I recently purchased 800gems ( 10$USD ) and found myself dumbfounded at the lack of content I could utilize the gems for. Simply just turned into 5g and spent on training.
Will Guild Wars 2 feature more interesting unlocks, account additions, or highly promotional bundles in the near future?
(excluding Xmas items )
I noticed that Shields have no real preference of play. I love wielding shields and using them for a nice beefy and stunhappy build although neither Guardians or Warriors use them to any effect. They have high cooldowns with traits, low performance skills and only provide a miniscule amount of traited protection.
Will Shields be addressed in later patches?
Whats GMT in relation to PST then? +6 hours? wha?
Just realized that I dont have tonite ( halloween ) to finish off my monthly. My server is Sorrow’s Furnace and we’re on PST. Right now its around 5:20pm servertime…shouldn’t I have 6 hours left to finish???
^ doesnt make sense.
As the title depicts, do you think there will be a Yearly Achievement of completing 12/12 Monthly Achievements?
Zoris, you sound like you should take a break from playing. The only explanation for feeling like you both “really like the game” and feeling uninterested and bored is that you like the idea of the game. You’re hoping that the game will get more interesting as you get higher level, a common theme in the mmo’s you’ve played. GW2 doesn’t do that. The game doesn’t change much, so if you aren’t interested now then you won’t be interested in 10, 20, or 40 levels either.
Walk away from the game, think about the idea of the game, and come back later when you get inspired. Hopefully then you will enjoy your current progress.
Don’t play solely for the future.
This is a very good point. Although I don’t play the game religiously or more than 4hours a day, I do understand that sometimes hoping for the best and experiencing the best are two great separate things on itself.
For now, I have been partaking in SPVP matches and finding several builds within a character that I had simply overlooked.
Thank you for the advice
I really do think awareness of people logging in would be nice, either on friends list or guild list,
I’ve been playing DCUO ( have a capped player there ), played WoW and a bunch of other expansive MMO’s and I find myself hitting a wall of loss interest specifically in GW2… mind you I don’t play the other MMOs now just this one. I’ll try different techniques to get through it though.
Did you say you solely explored to level from 20-80? That’s incredible.
I just find it a shame that my server doesn’t really interact that well ( Sorrow’s Furnace ). Yet we’re destroying the other realms in WVW (99.9% winning)
Craft. Its as simple as that. I w ent from 35 to 46 in 30 mins.
I don’t understand how you could level from crafting unless you already have 3-4g from an 80 and your starting off with a level 1 character. That is quite a lot of crafting within 30 minutes…how are you pulling that off?
I am doing dailies, almost done monthly
My advice would be to just stop caring about what your rank is. Play the game, have fun.
Fun is always there, for better or worse. I’ve just been noticing it takes like 20 rounds just to get 1 rank ><
Glory Boosters would be nice to find. I keep on uncovering rabbit finishers ><
Thanks a lot fellas, this answers a lot of mine, and hopefully other’s, questions.
How would I acquire boosts?
Is there a link to the rewards for winning free tourneys?
I’ve played a ton of rounds of Structured PVP and I’m only a rank 7 rabbit. Would you recommend anything to help speed up the process?
Please keep all answers respectful and to the topic
I’m always celebrating after a big boss battle, jumping around and dancing just to get people ( outside of guilds in the pve world ) to just talk or participate in whatever. What do you think makes this less of a social mmo than others?
Does the Trading Post have a negative effect on this?
Does the lack of party requirement have an effect on this?
I must say though, that despite the lack of social participation…I almost always get revived when I need help. This definitely counts..although when I’m thanking people, they seldom respond.
Thanks. I’ve been focusing on melee classes too so many thats another thing… I’ve made a banner warrior/tank warrior as well as a tank guardian and such. So far it seems shields are more effective on a warrior than a guardian.
I’ll try to mix it up.
Thats crazy, been playing almost 3 weeks and only have a level 40 guardian, 20 warrior ><
any advice?
I’ve been playing this game casually and am finding it sort of hard to be interested in pursuing quests/whatever. Usually I get bored of the quests, or the uninteresting storyline and WVW is just a zergfest which is thoroughly unexplained.
I really like this game, but am finding a hard time to stay interested. Any ideas?
Thanks a lot or providing some insight
Aside from Backstab, which needs to be primed anyways…how is Aegis of any use?
