It happens often ppl try to do daily achievements for ranked games, i had 2 games in a row with a thief that just go afk from the start and he even told us he will do that for the daily “play 3 ranked matches a day” … needless to say how i feel about it, maybe if they move some of the achievements to other game mode it will be better.
Btw ppl selling games for gold is also a thing…

I agree sometimes the matchmaking is pretty bad and you will have to endure the struggle for a bit.But overall i dont see problem for average players that know at least the core aspect of spvp and know his class to reach legendary since i allready reach legend with 95% thief gameplay 100% soloq and i`m just average thief.
Just ask yourself is it really the others fault when you lose the games.
Common mistakes i see ppl do: they dont know how to rotate, ppl never watch the map , ppl get farmed at point going there 1 by 1 instead of regrouping, slow classess pushing far to decap when there is thief or mesmer in team, unnececery attempts to play 3 cap and etc… tl;dr; map awarness.
I agree that some daily`s and achievements should be moved to unranked that will filter most guys that just play to get some pve item.
Adding a surrender option will be good coz you will not need to wait the other team to win when u have afkers (yeah 3 games in a row with a guy that afk from the start just coz he need some achievement is pretty bad especially in legend)
If you dont lose pips what the point of the system?
+1 on the soloq i really cant understand why they dont bring it back along with q-ing from everywhere.

I dont want our class to be op but i dont want it to be one of the weakest also since all the power creep, bunker wars , condi spam and having in mind our squishines since all the changes that were made so far.
1. Merge panic strike + reveal training in one trait so we could be more brusty and actually +1 something a lot better in the current state of the game(with the auto buff this will make some sense but will it be to much? not sure tho)
2. Thrill of crime or Bountiful theft needs to have 1 seconds of stability on steal to one of the traits(not both, we lack any kind of stability aside from dagger storm which is meh anyway)
3.Reduce pain response in game cd.
4.instant reflexes is just useless with 40 sec in game cd so it need to be less or the trait needs to be evade all attacks lets say for the duration of engi invuln or passive endure pain for war that means at least 4 seconds.
5.Buff swindlers equillibrium with another 5% sword dmg so we can actually do something while weilding a sword and not being stucked with the same old d/p forever.
6.Shadow arts – Shadows embrace now also removes chill and the condi clear ticks are reverted back to pre 23 june patch so it clears 1 condi on enter stealth and 1 after the 3rd second.
7.Edit: i forgot that we still lack resistance and quickness on plasma stolen from mesmer.
I just want well balanced thief thats able to compete with the rest, i will have to say that i think thief atm feels the most balanced class and everything else kinda overtuned but i dont see the devs thinking that way and balance other classess.

I`m not complaining not whining but :
I have one question tho you made the “hight mmr” ppl progress faster by grouping them together vs lower mmr guys(in a certain range) so they can get to “where they belong” faster right(we all know about those game that are decided before they even start).

But my question is : if they are that good and outskill and outplay most of the players shouldnt they progress and move to where they belong anyway, without you helping them this way and by this creating a onesided loop matches for everyone else that is playing against them and creating frustration by this.

I cant see anything fair for the average players coz the game is rigged to degree by default and they will have to bear the struggle untill all higher mmr players than them progrress way ahead.

Last season the “pro guys” complained about not fun games coz they are matched with bad guys they had to carry.
If they want that much of a challange start matching the hight mmr guys against each other from the start of the season and avoid giving them worse players then them for enemys and teammates?

tl;dr;
you will never be able to make everyone happy whatever you do so maybe make the game fun at least with few patches a season and fixing some stuff that is unfixable from years…..

The thief role is very simple actually but hard to do sometimes if u cant read the map well and make the good decision when and where you are needed and how can u help overall.
Due to overall mobility i would say:
1.Decaps.
2.Never do 1v1s unless u are pretty confident u can get the job done fast.
(Never 1v1 a scrapper , druid or ele unless u are contesting it to delay the cap for as long as u can but do it the safest way)
3.+1 fights.
4.Roam.
5.Reset.
(Retreating from a fight that u can lose is better than dying in that fight and leaving your team 4v5)
6.Mind games (self explainatory)
7.Try not to fight in a huge team fight unless u have good position to take someone down with brust and u have nothing else to do atm.

