@DiogoSilva.7089 What i mean by illusion of progression is that once you reach a relevant ‘power level’ in GW2 you will stay relevant. In other game, when they do a major update, raise level cap, new gear, your once relevant toon eventually become obsolete and you need to work on your toon just to stay relevant.. Bigger number is the illusion of progress here. This is both the strong point and the weakness of GW2 tho, because most people are so used to having stronger and stronger gear in other mmo that farming for just a skin in GW2 seems pointless
GW2 capture the essence of gear without giving you the illusion of content and progression. Other game will bring you higher level cap, better and stronger gear that will then be mandatory, illusion of progress and content. Illusion of content because the better gear will make older content meaningless and obsolete, and illusion of progress because you were strong enough to do the end-game content, but then you need to re-grind your gear every new update just to actually reach your previous capacity as end-game toon. GW2 doesn’t provide such illusion and let you keep your power level, and doesn’t let old content become obsolete. The point for those hard to get item is in the rarity itself, not illusion of progression.

You will still experience massive FPS drop in big fights because the game mainly utilize single thread on your CPU. About your setting, go wild, GTX1070 is way overkill for GW2.. Just need maybe a 20GHz CPU for the game not to be bottlenecked by your CPU maybe lol
I do believe that weapon shouldn’t be locked by spec, i think it’ll be better if all weapon available for all class. That said, Weapon locked by spec are game mechanic that’s completely unrelated to lore so it was never a case of our character forgot how to use a weapon by changing trait.
Procured, basically means that it happen
Shouldn’t happen imo. HoT not even required to play PoF, so only those who own both expansion can have 4 Specialization, and that means a massive powercreep gated by a paywall.
I bought the whole package for $50, $30 for Trilogy and $20 for Eye of the North. It was all for Fiery Dragon Sword, i think i got the 10 HoM points needed within 10 days.
For me, GW1 really worth it even at that price because the quality of the game is real. Only bad thing from playing GW1 is that when u get back on GW2 u unconsciously tap space to attack for the first 10 minutes

That could make Warrior a bit too dangerous imo. Lets say a Burnzerker, defense for adrenal and discipline for fast hands. If you move the fast hand to defense then that burnzerker can get Arms for additional condi and bleed power without sacrificing any of Adrenal/Cleansing, or Fast Hands.
You get max-level boost right away.
Heart of Thorn is a separate purchase, if you pre-purchase PoF for $30 for example, you can then add Heart of Thorn access on top by paying $20 more for a total of $50, and you can access HoT right away. If you pay only for PoF, you wont get HoT.
As someone who recently sold their custom gaming desktop & gaming laptop to get a 2016 MacBook Pro touchbar (16gb ram, radeon pro 455 2gb, 2.7ghz i7, etc), I would love to know hear some feedback on this as well.
I’m about to download the Mac clients and try, but am not sure if 32 bit or 64 bit is the way to go, or even if it’s worth trying inside of OS X?
Is it bootcamp or bust?
Radeon 455 is almost as powerful as GTX 960M, and your processor is an i7-6820HQ.. its a godlike processor, and this game doesn’t really hard on GPU and rely more on CPU. I think the game will run smoothly on your Mac.
For comparison, my brother’s laptop use GTX 960M and i7-6700HQ and he play GW2 just fine on good setting constantly pulling in 50+ FPS @1080p. Your GPU only weaker by bout 2% and your CPU is much better.

I think GW2’s UI is super fine, most other MMO’s UI is a mess, too many things on screen
I gt back to the game around 2 weeks ago and already decided to stay out of PvP. People actually being rude and reporting me for using Treb in Kylo, it was one of my fav map bcs blasting Treb on the clock can net me 10-11 kills, now it seems to be a sin to use Treb at all
Space… I maintain that the next expansion will take place in space. The new thing will be spaceship mounts. The new elites will be Astro-Knight (Warrior), Spacelord (Guardian), Dark-Star (Rev), Space-Cowboy (Engineer), Xenomaster (Ranger), Warp-Rider (Thief), Photonicaster (Mesmer), Cryomage (Necro) and Red-Shirt (Ele).
And you can pick a side between Jedi/Sith
Next will be Wings like every Chinese MMO ever. Everyone hover 10 cm off the ground.. And open world PK, and GvG
40-45 FPS moving around bank area in LA. Laptop hardware tho..
Specs: i7-6700HQ 2.60GHz, GTX 980M 8GB, 32GB RAM
Edit: My brother’s laptop with just a GTX 960M runs GW2 smoother than mine constantly pulling in 5-10 more fps, on higher setting than me

This is a good expansion for GW2. Other game will simply add new Dungeons with new better, stronger, shinier BiS gear for Raid along with raised level cap.. by 5.
GW2 always worth every penny so long as you keep in mind that its not any other mmo, GW2 is fundamentally different
A-Net please take my money, please fix the store.. pleeeaaaase
In my opinion,
1.) isn’t the PvP not kind of too predictable?
A: There is enough build diversity in this game, but PVP kinda predictable due to meta. For example, when you see Guardian, you can be kitten well sure they’re using some kind of trap build.
2.) isn’t the PvP not becoming dull rather quickly?
A: Differ from person to person, for me 5v5 PvP kinda dull, but the war between 3 servers is endlessly fun.
3.) what makes the PvP challenging/competitive?
A: For WvW its about working in a team, or organize what u can with what u got when outnumbered. Lately i feel WvW is always crowded so that makes it challenging, and competitive. Arena style PvP is just like DOTA where u earn rank thingy based on ur record, and u can show the badge for bragging rights. And you cant really outstats someone, when you win, you win it with ur build and better playing skill.
4.) How active is the community? How populated are the areas, bosses?
A: Very active. There will always be people doing all kind of content everywhere, especially if you use the LFG tools.
5.) Is it actually worth it to play GW2 for mainly PvP?
A: Many people play only for PvP, worth or not i cant say. You can use DoT build on any class here, so u can scratch ur Affliction Warlock itch for sure. Rogue here is Thief, and thief got access to Stealth and toying around with people in PvP or WvW, mind games and keep people guessing.
6.) So – which classes would fit me? Mesmer for the mind games, or is it the Rogue?
What about conditions/dots? Which class would go hand in hand with it?
A: Dunno, mesmer can be mesmerizing, and Thief got cool armor and style. All class can main condi just fine.

LOL, i saw someone running around with that sword in Silverwaste a few days ago. I’m playing GW1 right now gunning for that sword and the game is fun, i dare say the system is actually better than GW2 as it allows more diverse build.
Clean your laptop, or you can manually throttle ur processor by tuning down min/max processor state in power setting. Sometimes, tuning down max processor state from 100% to 99% means around 10°C cooler proc. Use CPU-z to determine the effect of each % because some processor only got like 4 speedstep and freq change only happen at 85%, or 75%, or whatever
