Guild Wars 2

I’ve gotten everything for Winters Presence but the drinks. At the time of posting, I’m sitting at 700 drinks, and that’s with playing far more than I really should be right now. I’m abysmal at the JP (it’s frankly a miracle I completed it 3 times), Toypocalypse is incredibly repetitive and dull to me, and while I do like the bell playing, it also is quite dull (more song selection would be amazing). I dunno. I don’t consider myself casual, but I’m nowhere near hardcore (played since launch, just this year broke 100 gold for the first time), so this just seems so out of reach. The only reason I think I might be able to make it is because my husband agreed to give any drinks he acquires to my character.

All that said, it is purely cosmetic, so I can’t rage about it too hard. I just like playing dressup.

Goodness sake, I’ve played this game (albeit more casually) since the beginning and never knew about this thread. I’ll need to pay back some kindness later I think.

Things I would eventually like to have? Ah, the typical legendaries (Bifrost, why you so sparkly), but that’s silly to ask of here because that should be my hard work! For something more reasonable…

The jack-a-lop mini. Oh gosh that mini. I have two rabbits of my own, and I need that mini at some point in my life.

60-ish(?) charged lodestones. The Foefire’s Essence is the sword I decided to go for when I figured a legendary was out of my league. I have everything else but those darned lodestones.

This might get lost amongst these postings, but thank you ANet people who are perusing the forums and reading the commentary and critique. There’s been blind rage (of course), but I see a lot of wonderfully thought out criticisms from people in this thread and I hope some of that gets taken into consideration for future events. After I turned off GW2 today, I left just furious. I’ve never left this game angry. Even when I get trounced in PvP multiple times in a row have I left truly angry. I don’t have any inclination to turn the game on and play for a bit before bed, which is what I usually do.

I made a small reply earlier with further thoughts, and since then I’ve just been stewing and venting on my own. So thank you for reading through what people have to say. And thank you to the GW2 community for offering critique. I like GW2 because it can evolve and change over time, so I’m happy to see people in the thick of it and working to make that happen.

I really don’t have much to add as it seems a lot of people have mirrored my exact feelings with this event. I am so happy to see some actual constructive feedback going on, with a lot of really good suggestions.

Words cannot express my frustration with this Mordrem Invasion event. The lack of rewards isn’t even my biggest issue (though it is one), it’s the fact that it just isn’t fun. Even if I try and fail Triple Trouble with a map, we get a little something, and it’s an organized effort with a group. This Invasion is a frantic blitz with no coordination and a complete disregard for a players valuable time. Two and a half hours today spent running around, trying to follow a commander, with a few Blooms at the end to show for it. I’d have a much more fulfilling time in WvW, EotM, Silverwastes, Fractals, ANYTHING.

I cashed in the Blooms I managed to scavenge, and I leave this invasion for people with more tolerance than me. I love ArenaNet and GW2, I really do. I look forward to the holiday events (I ADORE Christmas time, and GW2 is a huge factor in that emotion), I am jumping at the bit for Heart of Thorns, but this… this was a mess. I’m upset that I’m upset over this. I wanted to get my younger sis and friends back in the game since they all have low level characters, but the Mordrem Invasion is a just a waste of time.

I don’t draw GW2 that much, but I did slowly start making my way through guild mates and friends with quicker sketches of some of their playable characters. Here’s a few.

Happy I haven’t missed an announcement on this! I would like to know when we get to know the results though…

Interesting. I’ve had the same issue, though I thought it was perhaps a Mac only thing since my husband hasn’t experienced it with his Windows desktop.

Incredibly annoying and I hope it can get fixed soon.

I think in this case a support ticket is better than just reporting it ingame. I am not sure if GMs will recognize that its a broken item link used to grief players.

I understand that. But reporting the people who are maliciously posting it in chat? Heck yeah.

Glad that this is on the radar. Have just been blocking and reporting for spam anyone that has been posting it in chat.

So so happy, I completed the Carapace armor set and she’s exactly how I want her! Well, the helm doesn’t look as cool, so she’s still got the draconic helm.

Gotta agree with the greater mobility.

Or, actually, I wish the hammer felt as nice to use as the greatsword. Which is a kind of nebulous observation to make, just… greatsword FEELS good to use. Hammer feels odd and clunky.

My baby guardian was posted all the way back on page 1, and my, look how she’s grown (all up to level 80)!

Usually, I’m kind of against boob armor, but after having some bulky looking stuff for the longest time, I think she can show a little skin at this point.

And yay for keeping the original pauldron skin!

I gave it a go three or four times and decided to pass. I had too many other things I had to attend to and a limited time to play games, and I didn’t want to spend it all getting frustrated over one puzzle. Hopefully next year!

$20 to get some keys and a costume, and got one skin. I’m content with this.

Google is a very powerful tool my friend. That’s exactly how I found them.

Wasn’t working on Isle of Janthir either. Sort of. My fiancé was able to get the first ghost a few hours ago and then nothing. I couldn’t get anything, and people surrounding the area couldn’t get anything.

I went ahead and just looked up where the other ghosts were, so now I have five pages and am stuck again because I still need that first ghost. Still bugged as of 2:45 Pacific time. I’d stay up and get frustrated with it more, but I suppose I have work tomorrow…

Haha, oh man, it finally hit me how annoying my human characters little squeaks were a couple days ago. I’ve done weight lifting with other women before, and those are NOT the sounds we make when we exert power.

Ah well, it bothers me until the novelty of my little human wielding a greatsword hits again.

It adds a little bit of flavor to those early story missions, but it doesn’t seem to come in to play after that initial foray.

I can already tell you that this challenge would not be for me! I use the Guardian’s defensive capabilities and survivability as the perfect excuse to charge in on things head on with little regard for personal safety!

There’s nothing quite like feeling that you are the head of a charge. And the rewards are always so very worth the risk!

Exactly my excuse! I love spying groups of enemies in PvE and just going “Yeah, I could take them, and then those others guys could be pulled and then I can just get EVERYONE with my greatsword.” Risky for sure, but I’ve been able to pull through large groups of enemies really well on my own. I MAY have been a little smug after I finished one of the story missions (swarms of undead on the beach), two levels beneath the suggested, and pulled through without downing or killing myself ONCE. Then hearing my fiance telling me his engineer died three times and he was ten levels higher than me (er, well, ten levels higher before being leveled down to the mission level).

Still tweaking though. I can’t kill things very fast, but they can barely touch me for a good long while.

Good luck! I’ve gone almost ten levels without dying, and getting downed for very very short periods of time. The survivability of the guardian is awesome if you have a setup you like.

Now if only I could jive with water combat a little more…

Have you tried the spear? For me it pumps out massive damage but its mostly limited to 1 target and a conal aoe

I just recently switched to a spear! I was seeing a bit more of an improvement with that, which I am very thankful for.

Yes, and on the same server. So don’t be on the overflow then move to the live server when you’re trying to do it. (Also, don’t log out.)

Ugh, well that explains why my experience bar for that monthly hasn’t moved at all. That is extremely frustrating, especially after going from level 40-49 without dying at all and expecting that to work. :/

Oooo hammer is gonna get some tweaking? Excitement! I was all for the hammer until I found my first greatsword. Then it was love at first swing.

Oh man, I feel like the baby guardian of the group. I started shifting toward the first tier cultural armor as I am a sucker for aesthetic look over anything else.

I believe Rook has it right. Honestly, I like retaliation when I’m in a tight spot, or when I’m in a group of other players and give all of THEM retaliation too.