I cant see a good inspiration condi mesmer losing any 1v1s aside from good necro atm or stalling at least… its shatter after shatter after shatter signet repeat f5 moa etc.. it need some toning but this is not the thing that needs balancing the most like cought scrapper * druid * necro *

will u make thief and warrior viable at least to some degree …

I`m at 10 lose streak in ruby if u could only see the matchmaking
just from the last game for expample my team : 2 thiefs warrior necro and normal pewpew ranger – enemy team → ele scrapper necro rev rev.I should probably start getting screenshots at some point for the lols.

The trend i`m noticing is you either stomp the enemy team with 250-300 score difference or more or u get stomped the same way, from all the games i played so far only 2 were interesting and close.

I wont get my hopes high.We all know what will happen since core mechanics will not be changed as far as i can see.If they work only on acro traits its bad they also need to tune some of our utilitys cd`s.Trying to rework acro mean they will have to buff it to a level that we can chose it insted of deadly , trickery or daredevil which i hightly doubt they will do.Hight risk hight reward gameplay i`m all for it but i still think we will just be hight risk class not sure about reward since the cc and sustain other classess have right now are way better then ours.
Wish they will take a look at our low hp pool our lack of stability or resistance.
Autos dmg buff sound ok but dont forget the “LOL” pistol dmg buff and its hidden nerf.
Dont forget that the devs didnt deliver their past promises about the thiefs changes in past blogs so just my 2 cents.

Also in general after the xpac i felt like other classess are overly done in terms of improvements and thief is in kinda ok spot if everything else gets toned down to good and balance level instead of lol dmg number cc`s and sustains.

Happened to me in 4 games in a row i`m matched with guys that lose on purpose and doesnt care about it because they wanna easy progress afrer 10-15 loses…
Arena net pls explain your self why mmr is so broken.

  • Reduced channel time of Channeled Vigor from 2.25 to 0.75 (this can finnaly make me replace withdraw that you as always forgot to buff to that promised 10% heal increase QQ)
  • Fist Flurry: Reduced cast time by 20%. _note: The final strike occurs just prior to 1 second. (kinda wanna make me test physical again but i`m still sceptical about the cast time)
    *
    Evasive Empowerment: This trait has been renamed to Havoc Master and grants the player 7% bonus damage to enemies within the 360 range threshold.(is this permanent or after dodge for period of time?)
  • Bounding Dodger: In addition to granting access to the Bound dodge ability, the thief will gain 10% bonus physical damage for 4 seconds after dodging. ( must be testet will those 4s be enought to land something usefull or it will be better to be changed to next attack deals 10% more dmg which is better i think)
  • Unhindered combatant: In addition to granting the Dash dodge ability, the thief will gain 10% damage reduction against physical and condition damage.( good idea but would those 10% be of any help remains to be seen, i hope you pay attention to the burning stacking meta that ruins most stuff).
  • Receive less damage from weakened foes.( this is what thief really need as reliable defence mechanic outside of dodge itself, but will it give condi dmg reduction too? or just mele.)
    Overall a little bit more possitive about the future of the elite spec, keep up the good work.

Ppl still complain about stealth lel there will be more then enough reveal after xpac and more effective group stealth coming from scrapper.It seems the problem is that you are kinda mad about not being able to kill stealth classess when they try to reset or run away.
I like the “super easy stealth” vs cd argument lmao, pls go play thief vs good player with different classess and come back then i`m sure you will change ur opinion at least for that class that thief has nothing else then stealth atm.

I really hope they change thief core machanic maybe altering the base stats of our class can help with that.I cant see d/p da/sa/tr going away since its still better then DD in almost every way (especially 1v1 d/p will remain superior)
But having in mind how much reveal will be available after x-pac i dont see thief provide much for any group in terms of support, almost every other class can provide something usefull.
I`m playing only thief and i`m kinda sad that probably i will have to change the class soon if the things remain in their current state.As a power thief i feel i`m lacking on almost every aspect (power/sustain).We are still the only class that doesnt have any form of reliable invuln skill, protection or resistance buffs or in general we dont have access to dmg mitigation in the “o …t moment”.
But in the same time i dont wanna be op and ez mode i just wanna be able to compete with the rest classess and do well if played correctly.

tl;dr; we dont do nothing to exclusivly well that others cant do (pls dont bring the stealth thing i would be happy to throw stealth away if they give me good stealthless mechanic that can compete with the rest of the classess.

s/p thief will deliver dmg because you dont evade all the 3 skill s/p sword hits.
On topic i forgot to add all physicals skills in general feels terrible and useless i cant tell how to improve something that just doesnt work with thief.

