But after playing I find that the no trinity and all classes can do everything makes everything homogeneous. The world bosses and dungeons are just a gankfest. And there aren’t any real gear upgrades at level 80, so you’ve experienced the content once there’s really no point of keep grinding the dungeons. Theres no satisfaction of getting more powerful as you keep playing like most rpgs.
Just some thoughts from the grey jelly between my ears:
I liked the idea that LOTRO had in regard to legendary weapons, that gain exp on their own and be upgraded from time to time, but they did not have at start, it took some time to put that together. Maybe armor could have something similar?
I loved the personal stories from SWTOR, I did not play every class, but the ones I did I enjoyed greatly. I still miss Hut Ball, lol, but keg brawl is fun, it just needs some obsatcles and maybe a couple of additional levels/platforms.
I love the anti-trinity in GW2. I do think the bosss fights need some additional mechanics for players to contend with, there are some, but most groups simply adopt the zerg-fest tactic instead of giving thouth to the fights. The respawn and run back into the fight is just too easy. Add some specific needs for buffs/debuffs, some crowd control, and mix in tihe the heals and dps. Have the bosses turn some of the players tactics against them. Have some puzzles in boss fights to work through. I have not really run any Fractals yet so maybe that has been implemented there.
GW2 is just getting rolling. I love the dynamic feel of the game and look forward to seeing more. Happy new year!
Translation fo OP:
I am bored and there are not as many people running around in my zone so the game must be dying.
How many of these lame posts must we endure?
I think the way to go is allow an engineer to select a ‘school’ of engineering that has some abilities that relefct teh character of the school, kits might be a way to do this. One y school might have some abilities for building / repairing golems, one might deal more with mechanical things (turrets?), one might have more to do with energy devices/weapons (flame thrower/plasma gun), another might have to do with transportation (flight, submersibles?) or whatever the devs can conjur from their fertile imaginations.
Just a thought.
No, don’t give us maces/hammers. Just fix our bugs and make weapon kits scale. I don’t need a hammer or ball of metal on a stick when I have a perfectly good wrench to smack whack and thwack with.
This is something I would dearly love to see:
“I would have been totally fine with the Ascended armor if it was just as good as exotic gear, but the infuse slot would be something for cosmetic stuff instead.
The infuse slot could just be for really, really, really awesome cosmetic animations that would appear on your character, or whatever.
Put whatever thing you will in your infuse slot and make wings appear on your character, a glowing aura which can be dyed, butterflies, bananas, carrots, bees, winds with leafs or whatever you like.”
So the door is being opened to a gear-grind with gated content. I know the company needs to make some money to keep this game financially viable but is this really the way to go?
What is a good mix of power, precision, and condition damage for a rifle/grenade build? Should you have any condition damage at all, concentrating on pwoer and precision only or is there a balance? What say you?
Well worth the money.
Still waiting on a OP engineer armor set. There are bits here and there that are interesting, but nothing like I want as an integrated set, A steam-engine backpack would be awesome. An exo-skeleton would rock! Armor sets that coordinate with the kits would be the best ever. I know its still early in the game, maybe in a few months…

A heavy spanner will serve quite well for bashing methinks.
Um, not in agreement on bows for engineers. Nope.
This is the kind of material that keeps me coming back to these forums. Looks like a fun build. The stealth bomber build posted a few days ago is another fun build to play with. I like seeing something other than the usual grenade build. Creative people on these forums.
Its not that you ar an Engineer. Its likely either your high toughness relative to your companions or you are staying closer ot the boss than they are.
