That would be a super obscure thing to check no matter what they were messing with. Good thing it’s a super simple fix. This totally worked for me!

rename gw2.tmp tp gw2.exe and delete old gw2.exe before it.
the file path is – /Applications/Guild Wars 2.app/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive

Same problem here, on mac. Occasionally, for a while now, I would get an error message stating the game had quit unexpectedly even though I had closed the game myself and all seemed normal. Now, much more often, I’m getting a similar ‘model leak detected’ message when I close the game.
(I’ve had no other problems with the client. It hasn’t even crashed on me once.)
I honestly think it’s a great system, and I’m one of those people who’ve been farming for days to no avail. I mean, really, I would be more frustrated if I found out someone who bought the game on sale, played it for about an hour and then walked away saying it was BS got a beta key just because Anet tried to be ‘fair’ by pulling from all players ever.
This way, we get a small influence in our drops, only active players have a chance, and it gets some people who haven’t played in a while to come back and stuff the maps full of chatter.
So, when you mentioned training and equipping a group of allies, it started me thinking. What if you could create and level your own? Like, you could pick from your alt characters, and they would become your little troupe, and you play them individually to level and equip them…
Either that, or a little scurry of skritt that follow along behind you collecting all your loot for you (“shiny, shiny, SHINY!”)
(Edit: this is what I get for starting a reply and walking away…I forgot to refresh before hitting ‘post’. It’s nice to know that I’m not alone in thinking this would be way cool, though)
On a slight side note, all these mentions of the paragon’s spear has got me thinking… Don’t some Tengu you meet carry spears? If we get a new race next expansion, and that race happens to be Tengu, that could be a cool time to drop in a new weapon or two.
So here’s my understanding (and if I’m wrong, maybe my wrong answer will attract a correction…) if you ‘monetize’ your youtube video with ads, you are making money off of the ad revenue, not the Guild Wars IP. You aren’t selling Guild Wars or anything associated, or claiming as your own… So it should be fine.
My knowledge on the topic is rather limited, though, so I may be misinterpreting what I have heard.

I did the megadestroyer the other day, and had stumbled across the breeze rider event just before-hand, had a blast smashing breeze riders while I killed time waiting for the megadestroyer, and it came up on schedule. So, I guess, one more vote in support of Halcyon’s theory?
Hadn’t known about this potential ‘fix’ to the event, so I haven’t been watching to see when it is/isn’t done before the event bugs.
I had this problem frequently, and it appeared to be some error between my router and my computer, not at all a game server or client issue. You might want to see if there’s any updates you’ve not been notified of yet or any other issues, maybe contact tech support for your computer/router if you can’t fix it with a round of updates…
