You all are misinterpreting this post anyways. Seems to me he/she is saying that elitist/perfectionist turned him into one. Seriously people, try to read between the lines. Most of you are totally missing the point here. I for one see it… kitten I am glad I ain’t an elitist or perfectionist. I just enjoy whats left of the kitten game.
Take too long is a relative term. This game has the shortest dungeon runs of any game I have ever played.
Many viable builds exist for classes. Granted some are more favorable than others such as the “Auto-Attack” build for each class. Press 1 once then go for a bio, #1 build for most dungeon bosses.
Kill content eh. Considering the gear is not a step above what you can buy or make after a couple hours of play what is the purpose of running dungeons? Certainly not the challenge. Certainly not a time sink. Certainly not a learning experience. What exactly should a person do after putting 100 or so hours into the game?
Compensate…. Really!!! Many would consider the easy cheesy runs that have existed for months to be more then enough compensation for years of play. In fact, what about removing all the gear and money gained by exploiting, that seems fair.
You obviously haven’t played many dungeons outside of COF p1 and you obviously haven’t played many mmos if you think dungeon runs are the shortest of any mmos.
Dungeons exp are run for the tokens in exchange for gear for players that don’t craft. It’s an alternate way to get their gear. Making it too hard for those players or removing the rewards would effectively “kill” the content as I originally explained.
And what can a person do after playing for 100 hours? How about wvw or spvp? How about exploring 100% of the map?
I clocked nearly 900 hours in this game since it launched and I still run dungeons.
If I were just teamed up with clones of my self I’d have 0 problems with any dungeons in this game. The main problem is a dungeon takes a team of 5 different people, and a majority of the times you get inexperienced or bad players.
Previously this was a nuisance, now it means team wipe and disband and more wasting time looking for others.
This unintended consequence is something people like you never considered when you post your rants about how “easy” things are.

That’s the thing, you cannot way point if everyone is in combat. But in situations as Bacon says, it needs to get some kind a change in circumstances.
To skip, to cheese or to kill all enemies in a dungeon. Everyone has their own way of handling the situation of a dungeon. If you do not like the way they handle it?? Then perhaps you do not belong with their group. You will only ruin it for the rest of the population (that is probably hanging by a thread) of the game itself. Once again it comes to.. this game is for EVERYONE. Not just you! Why can’t people see this??

Okay, so I went with a group in AC story mode last night. And for some reason, it actually went well, no kidding really. Anyways, I did a stupid mistake and died far away from where my group were. I think I accidentally killed myself by the spikes coming from the floor. While my group was still in combat against stalkers up north of the map. I couldn’t rez at all even though I died no where near my group. Maybe this needs to change? Like, you cannot way point unless you are near your group or at some distance near them. Not like miles away from them. I wonder if you could do this Anet? =)
It is better that you go with 5 and 5 all the time. Not 1 or 3, I don’t know how those players are doing it solo or whatever. They are probably elitest and exotic geared out. Anyways, always 5… just stick to that number =)
its not about the exploit fix, its about the waypoint being unable to be used. its not the case where we are ress-rushing or wtv its called, but sometimes ress is just impossible in certain situations especially guiding new players. how can people learn when things are set to be at elite mode and they are “barely legal”?
i dont really see the point in all this tho, i wouldn’t have said anything on the forums and stayed as a mute all the time if i had the choice but for Christ sakes, cant they just make an elite dungeon mode instead of ruining the fun for another group of people?
people learn and advance slowly in steps, as you have learned before all those patches that have occurred. if this was implemented from the start, i got nothing to say, everyone started the same. but changing it half way is just.. sigh..
do you remember your own first ac run? cm run? coe or arah? imagine if you cant wp, you dont see anything. there is no “experience” in that staying dead.
I would have to agree with you. Death in an unfortunate circumstance or bad luck sucks. But there are ideas out there that were thrown in from a lot of players for inserting a hard mode or something. And it is good you said something… all opinions can make this game awesome.
This putting effort into damaging bosses and mini bosses is in all Dungeons. If you die near the end or half way through a boss. Yah, you can’t loot them and yes it isn’t fair. It happened to me many times. That is of course, if you don’t get rez’d in time. A slow process I must add… -.-
I still say that ANET is not looking at the big picture here. Sure make the dungeons harder for the more geared out groups of players. But, why do companies like this always forget about the smaller groups of people. Who by now, hopefully ain’t giving up soon. This game was suppose to be for everyone! It is what made it different. My guardian has 2 sets of exotic armor, dps/tank and healing/condition removal. And I try to help out the low levels in AC and AC EX. But because their levels are low and mines scaled down. They don’t have the proper dps or stats to finish it. So having not gave up trying to teach them and to tell them, things need to go slowly now. Most just leave and give up. All in all, I feel I was forced to become Support now. Can’t play the way I want too anymore… if I constantly change traits it will cost me a whole lot more. I don’t know what to say anymore…

Exactly, or use evade. But some of these players are right. It is hard to predict if he will do it in 5 secs. or 30 secs. Because he likes to do it when he feels like it lol. But one thing is for sure… lots of practice and patience. I need to learn that. When I fight him with a group, I try to use Retreat, Stand your Ground, and the Aegis Virtue. the only sucky thing about it is learning the timing to do them.
And another thing, sadly… I wear my healing gear as a Guardian. I sure wish Kohler wouldn’t keep attacking me when I try to heal haha. =D
Sounds to me all these elitest or high lvl exotic wearer’s forgot where they started. Kinda sad to see this MMO turning out to be like WoW or Rift. Really sad…
But laying on the ground and waiting can become somewhat annoying. And waiting, and waiting, and waiting… there has to be a better way to make the dungeons more challenging other than this.

I just hope with this change. The population of GW2 will not faulter and fall. I am reeeally hoping it doesn’t. It is such a beautiful and amazing MMO. prays
Activating Virtue of Resolve does not work for some odd reason now. The regenerating buff does not show up at all on my screen nor my groups screen. And we do not get healed at all either.
