The Kodan Tonic in WvW is being spammed, and is causing my character model to disappear due to the extreme animation stress on my video card – in addition, several of my guild mates are unable to play due to the animation giving them migraines. It could potentially cause seizures too. Please disable and fix the tonic.

Being paired with FA was a lot of fun, it helped that we already knew people on the server from when our guild had transferred there back in the day before moving back to BP where we originated from. I want to thank all our FA friends for their hospitality these last few months and I know BEEP is going to miss you!
My own .02 regarding this 4 server link-up – Logistically it’s going to take time to figure things out – What TS should we all use? How will 4 different servers with 4 different styles syngergize? Who’s going to take what BL on reset? Will there be sufficient communication and finally, knowing that we’ll be relinked again in 2 months, will all of us be hesitant to establish friendships. I agree with Balth about this: it’s like we’re all army brats: what’s the point in making friends if you know you’re going to leave soon.
I hope our servers can quickly get up to speed together. BEEP has enjoyed structured, organized WvW communications with our previously linked server, our guild leaders have researched builds and group compositions and we follow those pretty closely; most of us are able to switch fully geared professions to fill gaps (need more frontline? no problem we got that, need more backline? no problem we got that too) We’re also a fun-loving, silly group of people, and we welcome Kaineng, ET and CD to join in the fun anytime! But please, stay on tag <3
Good luck to everyone!

Dear Anet,
Perhaps directly addressing the way WvW tiers and map caps are set up, would alleviate the majority of complaints your WvW player base have griped about for 3 years.
Perhaps asking your WvW player base their opinion about reset times, even through a poll with 3 choices, would alleviate the majority of complaints posted here.
You may feel WvW is a ‘small portion’ of your game and, “no one exclusively plays WvW” Sorry Reyana you’re the ‘exception’: but as shown in these forums, perhaps you should reconsider your P.O.V. on that. WvW has a loyal and dedicated base, those customers would appreciate some love and attention and I’m guessing would be happy to pay for dedicated WvW goodies in order to support your company.
Just such a shame.

We’re a PvX guild, and have our WvW rally/guild missions & new raid schedule set – this throws a very large wrench into our plans for post-HoT release. I foresee our numbers dropping with this unexpected change. Indeed, by once again making changes without any forethought to the WvW community, or the guilds at large, Anet degrades the system. I strongly, but respectfully, request the Anet Dev’s to rethink this idea and receive feedback/input from the community at large.

I would really like to see most of the shouts have no cast time at all, or very short, no more than .5 second – Warrior, Guardian and Ranger shouts have very little or no cast times: If nothing else, at least the stun break shout should have no cast time at all.

Genavelle – I know it’s discouraging and I know you and JoshXT take WvW very seriously, I sympathize with your frustration – I know several others in our mutual guild that feel the same frustration you guys do:
That being said, while there are a percentage of dedicated, WvW only players, I wouldn’t imagine they’re in the majority. if they’re like I am, as a PvX’r, more players than not enjoy GW2 content across all sections of the game. That would explain Anet focusing more on PvE content vs. WvW or even PvP. Not saying that’s right, but it’s pretty obvious that’s the case.
If I had to choose one thing for the Dev’s to find a solution to, would be the imbalance created by the existing server based system and tier scoring that creates a “chase the tastiest carrot” atmosphere – i.e. bandwagon server transfers to get to the best fights without all the queues. I know many of us who have transferred servers more than 4 or 5x and some have done it 9-10 or even more than that.
Ultimately, it’s really up to each of us to figure out if it’d be worth A. buying the xpac prior to release B. continuing to pay GW2.
Personally, I love GW2 (and GW1) and will continue to play the game in all of its’ incarnations.

Dear Dev’s..
After opening one of the gear boxes that we receive with our beta testing this weekend, just for fun, I threw in some of the exotic weapons and look what I got!
WHY ANET?? WHY!!! I can’t keep it, I can’t sell it, I can’t bank it, I can’t mail it..
WHY ANET?? WHY!!!
Ok so .. honestly I think it’s hilarious!!!

