Would be nice if all the currencies were interchangeable somehow, but that’d just lead to exploiting and farming whichever is easiest to earn and exchanging them. If you didn’t notice, Anet is trying to spread players out as much as possible, there’s no way they’d do something like this.
we mesmers really need confusion for spvp, we’d be pretty powerless without it, it’s easily our best build for spvp
I have 350+ hours on my mesmer now, and absolutely love them. They have a very different playstyle which can take a while to get used to, and isn’t for everybody, but it pays off. If you’re having problems with dps, try the following:
1. Look for equipment with power, precision, and critical % above all else while leveling
2. Use a greatsword in your main hand. Make sure to pull out your phantasm, num 4 skill, and keep him out as much as possible. Keep at max distance to maximize damage.
3. Use a sword main hand and pistol (or focus when you get used to it) in offhand. Pull out the phantasm (#4 on pistol, #5 on focus) first, then use the number three skill twice with your sword to close distance and use number 2 skill for burst dps.
4. When you’re having problems surviving, use a staff and focus on keeping chaos armor up.
5. Make sure to stay on top of upgrading armor and weapons, either through the trading post or crafting, again with those three damage stats.
Mesmers have some awesome skills later on in the game. Time warp is amazing for dungeons and can make everybody in your party do skills twice as fast for ten seconds. We can use portal to move virtually entire armies in wvw, or to help people with jumping puzzles, or getting past a tricky part of a dungeon. Also, we kick butt in spvp
I really hope they do more with the consortium in southsun, the whole secret society sorta vibe they give off is intriguing xD
I don’t get why people complain… anet literally gives us laurels for free on top of the dailies we already previously do, and people complain. Ridiculous. With fotm, dailies/monthlies, and now guild missions, ascended stuff is really easy to get. What’s more, it’s fun to get, even for a casual player.
If people are going to complain this much about ascended gear, then just don’t get the kitten stuff. If playing the game for 30 minutes a day is too hard, then maybe ascended gear isn’t for you. We have it way, way better than players in other games. This game isn’t nearly as grindy as people seem to say, and what grind there is I find considerably funner than most other mmos out there.
come back and tell us how much you like dailies after 365 of them in a row.
Been doing em since day 1, and they’ve only gotten better.

The living story guy near the refugees in LA mentioned that the consortium is considering building homes for the refugees in southsun. Does this mean we’ll see a new major hub there?
imo guild missions are going to bring a ton of life back to southsun, of course depending on how exactly they’re implemented.
Leveling an alt, I was working on a particular heart, in which one is supposed to recover stolen food supplies and use a set of traps to delay ettins and cave trolls from attacking you. However, like with many other hearts, it’s often easier just to kill enemies. You get more progress towards completing a heart by killing a single ettin than taking the time to actually do all the other requirements for a heart.
It seems with every heart, no matter what it’s for, there’s almost always the side objective (despite what the main objectives are) to just kill the red names around the area. Maybe it’s just me, but I think with how easy it is to cap out a heart just by killing enemies, it’s a little too easy just to walk into the general area of a heart, kill a bunch of mobs, and leave without ever needing to figure out what actually is going on. You never have to talk to the npc(s) about their problems, learn about the story of the region, or actually complete any other objectives besides rounding up and slaughtering a bunch of mobs. I’d personally like to see the progress achieved for killing a single mob (except for the hearts which are solely dedicated to killing mobs) nerfed a little. The devs have put so many cool mechanics and ideas into these hearts; they sometimes feel a little wasted.
Crafting is seriously the easiest daily requirement, I always am a little happier when I see it on the list when dailies reset.
The first thing I would do is get into a good guild, preferably one that is nuby-friendly. Do some research on the server you’re on and look for a large, non-specific, non-elitist guild and rely on them for advice. The social aspect of this game is pretty lonely without a good guild behind you.
Secondly, explore. This game rewards you for exploring everywhere. When you’re leveling up, explore to find resources, POIs, dynamic events, jumping puzzles, etc. Jump into WvW and follow around the commander icons, or jump into the heart of the mists and check out all the skills, traits, and weapons your class can use.
And welcome to gw2
Definitely some great changes, I like the statue and density changes the most, though I still really wish they would add higher scaling on the DEs.
I’m guessing this was a hint about Triforge, although it’s not legendary
Nice catch, where is that building? I’ve never seen it. Definitely looks like you’re on to something though.
I vaguely remember before the game came out, or shortly thereafter, arenanet mentioning in a post about legendaries that there would be hints hidden throughout the world of Tyria as to how to acquire these weapons.
I was expecting this would mean something like running across cave paintings and ancient tomes that would subtly hint at how legendaries are made.
But, I haven’t found anything at all in the game world about legendaries. Do these hints exist? I’ve only ever referred to the wiki for all I need to know about legendaries, but I’m curious as to how other players figured them out.
