I’ve been on Gandara since before the tournament, completing the meta-achievement in the second or third week. My achievement correctly ascribes ‘1st place’ in the Spring 2014 tournament, however I did not receive the reward chest or finishers.
Considering that lessons don’t appear to have been learnt from the first WvW season, (where many player’s rewards are still outstanding) this is all very disappointing, and yet another reason for me to feel that time spent with GW2 is not worthwhile.
Hi, hoping someone can help.
The last couple of evenings I have been suffering severe lag and skill delay to the degree that GW2 is unplayable. Other games do not seem to be affected and doing some speedtests do not show any issue.
Doing /ip gives me the IP address 206.127.159.153, however a ping to that address gives the following:

As I say this only started two days ago and as far as I can tell only GW2 has this problem.
I don’t generally post in the forums but felt the need to vent. I really enjoyed the last Living Story update in Kessex Hills, but the Tower of Nightmares is another matter. I’ve spent the last two evenings stuck with underpopulated overflows, trying to scale the tower through a combination of rapidly respawning veteran, elite and champion mobs and endless control effects.
I’m not opposed to grouping up, there are people in the overflow with me but everyone gets too spread out moving through the tower. Add to that my complete contempt for the Scarlett non-story and I think I’m done for the next two weeks.
More attention needs to be paid to how content scales with player numbers, and ensuring content remains viable in overflow instances
Switching the items between the slots made no difference. In the end I realised that the ruby jewels were a lot cheaper than I remembered, and just went ahead.
After transmutation I ended up with the appearance of the Censer and the cavalier stats and ruby jewel, so it does work as you might expect.
I have the Fervid Censer back piece from the Southsun living story (a rare with an infusion slot …) and would like to transmute it onto my exotic cavalier (w/ ruby slotted) back piece. I’d assumed when I did so I would be able to select the exquisite ruby upgrade, and lose the infusion slot, however the ruby jewel doesn’t appear in the transmute window at all … I don’t really want to lose the upgrade.
If I transmute the Fervid Censer onto an exotic backpiece, what will happen to the upgrade jewel? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I couldn’t find an answer anywhere.
Thank you for your answer. I just hope Anet see sense and do something to improve Charr gear aesthetics. No way I’m re-rolling my female Charr warrior so I’ll just have to live with it
Hi,
I’m about to kit my female Charr warrior out in cultural armor, and will probably want to add a nice back piece at the same time (most likely the flower from the Southsun living story).
Unfortunately I chose a short, skinny shape and any back piece floats in thin air, as do my weapons – so I’m considering getting a makeover kit to change this. But do any of the female shapes really improve this? I’d much appreciate it if someone could suggest shape with the best ‘fit’.
Thanks in advance
Seems pretty widespread and has been reported since launch; hard to believe they aren’t aware of it.
Tried to play this evening but the lag was as atrocious as ever, both through the new Dragon Bash instance and then in WvW (entered a fight where I don’t think I even got the auto-attack off successfully).
And now all out recent posts get merged into some generic trashcan that was started 9 months ago. I’m beginning to doubt there is any interest or ability to resolve this issue, and I’ll probably give it another week before uninstalling this sorry excuse for a game. But hey, they all already have all the money they’ll ever get from me, so I doubt very much they care.
I had a short spell like that yesterday evening when the lag went away, then it just came back again
FWIW I’m having the same problems tonight as for the last few days, with the added ‘bonus’ of disconnects. I’ll post the networkdiag.log at the weekend when I have more time if I’m still having problems
I’d like to agree with this. There are more than enough threads in the tech support forum to justify some kind of response. Instead, there’s nothing. Please address these problems that are making the game unplayable for many people.
Agreed. Even if it’s “We’re aware this is a problem and we are investigating”. The continued silence is only going to make people wonder if this actually isn’t going to be resolved.
Yep, here it is again. I was home early today and was playing around 3 – 5 pm, no problems at all. Sure enough, came back to it now at 7.30 pm and it’s skill lag all the time.
Can we have some input from Support, please? This is the ‘Tech Support’ forum after all.
I find it works very nicely, and I love having good survivability without having to stick 30 pts into valor. Admittedly I use it in a more support-oriented way usually, and it’s brilliant for support.
On the occasions that I’ve gone solo roaming for fights, I’ve had decent wins 1v1, 1v2, even 1v3 but usually what happens is that I get too many adds (either friendly or hostile) before I can win the fight through attrition, or my opponent just disengages and moves on. Watching Chris’ videos he’s clearly on a different level to me, but that’s my experience.
Got this too just now. Nice of them to do, and would be churlish to say otherwise. Can’t say it makes me feel any better about the direction or state of the game though.
Just to add my own experience, attempting to WvW, freezing of 15-20 seconds and can’t even swap weapons. I’m in the UK, with Talk Talk. Game is essentially unplayable, I’m about to log out and find a better use for my free time (i.e. just about anything).
Not crashes, but terrible freezing of 15-20 seconds and so much skill lag I can’t even swap weapons.
I experienced this bug yesterday. Bug report filed, but I still missed out on bonus karma before I realised my karma booster was having no effect, and the 75 gems paid for it effectively went straight down the mystic toilet. Not impressed, but what’s one more bug to add to the number hanging around since launch?
The hats are nice but when in normal play do you ever get to enjoy them? If these things could be worn as armour, or for that matter if town clothes had any real purpose at all, they’d sell more.
Sometimes I seriously wonder whether some of us have a mark on our files. More than 600 hours played and not one single exotic dropped, either in the open world or from a world boss chest. I did get two low level exotics once from map completion, but that was probably 5 months ago, and I play most days.
Yes, I know, RNG. It’s still rubbish.
All that talk of FSP blobs, Gandara blobs … Anet decided to put us with AM to remind us what a blob is …
Performance in WvW has deteriorated greatly for me since the last patch. No change in hardware configuration on my end, or any obvious problems with my connection. Lowering my WvW graphics settings to lowest/lowest has helped a bit but it wasn’t necessary previously. I’m talking rubberbanding, single digit framerates, disconnections and 5-10 second freezes.
Try doing anything useful with that going on. Unplayable.
I’ve been having some technical issues since the patch – disconnects, 5-10 second freezes, skill lag in large doses and frame rates in single figures in larger fights. My PC isn’t that great but it’s substantially worse than before. I’m on FSP, I don’t know how many others are experiencing the same. It certainly put me off playing for now.
WvW is essentially unplayable for me, and has been since the patch. I can run around, if I don’t mind the game freezing every few seconds. But none of my skills work, even auto-attack or dodge, and half the time I’m not even sure if my character is alive or dead. Between the inability to place siege, crushing skill lag and freezes, it’s pretty much pointless to carry on playing.
If I did work equivalent to the standard of QA and coding we’re seeing here, I’d be ashamed to turn up to my job in the morning. So if this is representative of GW2 going forward, pull the plug now and we can go and play something that respects our time better.
