[Merged] World Mismatches?

Posted this in the night cap thread but yeah, DR has more or less given up on WvW. NS has more than it’s fair share of people camping most of the entrances and exits in and out of the spawn points. Everything kept popping in and out while I was taking that screenshot because there are so many NS players and siege equipment just outside of the legendary guard’s reach. It’s the same on all four maps.

It also doesn’t help that a certain guild and their leader decided to camp our spawn on our borderlands map (our side, mind you) taking up spots essentially causing us to lose the map on day one. All because they felt the need to protest and try to get everyone to move servers with them so they could be on the winning team. /eyeroll

Guess it’s back to PvE with me until ANet fixes some of these issues that are borderline griefing tactics. (Somewhat sarcastic on the last part, but you’d understand when a full blown zerg can’t get past the line due to all of the siege they have pointed at us).

Night Capping is still a thing

They really just need to make it so you can’t upgrade at night. I’m on Northern Shiverpeaks, and after we started winning, we just capped everything and upgraded them all. It’s literally impossible to lose anything now, and WvW is a complete borefest.

I’m on Devona’s Rest and your server really killed WvW for us and Kaineng. I can tell you right now we’ve given up since you now have every single spawn point camped with multitudes of siege and people to the point that even if we did zerg en masse we wouldn’t be able to break the line. You guys made your bed just how you wanted it, now sleep in it. Enjoy the next five days

What about mounts?

4. From what I have seen mini pets, weapon and armor skins are only available to players of the first GW and as such has no effect or impact on new players and as I stated before kinda not fair. I could care less how many hours you put into a dated previous edition of this game. I showed support the second I bought GW2 and spent over 50 dollars in gems. That = support as well in my opinion and should be rewarded.

You misunderstand. Aryiuss wasn’t talking about the Hall of Monuments. When you hit level 80, there is no longer any type of gear progression that makes you more powerful outside of honing abilities and upgrades (sigils for instance) for your specific build. In GW2 gear progression is horizontal and takes the form of obtaining unique weapon and armor skins, of which Aryiuss was discussing, instead of vertical gear progression like in WoW or TOR. Grinding glory for PvP skins, dungeons for dungeon specific skins, karma for exotics, etc. There are several different ways to get unique gear outside of the HoM. Just remember, it’s not about the stats in GW2 but the look.

You also have mini pets which you can purchase off of the gem store or the trading post to collect and trade. None of these things are restricted only to players of the original GW. Sure, you have extra options as a GW1 player like myself, but that’s because I sank years playing the game and as players that supported ANet we deserved something special for the immensely insane amount of hard work required to even hit 30/50 HoM points :P

Edited to add that I do not support adding mounts. It goes against all of the lore set up from the original GW to GW2 on top of going in the opposite direction the designers had intended with waypoints. Sure, I agree that WP pricing should be looked at but there are no need for mounts in Tyria.

Endgame... Reimagined? What?

But even then that is about the depth of the difficulty in a nutshell. The explorable mode dungeons and the bosses that you can encounter within them. Even then they are dungeons, but harder version of them and nothing more.

This is incorrect. EM dungeons offer multiple paths, each with their own storyline and bosses that take place after the SM story has been cleared. Case in point, when we cleared CM SM and went back in for a shot at EM, we took the first path and ended up hunting down a bunch of crazy bandits that stole some Asuran tech to get it back. The bosses were fairly challenging, though the cray cray lady was pretty easy, and the infamous 10+ mob packs were a pain to fight off but we did it without stealthing by. Frost was a pain

Though we didn’t complete them, the other two paths offered completely different stories in completely new areas of the dungeon than SM and the first path. That’s great! If you think about it, that’s 8 dungeons, each with 4 paths (SM and 3 EM) for a total of 32 different options, 24 of them geared for endgame play. Yes, some are easier than others, but there are options available to mix things up. So happy CM EM path 1 took longer than 15 minutes like SM did >.>

AFAIK there were some issues with the feature and they removed it until everything could be ironed out. I believe they’re supposed to be putting it back in whenever it gets fixed but with everything else going on right now it might be a while

Is mystic salvage kit bugged?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: ZoLMiTRiPTaN.4567

ZoLMiTRiPTaN.4567

Mystic Salvage Kits are the exact same as Master Salvage Kits but with 250 uses instead of 25. The benefit of creating Mystic kits over Master kits is the increased uses compared to initial cost. It’s ~1g50s to purchase 10 Master Salvage Kits, but if you know what you’re doing you can craft Mystic Salvage Kits for ~50s each depending on the gold to gem conversion rate at the time you craft the kits.

