I believe that Charr and Norn males are the only men in this game.
When I see a human pretty boy in my party on PvP, I quit the match.
All of my characters have random silly names.
Being from Piken Square, I have never seen good RP in GW2. I only ever met RPers thinking it’s all about being as pompous as possible. I might have destroyed a few RP sessions with my comments/creative writing advices.
I always turn off sound when playing female Norn. Can’t stand this bland voice of a rubber potato.
I always run in when I see a fight of two enemy servers on WvW. My necro will get credits for 2/3 of both zergs before she dies.
I believe that Sylvari are just a better version of elves. Why better, you ask? Well they’re made of wood, making it a lot easier to burn them. Smells nicer, too. (Well, I really dislike elves. Sorry, salads.)
I gave away the only precursor that ever dropped for me. And it dropped after half a year of wasting money on Mystic Forge.
I made Sunrise and gave it to my Charr ranger although I always believed it to be one of the ugliest skins in the game. But I have way too much money and there is nothing better to spend it on.
I wish all the LS main characters except Taimi died.
Both of my Charr males wear armor that doesn’t cover their furry backs. I love looking at their backs when they run.
Warriors are the most boring class of all. Mine is a mule.

Want the human female animations back

If men are displayed as strong, muscular and powerful is that not the same kind of sexualization?

Strong, muscular men are a male power fantasy and not a female sexual fantasy. The problem here is that appearantly female characters are allowed to be anything, IF they are also “beautiful”, “feminine” and “sexy”, while male characters are not expected to be anything like that. They can just be powerful, strong, etc.
Already most of the female armor in the game is vastly dfferent from the same male armor in that it fulfills certain male fantasies, but even if I put on other armor, my characters are still animated to fulfill the forementioned requirement for females.
It’s not that everyone is asexual that’s the issue, the issue is if females can be anything but sexual. We are actual persons and don’t exist to serve male fantasies and needs. And so should my character.

So now ugly women don’t stretch?
If female characters can’t stretch because men might like it (and anything that appeals to them is apparently unacceptable), than Charr can’t rawr cos it turns me on.

Most women don’t stretch the way the female human toons did in this game. The animation used in this game is a totally cheesy boobs thrust out stretch created purely as fan service to tween boys. Since I’m not a tween boy, yeah, it’s immersion breaking. Especially in an LS scene where something serious is happening.

Believe it or not, I have boobs of my own and I have absolutely no need for anyone else’s boobs whatsoever, and I still want this animation back. Like wasted said, it was simply beautiful and feminine, and it used to make the character look alive. Look at any women that is forced to stand in one place (like your char is when you afk) and you will see that she definitely does something. She’s slowly getting bored, she looks around, changes position. She doesn’t stand there there like a stick.

Yeah, I mean where are the garden hoes, butcher knives, etc? Who wants cool looking, unrealistic weapons in a fantasy game? I want to spend lots of my fun time acquiring fake, everyday items! Give me realism in my fantasy world!

Welp, your aesthetics are just that. I, on the other hand, like to make characters who just look nice without giant bordello-like neons hung all over them.

Vayne, large chunks of content from the hearts and early events have been removed and replaced with spamming F or just blown to hell altogether, right? So, seemingly permanent content has been deemed not as permanent as we thought it to be, yes? Mistakes have been made, yes?

Changing how a heart works is VERY VERY different from removing content. As an example, every single AC path was changed to have different bosses and not one single person ever claimed they removed content. But those old bosses were not in the game anymore.

This is making an argument to try to prove a point. Content changes all the time. Battles get nerfed. Things get buffed. When they added elites to the world, no one came and said, look we have new foes..but they were new foes.

The changed some hearts in the early area, they didn’t remove them. And in some cases, they added ways to get those hearts that didn’t exist before.

Removing golem in the early Metrica heart was not removing content? Removing underwater events in the same zone because it was too close to entrance was also very different from removing content?

People keep saying more freedom is better, but then you have a heart like that with almost no freedom. Almost every heart has more than one way to finish them. Not all, but most. That’s freedom. People keep arguing that the new NPE is anti-freedom, and then they give people more freedom in a heart and people complain.

I’ve got 18 80th level characters and I’m well on my way to 20. I don’t ever want to trade again, thanks.

I like it better like it is now.

