I can’t even post in these forums without getting infractions. What use is the feedback if we have to sugar coat it?
Nah, if anything they should be giving him praise because hopefully they’ll change their policy on how often and how transparent devs can be with us.
Besides, he didn’t insult Anet in his blog in the slightest. He’s just telling the truth. He’s even said he’s been with them for 10 years and finds them supportive and great to work for.
However, the fact they would stop Josh from posting as much as he did without giving us the reason why is not being that supportive of him. Had he not made that blog post, most of us would be thinking he no longer cared about what we think because he just stopped posting here. They should be encouraging their employees to talk with us more often, not encouraging them to talk to us less often and if he gets any type of punishment for that blog post, I’ll be disgusted with how Anet has treated him.
The developer interaction is feeding the controversy. It’s best he step back for a bit. Josh should have never responded to these little children complaining about the content in the first place.
Too many noobs whining.
There’s no reason to have stacks of baubles. It costs 250 baubles to buy bauble bubbles so spend them on those and watch as your stacks magically become one small stack.
What Kal Spiro said. Do you know the number of times I’ve given that second zone boss his killing blow only to get knocked off the stage into the acid water below? That countdown was the only thing that saved me from missing collecting the loot from the chest, and you know how hard it is to get those bauble bubbles.
Also, in tribulation mode, World 1 Zone 2. After you beat the boss it’s easy in your exuberance to forget about the trap in front of the hostage and get yourself impaled having you to go back to the checkpoint. You will be happy for that 45 second countdown timer which gives you enough time to get back to loot the 200+ baubles waiting for you.
That update sounds epic. Loving the penalties for AFKers.
Please, make the rapids do damage again.

I know exactly what you mean. Before the nerf this wasn’t as bad of a problem but it can be very difficult to get out of the water when your ping is bad.
That said, there is no way they’re going to make the rapids section as tense as it used to be by bringing back damage. The uproar isn’t worth it.
The game definitely needs to deliver it’s lore in-game a little better. If it wasn’t for Wooden Potatoes and his Youtube channel I would have never known how rich the lore in Tyria was.
I’m eager to see how the Elder Scrolls Online, which is very big on lore, will deliver that aspect of game content.
Thanks for reading and replying to my suggestion.
I think they need to utilize the Priory(and their library) more. Here is a huge in-game organization of scholars, researchers, explorers, and scientists, but they aren’t used to their full effect lore wise. We see them for renown hearts ever so often, but they can be used to greater purpose when explaining the lore behind certain areas as well. It would be nice to be able to stumble across a Priory explorer, camping in the middle of no where, researching. No renown hearts or anything. Just a lonesome npc that you can ask questions about a more in-depth history of the area. Events that happened there, important figures that might have lived here, certain aspects of the indigenous species… That sort of thing.
As for their library, they should add another function to the Priory’s skill point, the Heart of the Priory. Once you commune with it, you can talk to it again to get “imbued” with parts of its knowledge: the collective research of the Priory. (aka: You can read walls of text about certain parts of the history of Tyria.) Plus, since hopefully the Priory’s scholars were documenting the events of the LS, a summery of the event could be added to the Heart once that part of the LS is over.
That would be great i think! Even though i guess it should be limited to characters who actually joined the Priory. There are just some things you dont tell to every bypasser adventurer, say, where is the nearest old ruin to plunder before the Priory can set up a working research camp. The detailed explanation behind how Spectral Agony worked. That small fracture they found of the words that Khilbron read from the scroll.
But the idea itself is good, and it could work. Its not like 100% of every said word is voiced in the game. Much of the lore could be flashed out from simple dialogue boxes.
I agree here with Erukk and lakdav. They made these comments over in the Lore sub-forum
I keep wondering around Tyria thinking I will one day stumble upon this Great Library which contains the sum of all Tyrian knowledge. It will be a massive library you can go inside and spend the day there. There are stairs and lobbies and reading rooms and points of interest, it will be on a scale almost as large as some of the cities. You go inside and there are massive numbers of shelves in different rooms and levels where you can go to read up on any lore you have a question about in the game organized using the dewey decimal system or whatever system they implement. The Ascalonian Catacombs, all the other dungeons and their points of interests will have books to read up on. ArenaNet can even make it so that you can buy different things in the Gem Store to facilitate your exploration of this Great Library, such as a pass to special archives with more lore, to give it that special exclusive feel or cut scenes while you read some stories in the Great Library.
Anyway, I need my lore fix. I know too little about the interesting places and encounters I have in Guild Wars 2.

