon path (subsequent runs of the same path will yield much less money).*

9. New weapon choices will be added to each Profession, including new skills. (This might not be this year, but it’s in the works!)

10. New weapons are in the works.

11. 3 new fractals will be added by the end of the year: Aetherblade Retreat, Molten Alliance and The Fall of Abbaddon/Thaumanova Reactor depending on who wins the upcoming Council Elections.

12. New System for collectables storing is on the works. Yay for more bank space!

13. New PvP rewards and combat system.

Additional Notes:
-Although Johanson couldn’t commit to a timeframe, new weapon types and expansion of current types to more classes is absolutely in the works.

-There will be new Legendary Weapons based on current weapon types, as ArenaNet wants to provide players with more variety in looks and themes for the powerful weapons. One new type of Legendary gear will definitely be putting in an appearance this year and will likely be a trinket such as a ring or amulet. Several of the current Legendaries will also receive appearance-enhancing makeovers.

Really, Nate? You d/c right when he’s about to die after 3 hours of killing countless Karkas, after a whole weekend doing the Events, anxiously looking forward to my chance of getting a free Precursor and some Exotic Weapons. You completely waste 3 hours of your life for a reward that you, most unfairly, did not get? It’s not my fault the Servers couldn’t handle the amount of people and decided to shaft me out right when my Server was killing the Karkas.
Your answer was completely ignorant, cold and mean.

This is not fair at all!
I spent the whole weekend playing, and the whole massively-laggy, overly annoying, way-to-long event killing annoying Karkas and rezzing people, when, finally, we are killing him I d/c and take AGES to come back. What happens then? The karka is a pile or ash and I have no chest.

3 hours killing stuff, lagging like i’ve never lagged before. The most annoying thing i’ve EVER done in my life. And I get no rewards… This is annoying. Isn’t there anyway to be compensated? I know of countless people that d/ced, having to suck up all the “OMG LOOK AT MY LOOT […] HEUHEUHE” in /m… It’s unfair. Balantly unfair. Why should I suffer ’cause the servers were massively clogged?

It’s not fair, SOME kind of compensation would more than fairly be in order >>