Oh for goodness sake, don’t start with “FREEDOOOOOOM!”. If you like it as it is, good for you! This heart isn’t in question here. Nothing was destroyed. Joe apparently used it as a proof that that changes to hearts were perfect, so I answered that I don’t see it quite the same way. End of story. I never said it should be changed back. Do it the way you wish. The heart that we discussed involved hungry bunnies that used to be awesome and now are just sad. I wouldn’t mind if they added alternative way to copmlete it, as they did for Jotuns. I do mind that they destroyed it’s mechanics.

Was I confused at some points? Of course! Did I die a lot? Hell I did! Did the hungry bunnies beat the crap out of me? You wouldn’t believe! And all of this felt great.

I really feel sorry for those bunnies. After the lobotomy they are a sad, lethargic bunch…

Except that the hungry bunnies do still knock you over if you’re not careful. I know this for a fact because it happened to my newest character the other day when I did that particular renown heart, which is now located at the bottom of the cliff in Taigan Groves. And, in point of fact, I have no quarrel with it. The renown heart as it was previously was quite tedious and the bunnies were really a bit too active, plus which you ran the risk of falling to your death if you were in the wrong spot. This new version goes a lot faster. (I also notice that nobody seems to have commented on the new state of the renown heart involving trade with the jotun. There are a lot of low-level enemies there now which makes the heart go much faster because you can kill them to get it done and get XP in the process, which IMO greatly improves that heart, which previously was the most boring one in Wayfarer.)

Cos game experiance is about getting everything faster. FASTER, MORE NUMBERS NOW GO GO GO
No, sorry, I hate the fact that they dumbed down jotuns, too. Don’t bother trading with jotuns, it doesn’t matter that it’s what the heart’s about, waste of time, run around slaying wolves! Sorry but there are hundreds of hearts where you just kill things. This one was different and that was good.
Bunnies required fast learning how to dodge in the best way possible. Now you just get knocked once, oh well, you get another bag and the heart’s done. Cool.

Than Mystic Forge decided I’ve waited long enough and spitted Storm at me. Smothered by the potential money this would throw at me, I gave it away to first person on LA chat to say they’re working on Meteorlogicus.

Beyond the misleading dodge micro-tutorial, what tutorial now exists that did not exist before? Very little, to nothing, was added that actually teaches anything. Some level gating was changed (NOT added, changed). The leveling process is very much the same except for the “pointer” which can be disabled, and the level-up notification (which a lot of games provide).

Still, I understand your point. Were a substantial tutorial to be added, there should be an opt-out.

All of the starter zones became a hugh boring tutorial. What has changed? Mobs aren’t dangerous anymore, so you don’t feel the need to learn how to fight. Every bit of funny, interesting, unusual, new, and yes confusing because “confusing” is not a bad thing even if Anet tells us so, all this content that got me into this game from the very beginning is gone. Events and hearts dumbed down. Not even gathering nodes at the beginning for a poor noobie who does’t really feel like fighting yet.
Thats little? Well not for me…

See, I know exactly how the previous leveling system felt for a complete stranger to MMOs, because I WAS a complete stranger to MMOs when I got GW2. Combat system was nothing like what I knew before, I had no idea what certain things are for and where I should go anyway.
Was I confused at some points? Of course! Did I die a lot? Hell I did! Did the hungry bunnies beat the crap out of me? You wouldn’t believe! And all of this felt great.
Since then I tried other MMOs too and every time I was forced to go through long, boring toutorial first I was just too annoyed to continue. I was like, that’s not how you treat a player. Let me discover it on my own! I want to see all the options immediately and decide how fast, in what way and what order to get familiar with them. I don’t need anyone to spoonfeed me.
And look, now GW2 is just the same.

>blah blah<

I feel for Anet. I really do.

