Jumping in with another thank you! Was part of the event along with TTS, had a lot of fun just like last year!
Well every aspect of the game is affected. I happened to mention WvW because that’s where I first noticed it and that’s where I’ve been playing mostly since the update due to further levelling a character.
It’s still addressing the topic since as you can see every part of the game is affected by the camera change. And to be fair, you never directly stated a specific area, you just mentioned the camera angle change being lame at the beginning so I was agreeing (and not just mentioning WvW/EotM).
We was annoyed to be told by dead players where we gone, so this change is a nice touch on keeping dead people dead. It is the wery same when we go out & play Airsoft, it is not allowed to communicate in any way if you’re out of game. For a good reason.
I really hope you know what I’m speaking about. Right?
I know what you’re meaning. However, if I’m on my way to our T3 keep and I get rushed from behind, I want to warn my fellow players to let them know there’s X amount of players. A server is suppose to work together so yeah, I’d want to be able to warn people so they can defend something we worked to get and upgrade. Basically, I know what you’re saying but I don’t agree.
As for other aspects of the game, dungeon’s is certainly one place I’d like to be able to see what my party is doing and to know how soon it’ll be until I get a res. And even in PvE to see if I can see other players coming to my aid on map.
Yeah I’m a little annoyed with the camera changing to view your downed character. It makes no sense, especially in WvW/EotM when you want to see where the zerg went to let people know etc.
Bunji I don’t know if you’re kidding or actually missed the point of the post by OP…
To OP, that was very well done.
I have this problem as well and sent in a ticket. They’re going to be looking in to it (at least for me?). I tried to login just there and it works, just doesn’t show it.
I have an empty one (bought 2 by accident pre-patch) and it’s just gonna sit there empty :/
So much for playing the games content as and when we wanted to. Level 20 and want to do level 40 story with party? Yeah no chance now.
It was said this was to make it flow better…but uh…you break it up doing this in an unnecessary way. It’s stupid and more people don’t like this implementation than do.
This now just feels like a complete grindfest. One of the reasons (main being money) that I left FFXI. I’m actually angry with the levelling system and wondering how it helps new players?
Things are locked to stupid levels, condi damage from mobs doesn’t happen in starter areas any more. You have an awkward break between the character creation story part and the beginning of actual story. You can’t explore maps until level 15. You can equip an offhand until a certain level. You can’t gain skill points despite standing right by the commune/whatever.
Everything is a chore now. Your skill 5 on weapon doesn’t unlock until level 10, elite is 40 and oh, underwater combat is level 8. Yes this is super helpful and rewarding.
Roll it back. We’re not China when it comes to grinding.
Which they said they didn’t mind key farming?
I’m rank 240-ish and I think I got a Settler’s weapon chest around rank 20 and a ascended ring not too long ago.
Ah yes, yet more changes that we don’t need.
Furthermore, why are we getting things from the Asian market thrown at us? you should be aware that the Eastern and Western Market in terms of MMORPGs are ENTIRELY different. they prefer grindy games, we dont, to my knowledge.
Exactly this ^! It infuriates me that because a function works in an area that has a completely different play mindset/style, doesn’t mean you should implement it for us.
The game is easy to learn how to play, we don’t need to be babied. Now, with the downed state unlocking at level 5, wouldn’t that confuse new players more than actually having it from the start? Because suddenly you’re going to be level 5 and going ‘what the feck is going on? what do I do?’. Having come from an old MMO where if you died you went to a home point or had to wait for someone that could cast a revive spell in 1 hour, the downed state is actually refreshing.
I’m leaning more to 1.
2 only happens when talking to them.
Read this and got to Devon’s comment and laughed going ’that’ll never happen’. Then saw it was a year old and now I’m just tired.
I really enjoyed it last year. Was also cool seeing my character in some of the screenshots.
Can’t wait for this year and I’ll definitely be passing around the word!
1) What do you like best about WvW? What keeps making you come back for more? What keeps you interested or keeps it fun?
2) What do you like least about WvW? What makes you frustrated about it or makes you want to stop WvW in favor of something else like PvE, PvP or even EotM? (I consider EotM play separate).
3) What tier are you in?
4) Have you switched servers for WvW? Why?
1. The fighting (even though I’m really bad at it). Also the fact that the community and guild I’m in for WvW is really good. Being on TS and listening to people keeps it fun.
2. Dislike that I’m EU based on a NA server so my peak time is lunchtime on the East coast. Makes it a little hard to play at decent times. The zerging can get boring pretty fast at times.
3. I don’t even know anymore but I’m with SF
4. Haven’t switched. Almost did to a higher tier but then found a lot of really great people and a community I’d miss. Also not seeing familiar names and styles after a year of on and off WvW’ing.
Wouldn’t that be fun
Sorrow’s Furnace resident here!
I’d just like to say that we would love EU players, the more the merrier and the less tired I’d be some mornings from having stayed up to 4am when things get good
The community is great and from someone who was looking to transfer out a few months ago I’m really glad I decided to stay in SF.