GM = General Managers, meaning the broad spectrum of managers throughout and within the Guild Wars 2 Franchise
These short weeks have shown me that the people who are making this game/community, really do care about their product. I’m very pleased with the amount of community participation I’ve seen from Community Coordinator level all the way up to Game Designer/Graphics Designers.
This game will live long on this premise alone. I do understand that under the most dire topics we still haven’t received a response yet due to the nature of promising nothing until a final and undergoing decision is being executes.
I must ask you though, that if you do find a topic that you can’t answer right away…please give the people concerned a verification that you recognize the issue if you see it as one.
Thank you very much and we can’t wait for the next few months ahead!
Long Live Guild Wars 2!
Please keep all criticism, feedback and discussion mature within this thread, as you would any other
bump please! It would be good to get some sort of answer
Will you be able to play in these acts despite your level? Or will you have to be strictly 80 and have your storyline completed in order to partake?
I play this game casually and therefore I haven’t had the pleasure of playing your game to the full end as of right now. I’m sure we’ll all be able to join in the festivities, but these events are clearly a key part of the whole content drop.
If these events are restricted to level caps and such, then when will the abilities to participate in each of the acts be taken away?
I believe that this world, Tyria, is lucious and wonderful. Unfortunately we are only exposed to a biased view so far. I loved the idea of keg foot ball (what ever its called) and I think its most important to create a side of enjoyment/creativity where everyone can relish in eachother.
To ArenaNet : This is a world, not a war.
Yes, we definitely need this.
I would definitely love too see karma being more in use. I, unfortunately, dont see the premise of it going towards a war and believe that the devs have a separate use for this.
Karma should be light rewards for morally redeeming gestures and activities, not an excuse to do well for war.
I see karma as a cultural currency rather than a war currency. I agree that a separate currency should be established but stress that activities such as killing mobs and completing events reflect reward on that currency.
My thought would be, with such a wide culture base, it would be safer to be more open than closed regarding choices in these kinds of things. But that’s just me.
That depends on your definition of safe. Bioware got death threats (potentially serious ones) for including same-sex relationships in Mass Effect, even though it was completely 100% optional and if you weren’t interested you never even had to know it was there.
As soon as you allow your establishment to be swayed by those with narrow minds, you lose all integrity. Death threats or not, people should be sensible enough to make their Own decisions and subject themselves to what they feel comfortable.
I dont understand how it would be more profitable than it is now.
Under my proposition a tax would be placed on items sold to vendors, money looted from monsters and funds obtained through events/victories.
This, in no way, allows more funding to be obtained and completely introduces a separate currency designed solely for structural enhancement and siege investments.
Try telling your girlfriend to join you in holy guildromony :p
Thanks a lot for your answers, I have a feeling I’ll need these basic transmutation stones until 80 :P
Marriage should come with a ring that always shows where your other is on the map. Affection is most important when its uncommon in place of war.
Also suggest a pink/white glow to surround both characters when they are within 100
Somewhere else on this forum there is a discussion suggesting a tax to be present on players who captured structures with guilds.
With this done, as a guild officer or leader you would be able to set the tax rate.
I advise that these taxations be kept only in the WvW universe.
I would also advise a percentage of effectiveness be introduced on attack and defense victories.
For Example :
Raise 10s – get 10% of a victory
Raise 25s – get 25%
Raise 50s – get 40% and half karma
Raise 1g – get 50% and full karma
The reasoning for not getting full xp is due to the fact that if you are raising funds and not fighting, you shouldn’t get full credit for a victory…but your sacrifice upholds the notion of karma.
As for doing both well…i would say an extra percentage in rewards wouldn’t be out of the question.
Taxations should be an AOE around structures if your guild owns multipleof them so you can properly designate the intensity of your taxes and be rewarded for multiple victories.
If this standard of taxing were only kept in the wvw universe then I would strongly agree to this despite how poor I am. It encourages all the right things
I’ve been a casual gamer in this amazing mmo. I have rolled guardian and I’ve learned to love and hate the class…but I’m still young at level 30.
From the beginning until level 30, my character hasn’t changed a bit….what gives?
Is retaliation 100% dmg reflected?
Would I be mistakened by saying that purchasing diamonds AT ALL is bad or this “economy”? By purchasing these products you’re literally taking the gold out of the game and making it more scarce, thus, more in demand. Unless this is intentional…
I must say that the portrayal of the main quest-lines step by step progression is very offsetting and often leaves me just skipping through it. This frame of certainty, uninterest and lack of emotion has certainly stolen the ferocity from the game.