Really?
Let me put it this way: I never complained about too few players on maps before megaserver and it was nothing of a ghost town back than, it was actually still more populated than any other MMO I played and it was just fine. And yes, I was very unhappy with the introduction of the megaserver that forced me into zergs. But this topic isn’t about any of this.
I got used to megaservers. Hugh part of what i enjoyed was taken away, but well, you cant have it all. Sometimes I even did manage to find moderately populated map and I could stay there for some time have fun. Could have been worse.
But now. What do I get now? I will translate this window for you:
“This is the map you were looking for. You will be kicked in 10… 9… 8…
>>Prepare for death in ten, in nine, in eight seconds. Death will commence in seven, six…<<
>>Prepare to evacuate soul in ten, in nine, eight.<<
>>Death will commence in five.
Five, four.
Four, thee.
Tree, two.
Prepare for the last breath, now.
Evacuate.<<”
In other words, the very existance of a window that tells me I will be forced to leave soon is a problem here. At this point we really need some way to choose a zone to enter. And if we cant get it? Well, asking for some more time really doesn’t seem so much…
Closing the map the second call for volunteers ends just doesn’t make sense. Means after an hour I’m basically forced to volunteer, just don’t get the rewards for that. I mean, what…? :P

Which part of the text displayed on the popup have you trouble comprehending? Although I am not native english speaker I am more than happy to try and explain to you meaning of the words that confuse you.

I was quite unhappy when heard about this change (since my light armor characters, that I consider most important and I’m making asc armor only for them do not get much loot; I’m doing events to dress them on my guardian cos it suits me more. One of the things I liked about this game was that you can do anything exactly the way you want. Well, gone.) so I was paying a lot of attention to this.
So far, on a heavy character: the amount of heavy armor drops = medium + light.
Don’t see the changes on champ boxes though.
Maybe I was just unlucky, too soon to say.

The current setting is to close the map one hour after the call for volunteers. When this happens, everyone still there gets redirected to another map copy.

Thanks for bringing that up.

Go back to single player games is my advice.

Seriously…? You guys are never happy, sheesh

No, we are not happy.

Anet made it so we didn’t have to fight over gathering nodes because they felt that would be bad for the game, well now you’re going to have tons of people in zerker armor fighting over mob tags.

This.
And really, is actual gameplay really so much to ask from, well, a GAME?
I wouldn’t mind being kicked from an instance megaserver wants to close if only there was any other way of escaping giant zergs of people trying to tag one mob. A simple choice of joining a map with higher or lower cap would solve it all – strange people who are all about loot would have their zergs and those looking for gameplay would have a chance too.
Since I know how this works i will repeat: LOWER CAP DOES NOT MEAN PLAYING ALONE. Noone ever asked for single player instances. But even MMO isn’t about clusters of people.

On those rare occasions when I end up on a fresh overflow with few people and I can do bigger events with just a small group around… Well, I almost forgot how much fun this game used to give.
It’s incredible how in every other MMO when I meet some players I’m super happy to see them cause this or that was impossible or very hard to do alone. GW2 how it is now makes me basically hate anyone who comes closer, and even if I’m having trouble with something I’m like “GO AWAY I CAN DO THIS ALONE!”. Let me translate this for you:
It is exactly the way we think it is getting changed, that is it will affect everything including level 80s. But they cannot say it out loud, otherwise there will be an uproar with the community.

So they are going to implement it the same way we all expect it to work, except that they are just telling us it is “not what we think”, so that by the time we get enough research data on new drop rates(by comparing previous drop data with the new ones) to confirm it was exactly as we predicted, it will have been too late for players to uproar and ask for a rollback(because it will have been implemented for a while into the game by then).

Unfortunately, my thoughts exactly.
Since that’s the topic where dev decided to pretend giving information, I’ll just copy my opinion on this from an ignored one:
I levelled 10 characters to 80 just so that I can enjoy every part of game in the way that suits me most. My main characters are light armor and really don’t get some incredible amount of drops on roaming. So I have my heavies do PvE events to feed them, so I can make armor for them etc. I do not like roaming on non-light characters. I do not enjoy doing events with other classes than heavy. I do not want anet to decide for me how I should play this game.

“When certain copies of a map need to be closed, the players on those copies will be notified and will have the option to be moved to a different map copy right away.”
If there’s an option of moving to more populated map, why in the world is there no option of moving to LESS populated map? Leaving a map that was becoming empty was simply a metter of logging out and in. Thats hardly an issue. The problem here is a choice for those who DON’T want to compete with 200 other players to get a kill.

So what if there are 100 people playing all all want to play alone. Does Anet have to spawn 20 servers for them? Because spawning that many servers affects the speed/stability of the system for everyone.

There is a hugh difference between “alone” and “without a giant zerg”. Playing with a comfortable amount of players around was perfectly normal before the megaserver and they claimed it’s not all just about saving money (sure!) :P Since many players will choose populated version, it would still be less maps than it used to be with servers.
