WvW only skills and abilities are coming in a patch in Feb. Sounds a lot like the DAoC RP’s. Hopefully more armor and weapons are available for purchase via Badges and the prices are more reasonable so i never have to PvE again.

I really hope RTL doesn’t get nerfed. The thing that makes the D/D ele work as a bunker is the mobility. We can’t stand toe to toe and soak up damage like a Guard can. The thing the allows us to survive is that we can get in and out of the fray.

Ele’s are not OP because A. Our damage is laughable and B. look at A. We are a distraction in combat with healing support and easily taken out if targeted. The only thing we have going for us is our ability to escape before we are targeted. If mist is on CD and we get immobilized its game over. I really hope ANET doesn’t destroy the ele because its the most fun to play IMO.

If bunker Ele’s are a problem in sPvP nerf them there only. They are not an issue in any other realm of the game. Bunker Guards are more of a problem in WvW and take less skill but neither are really a problem. If anything I think some classes need a buff and some need a tweak here or there but not a big red nerf bat.

Isn’t there a red ring on the ground that tells you to move you’re about to get hit by ranged AoE? I play WvW most of the time and don’t have a problem with AoE. I have an 80 mesmer, warrior and ele and have put a good amount of time in WvW. Ranged AoE is useless unless in a zerg and even then its so easy to dodge.

I really don’t get where this is coming from. If this escalated from the 4v30 vid or whatever it is………..would you nerf AoE if 4 players killed 30 afk players with AoE because essentially thats what happened. The lesser skilled players stood there in the AoE and made no effort to escape or rush the 4 players. In the end the probably learned something and will be better off in the long run. We were all new at some point and learned the hard way but we are where we are because of it.

On Gates of Madness there hasn’t been a queue since early on but what about the mid and upper tiers?

in your builds I would change the 10 trait in Strength to Restorative Strength and change your heal to healing surge. Just my $0.02. You will remove the conditions that will keep you from escaping and get much bigger heals than with mending. It also fills your adrenaline bar now.

Leveling a warrior is extremely easy, they are god’s in PvE.

WvW they excel in small groups. I use a hammer/S+Sh and have good escape but I have a hard time 1v1 against ele’s and guards. They have to much sustain while I do not have the damage or sustainability to go toe to toe with them. 1v2 lvl 80’s is really hard with a warrior. You don’t have the damage output or damage mitigation.

In small groups I am a beast though. Blowing up the front line with Earthshaker is a blast. Follow it up with Hammer 3 then 4 and your group will usually have them downed or running by the time they have a chance to get off the ground. Stability is your worst enemy with a hammer.

You would probably be best off with a rifle in your arsenal but its not my playstyle so I can’t comment much on that.

I have been using Hammer/S+Sh for a while with some success and can 1v1 any class except guards and some ele’s.

The build i’m posting is slightly modified but I plan on going with Hammer/S+Axe. I will use steal health on crit food for Axe #5. I will be going with knights gear and runes for boon duration and swiftness duration to keep SoR up as long as possible.

Does the timer for the trait kick in if you use endure pain from the skill bar?

I have not seen the trait used once but i don’t usually look down to see if it being used, if your at 25% or less health my eye’s are focused on other things. I have been looking down recently though and have yet to see endure pain activate at 25% health. I’m not sure if this is because I used endure pain from the skill bar.

Use the hammer to blow up everything when you get in trouble switch to S+Sh then pop endure pain +Dolyak signet and use sword 2 to escape and you still have Shield 5 for blocking if you need a long escape. You can also use charge to escape if you need to but thats better used to start a knock down chain with the hammer.

I had 10 in Strength but it was a waste because I use the hammer burst every chance i get so I put that in tactics to get Shrug it off.

Good at 1v1, 1v2, excels in Group battles blowing up the enemy zerg ball with the hammer then switching to S+Sh to escape, heal and do it all over again.