My feedback after playing for 2 days :
trailine :
evasive empowerment – doesnt feel usefull the duration is to short duration
weakening strikes – ok can be usefull
brawlers tenacity – useless
staffmaster – its staff = (all staff skills feels slow and terrible for me there are some desync issues too , imobilize in mid air while casting 5 = gg cant even come close to s/d or d/p or s/p or p/o)
escapiest absolution – this is good and reliable
impacting distruption – this is also kinda ok
lotus training – no comment on that one
unhindered combatant – this is ok
bounding dodger – i have mixed feelings about this one on paper its ok but in my tests its kinda not very realliable dmg source to waste dodge on it.

Overall : Daredevil feels like improved acro line for s/d s/p users, i like the fact we can stack swiftness and be evasive but the dmg was not there we dont provide anything for groups too and compared to other elite spec or the vanila thief it still feels weak and underperforming.

Conclusion : da/sa/tricekry d/pis still better in almost every way.
I hope they find a balanced way to make us be able to compete against all other classess and specs, i feel like we are at the bottom of the foodchain again since everyone has hight dmg output and much more survivability and utility.
I dont wanna be the res +1 or decap bot in spvp too tnx.

I forgot to add that acrobatics is still useless unless you wanna be that guy that just dodges and does nothing else.

Condi trapper thief wins every time vs any kind of mesmer build, at least i never had problems against any mesmer i met while running the troll trapper build.(pro tip for sad noob trapper thiefs disable auto attacks so you dont get reveal accidently, using torment venoms vs mesmers instead of caltrops trick and having p/d as offhand instead of short bow does the job faster)
The build is not new in any way or form its just more viable after the 23th june patch since we have trap on heal now that we can cancel the healing part and just drop the trap so confusion+2 spike traps + venom and perma stealth = epic rage whispers.

People that never played or have properly understanding of thief mechanicand or builds variants post patch should never come and complain or crying for nerfs to said mechanic, since they cant figure what it requires and how to counter it on their own with any other class.
@Elxdark i`m really loling on ur “I know what I’m saying, I play s/d thief even with the nerf and stuff, I can still eat shatter mesmers like there’s not tomorrow” dude you must fight only really bad noob mesmers,now try to fight mesmers that know what they are actuallys doing and them come and enlight us when he 100-0 you.

What i would love to see is something like this :
1 : shadow refuge giving stability while you are inside it (thief lack any form of stability after patch aside from dagger storm which is meh.. before at least we could get stability when traited with attacking someone from stealth)
2 : reduce dmg while in stealth to be buffed to maybe 35%-40%, that should be enough maybe.(they promised -50% they didnt delivered so we wont take 8k hits while in stealth any more coz screw every class with invulns thats why)
3: a quick fix for the every class does same amout of dmg like thiefs do, some even more , lets just remove the requirement for the backstab to be landed from behind and lets rename it to “shadow stab” or something like that.
4: Let shadow protector trait pulse for 50-70 more hp maybe or 40-60 must be tested.
5: Rethink dagger training and let it be something usefull (5% dmg increase or % critical hit chance on dager skills) now it`s totaly useless and no one will use it over mug)
6:Test changes Test changes Test changes before you ever commit a stupid patch that break stuff(not sure if i troll here).
7: Try balance stuff in WvW too pls kk tnx.
8: Make the d/p quick stealth 5/2 combo require 1 or 2 more init so no one will be able to perma spam it.

Basicly, “obstructed” , “no valid path to target” and “the target is to close” are pretty huge problem along with the attacks that follow you after dodge, scorpion wire being broken since forever and what the guy above said randomly slowing effect /which maybe is not only thief prob/

I would just higher again the revealed debuff only in WvW (up to 7-8 seconds) which would only hurt those who build their char arround stealth mechanism, thus discouraging low risk “high reward” gameplay in those maps.

Ouh look at this clueless guy he wants 8 seconds reaveal debuff, i cant stop laughing.
How about we put 8 seconds cd on every skill use on all other classess k tnx bye.

thief is currently uncounterable unless the thief is a complete moron

sword pistol = blind daze shadowstep spam
use shield against dagger thief and you still get backstabbed as block doesnt make BS go on cooldown
d/p= perma blind and stealth thief basically a one sided battle
why exactly should everyone else run purely defensive builds just to fight thieves instead of thieves being balanced to everyone else’s level

if thieves are so skilled they shouldnt have nothing to worry about on equal playing field

Can you please make a thief go to solo roam in WvW and make a movie how you own different classes played by descent players that know what they are doing then come back here and post again k tnx bye(in b4 a rain of tears).
