Go open the wardrobe and then look at all the harpoon gun skins that you want on a rifle but will never be able.

Now that was just DIRTY. A man couldn’t just sleep in peace tonight, huh?!

An easier way might be to equip a rifle on one of your characters, and then use the Hero panel Wardrobe.

A lot less rifles to go through. Also, look at spearguns/harpoon guns. Sometimes, they look just like rifles.

You could also try a -repair of the client, just in case of corrupted file(s). Instructions found in the Knowledge Base accessed via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Search – Repair’.

It was a harpoon gun the entire time. I’m seriously facepalming right now. As soon as I read “harpoon gun” I just knew deep down..

In my defense though, IT LOOKED JUST LIKE A RIFLE MAN. LOL. I didn’t even think to read. Just saw that it looked cool. Without using my brain I just unlocked the skin, went to rifles and didn’t see a match and just freaked out ever since. Never bothered to see if it was a harpoon gun.

But uh.. ahem. Yeah, that was a wild ride. My deepest apologies for the confusion.

Nothing to else to see here folks. We can all go home now >.<

HAHA* If I were you, I’d remember this story, it makes for a good laugh. And don’t hurt yourself too much, it happened to the best of us.
I remember I was crafting the Ad Infnitum, went all the way of making that weird sub-backpack. So when I was done I salvaged it for the ectos.
Then came tier 2. And I had to craft it all over again because that item was used in upgraded forms every tier. I don’t think I’ve stopped facepalming myself for the rest of the day.

Did you check the bank’s wardrobe for the skin? Which skin was it?

That’s what I’m kicking myself slightly for. Since the rifle itself I really didn’t want anyways (just wanted skin). I went ahead and salvaged it without thinking to write down the name or something. All I remember it was a decent looking exotic rifle.

But honestly you really can’t expect something to bug out like that. Lol. I should of 100% had the skin as soon as I selected the “Unlock skin” option.

I’m willing to accept the loss just as long as something like this doesn’t happen again. I’ll for sure try and keep track of names now just in case.

Also yes, I did check the bank’s wardrobe for it. Didn’t see it anywhere.

Okay, well just an update for anyone who may of seen this. Was busy yesterday so I didn’t have time to test.

So just now I tested this and went and bought a random weapon from TP (just a random exotic hammer if you need to know).

I made sure it was something I didn’t have unlocked yet. Went to the bank, found it in the wardrobe storage and everything. Not unlocked yet.

Unlocked the skin, went to the normal wardrobe to equip it and sure enough it works now. The skin is unlocked. I have no idea why it didn’t work yesterday.

I’m still super mad because at the time when it DIDN’T work I really wanted that rifle skin. Lol. Now it’s just lost forever I guess. Will post again if I run into this issue.

Yes. Salvaged it. As you said that should also just unlock the skin.

Just tested this on another random weapon I didn’t have the skin for yet. Unlocked the skin, but not showing up in the wardrobe at all.

So just now, I attempted to unlock an exotic rifle skin. Got the actual rifle from pvp loot. Right clicked. Selected “UNLOCK SKIN”. Got the usual “this weapon will be account bound, are you sure?” blah blah. No weird errors or anything.

I go to my wardrobe to find it, and I don’t see it anywhere. I should definitely have the skin 100% already.

My mistake was instead of hanging on to it I salvaged it instead (didn’t want the rifle itself because of stats, just wanted skin) and it’s still not there. Rebooted the game, and double checked. Nothing.

I didn’t think to write the name down because obviously this doesn’t happen normally. Can anything be done?

Has been awful lately. I’m also not the only one having this issue (obviously).

It’s even getting to the point to where I can’t even break it anymore. /sit wouldn’t even work the last time.

Again, it’s happening more frequently (Just lost a PvP game because of it)

Would love to have some sort of update on the issue. Maybe then I’ll be a bit less upset once I know this stupid bug is being looked at.

Hi, not sure if this has been reported yet, but I’ve been noticing some moments were I’m just completely unable to move. I believe the only way to sometimes break this is to /sit.

Just happened to me in a PvP game and it was pretty frustrating.

Greetings everyone. So I guess I should give a little backstory. Been playing for about two months now. Some IRL friends got me into the game.

Annnnd long story short most of them don’t come online much anymore. I’ve also been up at weird hours lately ¯\(?)/¯

So yeah, figured I’d try my luck here. Just mostly looking for a tight knit group with good people. Really don’t want to be invited into some huge guild and be forgotten.

U dont have to do dungeons tho. U could find various means to make gold so that u could buy berserker exotic off TP, or do WvW as that gives u currency to buy it from their vendors. The fastest way for a newcomer could be dungeons, like u could do the quick paths in 5 6 dungeons daily and ull get a set fast (or slower if u want the same skin set and focus on one specific dungeon, as i belive token rewards lower themselves after x runs per day). Aside from this i also believe orr merchants sell exotic sets for karma, tho it costs a little.

Yeah, I’ve been begging my friends to do a few dungeons with me. Hoping if I keep up with that I’ll get better stuff. Wish I had the confidence to do them with randoms LOL. Pretty new to it all.

WvW I also attempted for the first time today. Seemed pretty nuts. Fun, but just has no idea what I was doing lol. I’m guessing all of this will slowly fall into place. Just wanting to get the hang of everything >.<

Hiya guys. First time poster. I’ve had GW2 for about 3 weeks now and have been loving Elementalist so far. Reached level 80 a few days ago.

As someone who’s a bit new to the game and MMOs in general, I’m not really sure where to go to gather info :C. A few of my friends play but they only know so much.

Mainly just wondering about gear here. Should I be getting into crafting? (I’ve been scraping almost everything so I have a bit of materials saved up) A friend of mine bought some pretty good rare berserker’s gear to hold me off currently.

As for grinding (I’m sure I’ll be doing this instead) What should I be grinding? What should I aim for? Just not sure what I need, or where I should start?