As for the salvage stats, you’re looking at it the wrong way. When you say you have an overall average of 16.1%, you’re calculating every single salvage as a whole and that’s not how the kits work. When you salvage something, you leave it in the hands of the RNG gods/goddesses. Both kits give you a 25% chance when you salvage on an item by item basis. If you’re highly unlucky you can continually hit that 75% chance of not being able to get upgraded mats on a salvage. The kits are working as intended, your luck however is not

You have to complete the defense event before you can use the cattlepult. Once you do, get close to it (it’ll have the gear icon, the best place to get it to light up and able to select it is behind the merchant that’s been disabled) and select the option to jump in. You might have to wait until he launches a few cows after the event but it should work right after you clear it. Works perfectly fine on Devona’s Rest, not sure about the other servers.

PVE Down-level Scaling Pains

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: ZoLMiTRiPTaN.4567

ZoLMiTRiPTaN.4567

I would love if they would just down-scale that amount of damage we can do. That way there still won’t be kill stealing and I can have a sense of being a God in lower level zones.
As it is of my personal option that down-scaling everything will take away the feel of being God like, which for me on a personal level is part of any role playing game! But to each his own I guess, I just thought I’d make my point of view known.

Just a reminder that tagging mobs and “kill stealing” don’t exist in this game.

Engineer, necro, guardian: lots of issues from one root cause

I’m an engi and I have to disagree. Everything in our arsenal is situational. Turrets are awesome in group environments and can be very helpful while soloing if you use their secondary skills and blow them up for combo finishers. Kits and guns come in to play as well but I love dropping turrets and decimating things all by my lonesome.

Refund Questions

ZoLMiTRiPTaN.4567

You will need to do this through the credit card company you purchased the game with. I just started the process about 15 minutes ago with mine as I am also tired of waiting. Its fairly simple, some can be done over the phone immediately, some you might have to fill out a small amount of paperwork.

Good luck,

Blake

I hope you understand the ramifications of charge backs. I haven’t yet seen what ANet plans to do with all of these people threatening charge backs, but it’s likely to be similar to other video game companies. For example, Valve will ban your entire Steam account and you will lose access to all of your games that you’ve purchased licenses over the occurrence of a single charge back. Companies this day and age don’t play around. Be warned.

There are no inherent rights to freedom of speech and expression in the private sector. Please brush up on your understanding of the Bill of Rights, especially the First Amendment (applicable if you’re in the US, like ANet. Though I’m sure you could get them to use your home country’s laws). ANet has authoritarian control over everything that goes on within the confines of their business, this includes their games. You agree to such when you click through the EULA and RoC.

I’ll report and block because in the end it’s up to ANet to decide if rules were broken. But, according to your argument up above, I guess since I’m not straight I can go screaming that certain “f” word in all caps while running around in WvW and not expected to get banned. Because if they can say it, so can I! Flawless logic!

I don’t promote groundless indecencies and social ignorance but i am a realist.

So it’s OK if a player that represents your guild lets loose with the “n” word multiple times in public chat? Are you defending his actions? His ban was justified, and I’m fairly certain ANet can pull the chat logs and they’ll be 10 times worse than just using the “n” word a few times as evidenced by the infamous reddit thread.

I’ll repeat was linked and explained by Gaile Gray: Your warning was in the EULA.

If it’s what I think you are saying then that word you were saying I can’t even take seriously because the group of people it refers to misuse the term much more liberally than we do.

Exactly, if it makes it any better, I’m spelling it with an A as opposed to ER…..

I don’t use iTunes. But thanks for trying. It’s also nice to see you got banned for saying the “n” word (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/I-got-banned-for-2-weeks/first#post6802)

Your ban was justified, warning or not.

bro, don’t try to tell me you read the entire EULA of everything you ever install.

First off, I’m not your “bro”. Secondly, I do read EULAs and RoCs because, quite frankly, I want to know if I have any recourse if the software screws up and I’m left in the dark. I like being an informed consumer. You should try it out.
