My Asura is connected to me in some weird personal way. Maybe its his attitude, or just the way he carries himself. I love how he perks up when he is ready for combat, ie. his little ears! He has the same sense of humor as me which I can’t help but chuckle when I hear his random comments. The way his animations make him look almost drunk, stumbling around, but always just able to keep himself from falling haha. And of course his flips, and acrobatics are really cool to watch, only amplified because of his skill moves (hes a thief). He was not the first character I made, but once I made him I became connected emotionally and now he is my main.
Ah, my mistake, that’s cool though, at least there is a chance for it to drop, albeit a rare chance.
Haha, that’s awesome, good job. Love the coordination and cooperation. Very cool.
Mystery boxes are only from the gem store I believe.
They probably made it easier so it’s more accessible for casual players who don’t have the best control. I beat it on my second or third try but it’s not meant to be super difficult. I agree that they should add difficulties; for example, maybe a hard mode with moving platforms, more unpredictable elements like the wind after the big present grid part, etc. Overall it was really cool, I loved it, but maybe add a difficulty to placate all the try-hards haha.
I don’t know for certain, but it’s likely that is how the events work. I can’t imagine they would lock out lower level characters for a holiday event.
Oh ok thanks, is it worth doing it many times, or just 1 to complete it and get the achievement?
Do it as many times as you want, the presents you get will give you items like wool sweaters, socks, and hats that you can trade to special winter vendors in Lion’s Arch to get weapon skins, recipes, and more. There is a small chance to get rare items in presents as well. I don’t know everything you can get in the presents, its a surprise! I’ve gotten recipes though so I’m sure there is a chance to get weapon skins. I don’t know about mini-pets though, I think they are only from mystery presents bought with gems in the BL Trading Post.
I’d imagine that everyone gets scaled to level 80 to allow all players to experience the events.
Yup, every time you complete it there will be a chest at the end waiting for you to open. The loot from the chests (presents) doesn’t change I don’t think but what’s inside the presents is random chance.
I don’t understand why people complain. This is all extra content that is 100% optional. Just enjoy it, they obviously put a lot of work into it. Great job Anet, this is the coolest thing I’ve done in an MMO by far. Can’t wait to see what surprises Tixx has up his tiny sleeve!
This is the first Guild Wars holiday event I’ve participated in, and I am completely blown away by how much detail and work must have gone into this. When I entered the Winter Wonderland event, and was swept into this giant wintery obstacle course, I could feel my mouth hit my desk. Then, if that wasn’t cool enough I joined the Bell Choir and I can’t even articulate what I was thinking; but it was something close to stunned and amazed! Great work Anet, I can’t wait to see what Tixx has planned!
