No, bugs are anything that does not function as intended, negative or positive. This was obviously a bug, as confirmed by an ANet rep five months ago and just now fixed. Also obviously because you can’t get into the place without gyrations. Accept it, move to “now what can we do about it?” phase.
I’m fairly certain understanding why Anet decided to patch Salma, whether it was causing glitches in the game or not, comes before pleading with the devs to reevaluate their decision and give us RPers a compromise. Understand it or not, there is likely a much broader answer other than “because it is a bug” as this game has many, some much more game breaking than uninstanced Salma and Anet has neglected to fix those.
In other words, why fix what was not harming the game or hampering players in any way?
Because it was a bug that was reported. I’m not sure why this is so hard.
Except common sense would dictate bugs usually impact the game in some negative manner, uninstanced Salma (that we know of) did no such thing … not sure why that is so hard.
Meanwhile at the Anet boardroom…
“So ladies and gents, let’s conjure up new ways to inconvenience roleplayers. You know, that demographic who is probably the most loyal to this casual game and is pretty much responsible for purchasing all the fluff items we offer through the gem store.”
“Bill… great idea, have a promotion.”
In other words, why fix what was not harming the game or hampering players in any way? After nine months why now do you decide to limit RPers even more, Anet?
OP probably should have looked up with the word Unique meant in GW2 terms. However I learned what Unique in a mmo meant through the same scenario of mistakenly buying two of the same items back in warcraft so I feel for you bro.
However I can’t help but laugh at people’s argument that terms in a video game are going to have identical definitions as their real world counterparts. So because I know what the term ‘ascended’ means I’ll automatically know how the word relates to things in GW2?
Laughable logic.
Hadn’t WvW since October after constantly running into large groups popping up until two feet in front of me so I decided to try again with the last patch and I haven’t noticed an improvement. IMHO since the patch I’ve seen even worse results. Oh well, guess I’ll put Gw2 back on the shelf until they get this fixed.
I don’t see this as an issue. Allow it to stay open.
Anet fixing what isn’t broken? I hope not. Please change it back.
The coral petals for the vista at Triumph Plaza in the Straights of Devastation aren’t appearing. The static objects seem to be invisible for some reason yet collision remains as I’m able to jump on the objects to to the top as seen in the picture.
Not amount of relogging or swinging/pivoting my camera around made the objects appear. No flickering visibility either.

I’ve done this puzzle 9 times so far
It’s not that hard.
Title. Bought wrong item at a vendor, figured I’d ask it here before making the trouble of a ticket.
Thanks for the responses.
So was going to purchase Eye of the North for the armor rewards but have a couple of questions.
-Do I need to buy a used or new copy of the game? I’m not sure if there’s a keycode I have to enter to my original GW account for the expansion and if so, I’m assuming I have to buy EOTN new.
-As soon as I attach EOTN to my original GW account what’s my next step? Can I immediately access EOTN in Guild Wars 2 or is there content I must complete in GW1 in order to do so. If yes, what kind of content is that and will it require a high level toon in GW1? I only played until about level 8 or so.
Most things you can do as a low level. The book quests are the only trouble I’d see you having.
Restarting client fixes it, just was getting unlucky.
There is a bug where the mad king remains on his rock platform and the message “Do as the Mad King says” remains. No amount exiting/reentering will fix the bug. Problem is if you enter someone else’s instance that is bugged you will be bugged as well and pass it along to the next group you join.
Any fixes for this?
Leave party and restart the game… or go to character select.
First thing I tried, doesn’t seem to fix it. That or I’m getting unlucky and grouping with parties that are bugged.

The only ability that has a cast time ( and needs to be removed) is Signet of Rage. /thread
I’m sure this has happened to most. You’ve tried reviving a downed ally and then suddenly you are being pounded with attacks and aoe so you tried to either dodge roll or just move away but you can’t. You’re suck and no variation of button or ability smashing will move your character. You can only watch as your health drops while your toon stands there stupidly in aoe and attacks.
I understand you can’t move while reviving a player, naturally, but being unable to break away from channeling the revive has to be a bug. I’m always among the first to try and revive an ally but this is the one major thing that stops me from wanting to: being unable to break away from reviving an ally if things turn bad.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Even in their broken state warriors are an excellent 1v1 class which is fine and dandy if 1v1 was actually a common situation.
It’s not that they’re a terrible class and I don’t even think they necessarily need a damage buff. The problem lies within their crap utility skills, all over the place traits, poor design, and lack of attention (or care) by Anet.
Yeah I think the slow alone would be amazing against thieves. Doubtful however it effects their attacks to prevent being bursted. :/
Superior Sigil of Hydromancy
Freeze nearby foes for 3 second when you swap to this weapon while in combat.
(Cooldown: 9 seconds)
Double-click to apply to a weapon.
Freeze = Movement speed decreased by 66%; skill cooldown increased by 66%; stacks duration.
I figure this rune + shield would be a nice addition to prevent being bursted down. Useful against GS warriors but I wonder if the chilled effect applies to thieves as their attacks don’t have cooldowns and instead use initiative?
If anyone could answer me this as well as provide details on their experiences using this sigil that’d be great.
Figured it was something along the lines of closing the client.
Pretty sad if you ask me but hey, scrub players gotta do what scrub players gotta do. Guess I’ll just pop frenzy to insta’ finish them and then laugh.
I’ve been seeing this more and more lately, when I’m about to finish off a downed player they disappear. Me as well as entire groups have been left dumbfounded looking around for the enemy player they were about to finish off who suddenly vanished completely. I’ve pvp’d for quite awhile so I have an idea on each profession’s downed abilities. These aren’t thieves and mesmers, it’s guardians, warriors and engineers just as much.
After such occurrences I’ve stayed in the area searching for them/spamming aoe abilities but they don’t reappear.
So how are players doing this? Are they using some waypoint/heart of the mists traveling exploit really fast after they’re downed? Because from what I know you can’t waypoint travel in combat.
Are they quickly logging out/closing their client to avoid getting finished? Are they teleporting somehow? Or is this just a part of the WvW invisibility bug?
So has anyone else experienced this?
