Spellbreaker greatsword/whatever kittens on engi. Scourge kittens on engi. Thief/Daredevil/Deadeye kittens on engi. Get out of here with OP damage, devs might actually listen to your knee jerk reactions. BTW if you go berserkers you die as soon someone looks at you, even with full tank stats you are still squishy as kitten. Heavy armor classes who are tankier than engis do just as much damage or even higher than fully tank engi while being tankier. I swear you guys have other classes for mains and just come here and complain to keep engi as a kitten token addition to any party instead of being truly viable. Without damage what good is engi? Other classes can do what engi can and do it better and easier. It’s the reason why engi has been regarded as a token addition for a lot of years now after all the nerfs. Engi’s kits/skills are designed for the class to do meaningful damage (especially without mobility/tricks/stealth like other duelist classes) or else it will remain being the least popular class.

Edit: Oh and not to mention, holos skills are telegraphed like crazy unlike kitten scourge.

Watching chaithh on twitch, holosmith looked extremely fun with a tanky build ie soldiers or something. You just have to make sure you leave pf before you blow up and your damage is fair. Alacrity stacking is amazing. Damage isn’t all that op especially compared to other specs and their condi damage (holo gets kittened on by condi damage). Sure with zerkers may make the damage look good (melee damage btw) but that’s the kind of damage we have been missing for YEARS not to mention how squishy you are full zerkers. One complaint i’m hearing about is sword 2 skill(not pf skill2) and the really low damage from projectiles.

I miss the old days of roaming in WvWvW with static discharge rifle engineer. I still have fond memories of it after 4 years.

My opinion is I am upset that ANET caved to the complainers this time. What DNT did has absolutly no real world impact or in game impact on them. They don’t like somthing they read on twitter that had nothing to do about them boo hoo.

This is my opinion I grew up in a generation where we didn’t cry to get what we want if you did that you were called a wimp and were told to man up. Obviously people have the right to cry foul when something is not PC now. But I don’t think this is even in the same boat as PC. People just are bumhurt.

I wish ANET would listen more to its player base about other more important issues. Like PVP balance. State of warriors and Theifs. How unhappy people are with WvW right now. Instead they devote their time to caving to complaints like this. It’s sad its why this game is so bad.

Most people who don’t play or follow GW2 may see the tweets and the news that a guild has beat the new raid in 15 minutes just after its release from other MMO news sources and then think ANet has made them poorly. Those people don’t know that DNT was put on the testing team. They could also have been potential customers who were interested in the upcoming raid.

DNT tweets and posts were full on gloating and belittlement and made no mention of them having access to unlimited testing for a month. Even I didn’t know and I have been playing this whole time. ANet did the right thing in stating that they removed DNT from the testing group and why they did it especially when they announced that they included DNT in the testing group.

The first post there is very disrespectful to ANet.

Silk prices are in the toilet right now compared to the last few months. You could always get over 2 silver per scrap over the summer, and the prices peaked over 3 silver per scrap in September. Thick leather sections are up (they were almost worthless before the expansion), but they’re still well below 1 silver each.

Now, after the expansion dropped, you’re lucky to get 1.5 silver per silk scrap. T5 mats really went down the drain; you could easily get over 1 silver each before; now you’re lucky to make .5 on most of them.

For the average player farming the Silverwastes as is customary, cash flow has gotten a lot tighter.

You open bags of gear on a lvl 52 character and you get lower tier gear which you salvage for lower tier materials which are a lot more valuable. I just opened 115 bags of gear and got around 25g.

I have been using aristocracy runes with sinister gear and I was wondering if the condition duration on nightmare runes is needed/better than might. I easily get 15 stacks of might with aristocracy runes before a fight(FT 4/BoB/Orbital x2/HT detonation) which is an extra 450 condition damage and the might duration from the runes makes it last a long time (I also run a 60% might stack on crit chance sigil).