Honestly I think the jump in difficulty between World 1 and World 2 is entirely appropriate for a game based on old-school platformers.
Look at the original Mario and Sonic games for example, the first level of both could be completed pretty much by holding down right and pressed A occasionally. But as soon as you’re beyond the first few levels you’ve suddenly got a lot more to deal with, traps, enemies you can’t jump on, power-ups you need to acquire and use at the correct moments, lava. If anything I think World 2 of SAB is more forgiving than the Marble Zone in Sonic coming right after Green Hills.
I never looked at it that way.
That’s what I like to hear and see. You’ve got good gaming skillz.

Can someone please explain me which difficulty in any game ever is NOT trial and error?
I’d have to say Dark Souls. There’s a lot of death in that, and most (if not all) possible death is telegraphed. You can clearly see where you faulted, whether it be bad timing, or failure to dodge, etc. Yes you will die a lot and you will learn, but it’s nothing like going forward and seeing if you get hit by a random spike trap.
Trial and error like TM is more about how much patience you have to find all the invisible traps.
Which is fine. Not all difficulties are created the same.

Can you please enlighten me what exactly was nerfed? I did full run W1 yesterday and tonight and cannot see any major difference. Or is it for w2 only (havent touched that yet) ?
They added 3 new checkpoints to w2-z2, decreased the difficulty of the Gong run in w2-z2 and decreased the difficulty of some jumps. The difference is not very noticable but the elitists who think they’re better than everyone else because they completed it pre-patch have their panties in a bunch because anet “made it easier for casuals”.
pretty much this ^^^
this people are the ones that ruin games its an MMORPG if you cant tolerate Fair gameplay and Sharing then you shouldnt play multiplayer games . for some it isnt even a matter of lack of skill it may even be poor hardware such as faulty mice or keyboard or simply weak graphics wich makes them run at low fps so yeah try be considerate.
That’s where you’re wrong. If you make the content more accessible (this is a dirty word in gaming), then you devalue the rewards earned at the end. Without that exclusivity how are items supposed to be valued as having been acquired by a small number of people?
At this rate every casual will be running around with a super weapon skin. Casuals care the least about gaming. They just want an effortless experience.

The game where….well there is the one that….I got nothing, you’re right.
I must have been playing a different build from OP these last few days. I’ve spent most of the last three days inside SAB so much so I only emerged just today to do one daily achievement and level up my character for the first time in the last 72 hours.
While I would rather avoid reading the nonsense and whining I see on these forums it’s clear I need to add my own voice since the devs read these forums and get misled by the small minority of people who aren’t playing the game and come on these forums instead to try to ruin a great experience for the rest of us.
Just today I noticed they nerfed some elements of the SAB, including placing fewer exploding flowers in some of the tribulation levels. Who on Earth complained about tribulation being so hard they nerfed some parts of it? And they nerfed the rushing water areas which no longer feel challenging.
OP, you need to stop it. Stop your whining. Your post is a fine example of nitpicking in a very ugly form. The platforming is fine. The jumping puzzles are fine. I applaud Arena Net for making 3D platforming feel as close as I have ever experienced to my fun experiences with 2D platforming in MegaMan games. It’s genius and I frequent the Gem Store to show my appreciation.
Thank you for this. I was wondering why my BossBattle playlist wasn’t playing.
Nerfing Toypocalypse Cancelled achievement makes my 5 Dolyaks alive achievement feel less valuable. Achievements are things you practice in order to get. They are not for everyone, only the truly dedicated.
Please be careful not to cheapen the game.
