Thank you for advice :-)
Have been having problems with my graphics as stated above. In jumping puzzle just outside The Grove (trolls area – jumping logs), once I exit the water to get to it, the graphics become blindingly brilliant yellows, whites and black. I can barely see to move my character. I have notice the same thing looking at the Lake Devalan entrance to the bandits cave in Queensdale. However everything is fine in the underground area in Bandithaunt Caverns, and in the second jumping puzzle in Caledon Forest (where you climb the mushrooms).
I have tried manipulating my graphics settings but nothing removes the problem (occasionally it is dulled down slightly). All other graphics in open world are fine – no issues. My computer stats are – Win 10 64 bit; 16gb RAM; GPU – NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750; Monitor – Acer X243H.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you
Ref my problem above – I still cannot login to my character in Verdant Brink. Game continues to crash every time I try to login to the particular character (my other characters in other zones continue to be accessible). Any ANet advice on how I can resolve this would be appreciated!
Update: I now have two characters stuck in VB. I moved a second character there to see if my original problem was an anomaly. The game crashed once more shortly after my second character began moving from the VB entry point. He is presently stuck on a vine adjacent to the Vista south of the entry point …….. sigh
2nd update: Appear to have solved problem (fingers crossed). Found this reference that helped tremendously – https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Crashes-Zone-stuck-Can-t-log-back-into-game
Hope this helps someone else.

Have been finding recently that my game keeps crashing in the “beginning area” of Verdant Brink, and only in this immediate vicinity. It is down the hill below where you enter Verdant Brink, adjacent to where you do the ‘torn from the sky’ story fight. Presently I cannot get to my character here as the game crashes while loading this area. I have restarted my computer to try and clear this, but to no avail.
I can play any of my other characters in other zones.
I am almost exclusively a solo and events player. I find the quantity of information about builds difficult to wade through. This is the build for my Guardian that I presently use having recently hit 80.
Before tackling Orr I would appreciate any constructive advice on its viability. I am happy to receive negative comments as long as I can get reasons for the opinions. My build is:
Buildcraft does not cater for less that exotic gear – mine is rare armour and weapons; and masterwork trinkets and backpiece.
Thank you in advance for any comments.
I have been getting it today. When I log back in I can be upto a 1/4 of a zone away from where I was when it crashed – lol. Just found myself in a section I had not been to before…… exploring made easy, perhaps
Appreciate the response – :-) I just went back into the game after one of my daily blue screen crash dumps (oh, the joy of being a Toshiba Qosmio owner), and found the TP down for maintenance.
I have no problems with the TP until this morning. Cannot see my transactions (what I am selling), and when I click on “sell on trading post”, my inventory items appear but clicking on an item to sell just produces a blank panel with zero information – no item graphic, no buyer price, etc. I have re-logged, I have exited game. No change.
Really appreciate the advice and time taken to give it. Wasn’t sure if I would get anything at all ……… cheers :-)
I am looking for some clarification over distribution of weapon and armor attributes.
I have read widely about the various combinations of attributes depending on your profession and your build, however is there a difference in whether the attributes you want go on your weapon or your gear. For example – my ranger is going to focus on beastmaster and short bow. I have read that a combination of toughness and vitality is good. I have picked up a short bow that has both attributes. Would this work or should I only look at these attributes for my gear and look to other attributes like precision, power, crit, etc for my weapons? Or can you attributes go anywhere – including accessories?
Feeling a little confused and info overloaded.
Did this yesterday. Initially I was LB and GS – but same problem everyone had – constantly died in courtyard. After reading a bit I repaired, swallowed my hurt pride and went LB/SB and put Spirit of Nature in my elite slot. My main pet is a devourer who likes to attract mobs. Also on entering fortress I stayed with the pack of NPCs; rezzed them when I could if they died up top; used LB to start and as soon as mobs closed on me I switched to SB. On entering courtyard we (pack and me) took main mobs down one at a time. I and my pet focused on the veterans and let the NPCs worry about the others. I ran around alot using my SB from every angle I could on the veterans – particularly the guy that keeps creating risen. When I needed to I switched pets (alt is a brown bear), and if a pack of my NPCs were dead I used Spirit of Nature. This worked – might have been luck, but beggars can’t be choosers. Finally killed the big lizard, but then got wiped by risen still running around the courtyard – and not dying – after event finished and I was trying to talk to the required NPCs. When I rezzed and returned all was well (the last bit must have been a bug). ……. Hope this helps. Oh, I was level 63.