Yes they are. I switched out the balanced stance trait for the hammer trait though and took the dolyak rune for stability.

I have 0/0/30/20/20 and I use this for WvW and PvE. Hammer/S+Sh. Zerker Armor and knights everything else.

Good survivability, good damage, great CC with the hammer. Mesmers are annoying in WvW until you charge > Hammer 5 > then the use decoy so I use hammer 3 to immobilize, hammer F1, hammer 4 and its GG

Thanks for that, just what i’m looking for. I will have to look at runes but i think 2 holbrak, 2 something, 2 something will have more +boon or + might duration.

No glass cannon, can do damage but survive. Right now I have a Hammer with S/Shield and I like it a lot but I wanted to change things up little and try the ole GS out.

I only WvW and am running CoF to get armor.

WvW is great 1v1 or in groups and you have a lot of escape with this build. I have gotten away from groups beating on me with the leaping, shield 5, and Endure pain.

I started with the build used in the Matale 7 vids on youtube and changed it up a little. He had 10 in strength for +12% damage with full adrenaline but i use the hammer burst as much as possible. I also changed some of the skills from what he uses.

This build gives good damage and good survivability. You can watch the vid on youtube to see if it looks like something you might be interested in.

I think it cost me around 8G to cap Jelewler and about the same to cap weaponsmithing. What is the cheapest one to cap?

I’ve been running a build based on this video (I think I am pretty close to what they are running) and it is pretty amazing. It’s the most fun I think I’ve ever had on my warrior, and I feel more useful to my group in both dungeons and WvW than ever before.

Can you share the build? I’ve been looking to fine tune a WvW tank build similar to this. I will probably go with a hammer though.

With the Centaur runes and the focus you will have perma swiftness. Last night I attacked a group of 30 and I led them away from a tower we we taking as a group of 5. They chased me around the map but could not catch me with blink and perma switness. We ended up getting the keep because they chased me so long, noob move on their part but sometimes thats WvW. After 4-5 mins of chasing me most bailed but there was a ranger and warrior still following. I cast the iZerker while they were following, turned around and I ended up taking them both down.

The pros of this build are that you will have high DPS, great escape mechanics, and will also been handy during a siege with izerker and feedback.

Cons are low HP’s but you should very rarely die. If things get hairy….Decoy > Blink > heal (if you are crippled heal will remove a condition with Menders Purity) or Focus #4 and you are gone. The only thing you will have trouble with is thieves ganking but who doesn’t.

I was using pistol for a while but the Focus has been such an upgrade especially when traited. Focus #4 gives swiftness, applies cripple, can pull targets (even off keep walls and cliffs) and reflects projectiles. When you combine this with the warden its silly how much control and damage you can do. If someone is attacking you at range focus #4 between you to reflect damage back to them, hit 4 again to pull them > 5 to get the warden for heavy damage, reflection and bleeds > sword 3 then 3 again to immobilize and 2 finish them off, if not they will try to escape but you take out the GS > 4 and they are toast.

I rarely lose 1v1 or even 1v2 with this build and casting warden and berserker into a zerg can take a big chunk of health from it.

@ANet how about a spectator mode for WvW streamed from a Webpage. I know that’s an insane request but that would be great.

The fluctuating score has been easy to predict all week. I think the players from each server are in different time zones. I go to bed and we have the map, i wake up and its all gone, then the cycle repeats.

+1 for removing from WvW

right now numbers > skill. If 2 can win vs 6 thats how the battle should play out,right now its not possible. There are times i know i can take out a target or 2 and possibly get away but I stopped trying because they get rezzed and I end up across the map at the WP.

Also you can buy the commander title with gems = more $$ for ANet. Thats the only logical reason as to why the title is bought with gold.

Make it more then but the jist of it is it should be the currency you get from WvW not PvE

500 Badges of Honor to buy Commander title. That way you at least have to have spent a good amount of time in WvW and should have a clue whats going on.
