Also, you may want to check how many successful and/or good games Jacobs has made since he began to undermine DAoC nearly a decade ago (ToA launched 2003?). I believe the answer is: zero. Though he did make a terrible game in that time…

I am unhappy about this and yet ANet is silent. They make me appreciate Riot Games and its openness so much more.

My server and me are absolutely thrilled and loving this new system. within the last 2 weeks and 1 day weve re-matched 2 server that we havent seen in months and are playing/have played 3 new servers that we have never played before. granted we aren’t always in 1st/2nd we arent doing that bad.

sure theres alot of complainers on the forums, ironically they are all part of the more populated severs where:

They move up 1 tier or 1 sever from the higher comes down- they get wrecked…. they whine and complain.

They go down or a server from below comes up…. they complete map due to other servers lack of coverage…..they whine and complain.

They stay in the same tier of similar servers that have the coverage to compete and put up an equal fight…..do they do something here? NOPE they whine and complain about lack of diversity

To be honest i never really understood this whole thing of transferring to a top tier in the first place….the enhancements are mediocre and little noticeable ( as they should be), A server that comes in 1st on tier 1 gets no bonus then a server that comes in 1st in t8,

or is it your trying to make up for alack of a certain something IRL to the point where youd rather afk login wvw to win…….i guess that explains all the whining though o.0

Good to know that matchup has been kind to your server. Now quit being so tunnel visioned and try looking at matchmaking from other people’s point of view where they have to face tier 2 servers while they are tier 5.

Yaks Bend here. Always nice to go to EB and press M then see that Draonbrand has taking about 95% of the map. That includes borderlands. At least we don’t have to go far to find a fight, they are right outside our hill destroying us with arrow carts ^^.

Its probably going to be very fun for Dragonbrand this week when they have pretty much control of every land and are ticking at 600 while they push to our hill.

I don’t know what was going through your heads this week. Hmm… now that i think of it you guys would probably make a lot of money through those $25 server transfers that you offer us. Go ahead though and keep ignoring the threads about this kitten matchmaking system.

I don’t think anyone is trying to hide anything from devs. Rather, if you tell other players your great farming spot, then it will fill up with players: that’s what leads to the inevitable nerfs.

And why would those players fill it? Isn’t it because it gives a disproportionate amount of loot that should be fixed?

No, they would fill it because ANET have nerfed pretty much every other open world spot of any value into oblivion.

The loot/reward system in this game is generally totally borked.

The loot/reward is actually great, unless you want to acquire abnormally high amounts of loot in a very short time.

If you play the game normally, you’ll get tons of stuff. If you try to farm, you’ll never get enough.

Yeah, it’s great that the ability to loot materials has been nerfed to kitten whilst you can farm a disproportionate (“abnormally high”) amount of gold via CoF1. It’s just so amazingly consistent and does wonders for the economy.

It’s so great in fact that ANET are actively looking to overhaul the system.

Blind Pew could see that the time/reward system in the game is out of whack and that CoF1 is out of whack. The whole reward set up has been in dire need of an overhaul for a good while now and the current model is as far from “great” as you can possibly get.

Any evidence at all that CoF is actively harming the economy, or are you just hollering things out of proportion. Reminds me, if your going to put definitions in parenthesis like we are all idiots at least put the right one, thanks!

It’s just the forums would explode with posts like ‘what do you mean I’ve got to work with others?! That doesn’t fit into my playstyle!’

Enlighten us then oh wise one. If it is not hard explain to us how you would be able to scale a world boss with 50 people of all different levels to make it “challenging”. Please we are waiting.

1. Within the area of the meta-event, there is a hard cap on stats can reach up to (for example, level 15 masterwork for Shadow Behemoth). This way, level 80’s with Exotics aren’t going to be killing things before the people who are level appropriate for the area can even get there / get a hit in.

2. You tailor the scaling to the fight mechanics, and not simply health and damage, so players have to take note of the fight mechanics (otherwise what’s the point of them being there?). For example, say an extra portal for every 3 players spawn on the Shadow Behemoth fight, with extra mobs from each portal for every number of players up to 3 (so say a portal spawns 3 adds, it would spawn 5 for every player and 7 for every two players, and reset back to 5 per portal for every 3 players, since that creates a new portal).

1. There is already a hard cap on stats when you go to lower level areas. If you actually mean capping the stats to level 15 masterworks on Shadow Behemoth for example what would the point of getting exotics be when the stats are going to just be capped to a different weapon.

2. Once again fighting mechanics already scale with the increase in players. If you actually think that adding an extra portal for every third person in SB then that would be taking it to the extreme. That’s 16 portals plus the 3 that are already on there, assuming there are 50 people doing it. Doesn’t sound like much less of a grind tbh.

With click 300 this and 200 that content and no expansion i don’t expect this game to last long enough to make it worth it. Yesterday we had problems finding 2 random players for CoF, there were barely any people at entrance, we were shocked. If it’s not a sign GW2 population is seriously droping i don’t know what is. So the answer is no

Omg no one was at the entrance to CoF. Gw2 is obviously dead..

And the point of this post. Which you validate. Is its all up to our assumptions. Nothing is clear which would be positively received if ANET would explain clearly. Thats all im saying.

I’m sure as the date gets closer Anet will fill us in. I hardly think that we need to know right now, when we’re still 600,000 likes away from 1,000,000.

I know you’re personally frustrated by this, but I’m sure more information will be forthcoming.

Can nobody do math? 200% coin from kills is only 2x the coin from kills you currently recieve without boosts. With all of the gold boosts you have a maximum of 250% or 2.5x the gold FROM KILLS per hour. Each CoF run produces on average 80s per run not including drops, and only half of that is from kills (quick 8 runs confirmed this)
40s x 2.5 = 1g + 40s, so it’s 1g 40s per run, not 15g. This doesn’t include the end reward which varies depending on DR, but there is no way without drops to get 1.5g per run as it is with the current limit of +50% coin from kills maximum buffer.

They said 15g/hr not every run… Now apologize
