I’ve been playing around with guardian builds recently and took a close look at BoT for the first time, traited correctly you can get ten conditions removed over 30 seconds plus an aoe heal. Yet I almost never see people use it, is there some huge flaw to it that I’m not aware of?
So I main a guardian and mostly do PvE and dungeons, however, I would also like to try things like WvW roaming and fractals every once in a while. I was wondering if this build (mostly made for PvE) would at least be okay to work in those different areas or if I’ll need to completely change my traits and gear.
Here is the shout variation
I just played the new boss for the first time and after quickly realizing I had no idea what to do and failing, I was wondering if someone could explain to me this bosses mechanics.
Was participation in Flame and Frost the only way to get the Sentinel’s Intricate Gossamer Insignia or did they introduce it as a regular insignia to the armorsmith?
My guardian recently became level 30 (the minimum level requirement for Ascalonian Catacombs) and I was wondering if it is ok to run the dungeon now or if I should wait until I’m a higher level. This question applies for all of the dungeons. In addition, if I were to run it, how would I find a good group to go with?
I’ve been looking up necro builds but it doesn’t seem like many people use these two as a combo. Is there any reason why?
If you want to WvW, I would pick up some Sentinel(soldier if too expensive) and Knight’s gear. Will buffer your survivability. If you go PvE dungeons I would start off with some defensive gear and slowly implement more and more berserker as you become more accustomed to your class and playstyle. Drop CoP and get HtL! for protection. Protection is a life saver to guardians and allies in any situation.
Mace is also a very supporty weapon and would recommend a healing power based build/gear layout with it. Best results for AH builds are Hammer.
Thanks! I’ll play around with it and see if I can put a bit more into honor as well.
PvE guys have a little more scope for variety of build, but mostly guardians run into problems with HPs if they vary away from Valour 30+Honour 30. I’d love to spec Virtues, but the other toughness/vitality are necessary.
When enemies are pumping out the kind of damage highlighted in this image, you simply can’t compromise on survivability.
K thanks for that!
Just going to ask this question for anyone who may want to give feedback. This is a PVE build(based of the gw2skills tab you chose)?
Whoops sorry yes it is. XD
So I’ve been spending a while on the forums trying to get to know this game better and I think I’ve come up with a build I want to go for with my guardian. I don’t know if it’s already used or if I’m missing a lot and its actually really bad. It’s mostly based off of things I’ve read and YouTube videos. The basic premise is an AH build except you have 30 in virtues to get the most duration out of your boons and for Power of the Virtuous. I have the staff because I believe it best compliments AH (am I wrong?) and because I heard that it’s one of the better weapons for this class. The mace and torch are mostly just cause I like the torch, and mace has two abilities that can trigger AH. I didn’t really know what to put as my elite skill so I put renewed focus because it seems like a popular one. Lastly you will notice that I didn’t put any armor on. That’s because I wanted to try and get some input on my build before I opened that can of worms. Just as a disclaimer forgive me if anything I said makes me sound like a noob. I certainly am one but I’m trying to use the forums to expand my knowledge. Thanks in advance for those who reply

I just recently started playing GW2 and I’ve been looking online for builds for my Sylvari guardian. However, I’ve never come across a build that used a torch, neither have I heard anyone say anything about it being good or bad. Personally it is my favorite off hand weapon and I was wondering if I’m missing something or if more people just have a personal preference for shield/focus.
I’m pretty new to MMOs and I’m not a huge fan of the default controls for GW2. I was wondering if people could post their control schemes so I can try to find one that doesn’t have me keyboard turning and clicking on my abilities to activate them. Right now I just have a regular $20 mouse with just one button on either side of it. Any advice would be helpful! Thanks in advance:)
So I’m fairly new to Gw2 and I tried WvW the other day but I couldn’t quite figure out what I was supposed to do. I’m not trying to say anything bad about the game, I love it! I was just wondering if someone could give me a step by step explanation of what to do right as you enter WvW for the first time.