As a GW1 player, and a GW2 player since Beta, I don’t mind the pricing of the xpac tiers. I I have 4.6k hours and regularly play 5 fully geared level 80 toons in WvW and PvE. I even have an extra slot waiting to level up a Rev. I would have appreciated a modicum of consideration for players who already owned the core game.
Anet could have easily offered the following:
A. You own the core game? Great! Here’s HOT and 1 character slot for the $50 Standard package. Deluxe would have gotten the first set of extra goodies and the Ultimate get’s a few extra goodies over and above the previous two.
B. You’ve never played? Great! Here’s Hot and a free copy of the core game for $50.
This simple solution would have alleviated a lot of the rage we see here and on reddit, and Anet would still make the kitten load of money they want.

This makes me sad – As a consistent and dedicated WvW’r, I felt a certain amount of satisfaction honing my skills, creating builds for my various toons and earning enough points to reach my Gold ranking, and with that the advantages I received spending all the points. Now Anet wants to make it easy for everyone and ignore their dedicated, long-time players? This is how you kill a game.
I do applaud making upgrades free from gold/coin. That’s about the only thing that they’re doing right in this instance.
BLAH!

coax “You don’t put in effort to sign up for a newsletter”
You’ve proven my point about it being just as unfair to sign up via email/newsletter to get a chance to get the portal – It’s just as unfair to grind for 50 hours and not get the portal either, but at least you show you’re playing the game. I like Astral’s suggestion, it seems like a happy medium and gives those of us who do play the game consistently the best chance at participating in the beta. Now, if anyone else has a constructive idea, please share
If you’re just going to kitten complain, move along, nothing to see here!

In the end, there really is no simple way to grant beta testing access to everyone – Would anyone like to offer up some constructive alternative SOLUTIONS?
Yes. Make the portal token more easily acquirable (and not only in SW/DT, also in other maps and gamemodes). Set the difficulty at the level that would mean you are active, but would not require massive grind. Then make the final choice random out of all people that got the portal. So, basically, the first stress test selection method, but with a step that filters out inactives.
That’s a constructive suggestion! Now, if Anet exec’s/decision-makers are listening?? Thank you

In the interest of full disclosure: I participated in the first beta stress test, and after about 12 hours total farming in SW, I did get my beta portal drop.
My thoughts on the subject:
A. what I liked about using in game content to gain access to the closed beta: Rewarding ACTIVE players with the opportunity to roll for a beta key. With the previous “sign up for the newsletter and we’ll pick some names out of a hat” system, players who rarely played had the same chance as those of us who play consistently (myself included with nearly 5k hours not including my time in the original GW2 BETA). I understand Anet wants to encourage inactive players to get excited about some new content, they do run a business , but hardcore players should have the first option ahead of very casual players.
B. what I disliked about using in game content to gain access to the closed beta:
The grind that was forced upon all players which has led to serious frustration and discouragement by those same loyal, hardcore players. I have several guildmates who have spend endless hours farming in both DT and SW and they still haven’t rolled their beta keys. I WANT these people to get their keys and if I COULD, I would give them my key. The sign up for newsletter pull a rabbit out of your hat system at least avoided the grind frustration and what we not-so-affectionately call being “Silverwasted” .
In the end, there really is no simple way to grant beta testing access to everyone – Would anyone like to offer up some constructive alternative SOLUTIONS? Having a kitten doesn’t solve anything, even though it may make you feel better <3

I would imagine while the beta portal drop thing is still going, we won’t hear anything about when the closed beta is actually scheduled for. If you’ve subscribed to the newsletter, you will get a notification with information. I was part of the first beta and received my email a day ahead of the actual beta test. I expect it’ll work the same with this second beta, which I’ll also be participating in. Patience!

After about 12 hours of farming over 3 days, I finally rng’d my beta portal – it was defending a yellow bull run to amber from red, and dropped from the mob that spawns to attack the bull.

I’m getting more & more frustrated with this issue – it’s been several hours and Anet has not yet resolved the problem. I understand patches and major updates will have problems but this is too much.
Man has will, but Woman has her way – Oliver Wendell Holmes
Having the same issue: I try to launch the install launcher, it minimizes to my taskbar and nothing else happens. I’ve rebooted, cleared cache, and even direct connected to the internet via my router instead of wirelessly, still nothing happens.. Thanks a lot Anet!

Attempting to log in and download the new patch, the log in window tries to initialize then minimizes to my task bar and nothing else happens. I’ve rebooted my system, cleared cache, and direct connected to my internet/router and still the same issue. This is super frustrating.
I submitted a ticket, can only hope tech support gives me some useful info or, Anet fixes this problem! Bummed I can’t get in to play.