People are also looking at berserker runes which gives 5% to condi and power which is 85 extra condi damage for 1700 as condi damage stat and I guess another 85 in power if you have 1700 power(prob have more power than 1700) + power from the rune.

I am thinking of going viper for gear and sinister for trinkets though I feel like I need rabid in there somewhere for fractals 50+? I’m just dying a little too much in the higher level fractals. Can I do higher level fractals in full glass cannon and just work on my mechanics better?

I would like to hear your opinions.

While we’re at it, can we pleeeeaase reduce elixir H casting time to .5 from 1s? healing turret has a .5 cast time… I’ve died so many times waiting for the bloody skill to go off even when I initiate it at 4k health.

A completely needed damage reduction? Maybe in sPvP or PvE, but not in WvW.

My grenades now do around 1000 damage normal / 1900 critical. The Elementalist I started after the Dec 14th update does 2000 damage normal / 5000 critical.

The only thing overpowered about grenades is that they are so small you can’t see them coming, unlike fireball which is hard to miss.

are we comparing apples to oranges or what exactly? you are only seeing 1900 crits? 1 grenade can crit for 800-900 damage, = 2400-2700 crits when all 3 hit. thats with only +50% crit damage, so we could easily push that much higher.

anyway, as for the elementalist: what skill are you seeing 5k crits with? cause i wont buy for a second that you are seeing 5k’s with fireball. that kind of damage is limited to only a handfull of abilities, and only when full glass:
-meteor
-lightning surge
-ice spike
-arcane blast / wave
-dragons tooth
-phoenix
-fire grab
-blazing speed
-churning earth

not a single one of those are direct comparisons to spammable 1500 range grenades, and all but the arcane skills and lightning surge have a reasonable chance to miss. not that it really matters, since there are so many other factors (that they can be strung together with lightning strike on attunement swap for exceedingly brutal burst).

anyway. engi’s have problems. grenade damage isnt one of them.

Uhhh I am wearing full zerkers + all zerker trinkets + 30 in explosives + 30 in tool and i am only doing around 1.1 – 1.2k dmg per grenade WITH no.2 and no.4 skills only. The auto only crits for around 900 and im pretty sure other classes can do a lot more damage with full zerkers / glass cannon. All the grenades actually have to hit as well to get full damage.

Is it so hard to use the search function?! Typing “trading post blank” in the search bar gives you a bunch of possible solutions. I’ll give you two, run gw2 as administrator or if that doesn’t work, restart your modem.

Please use the search function…. I have replied to so many of these posts. Even using “blank trading post” will show up with the suggestions in the second post. That being said, try running as administrator (right click gw2 icon) or restart modem which are your best bet at fixing the problem. You can also try going to run – cmd – type ipconfig /flushdns or changing languages with the blank tp up.

Have you tried running as administrator? If that doesn’t work, go into run – cmd – type ipconfig /flushdns or even restart the modem. You could try changing languages while the tp is up but that is more for people who can’t access tp entirely.

Gem to gold is basically plex(30 day subscription time) in Eve Online where players buy timecodes for 60 days for $35 and then convert that to two 30 day plexes and sell it on the market for in game money. I dont get what the fuss is all about, Eve Online has allowed such transactions to occur for a long time now without trouble. However, you can see the quantities traded/supply of plex in Eve aannd i trust CCP more than NCSoft.

Actually before all that try restarting your modem. Post if any method works.

Have you tried clearing cache(run->cmd-> ipconfig /flushdns) /running as admin/changing languages with the trading post up or by using the hotkey /adding the awesomium_process.exe (only comes up when you open the tp in task manager) to firewall.

My friend and I tried for a week to fix this problem and somehow we didn’t think to restart the modem.

^ This, i’m all for giving newer players discount off the game price but restricting in-game items to players is a bad decision. Follow Eve online they give discounts for newer players but never have they given out exclusive items unless I am mistaken. They also integrated the whole plex (subscription time) for isk (ingame money) quite well in contrast to the whole gem-gold thing but that’s another thing entirely.
