My thief is Valkyrie coat with berserk everything else. Every trinket is ascended: Infused berserker rings, soldiers amulet, soldier earrings, and a Valkyrie ascended back piece. I don’t really lose 1 v 1 or 1 v 2 and I’m about 50/50 on 1 v 3’s. Honestly I only have one stealth ability on my bar and it’s blinding powder. Dagger 5, 1, and 2 are pretty much all I use. 4 for 2+ enemies to maintain damage occasionally. Withdrawal is my favorite heal and I like the signet that restores dodges, as well as “haste” on my bar. It’s only negus I have trouble with to be honest. Condis are a kitten. 20 30 0 20 0 is what I run.

IMO, going D/D 0/30/10/30/0 with full zerk and ascended is also viable for PvE. For WvW, I guess S/P is the way to go.

Firstly, I would ask what armor set is the one you are wearing. By the way, have you tried achieving ascended armor, it looks sexy enough (I am a thief too and trying to get ascended).

I would suggest you farming the Citadel of Flame, all 3 paths, to get the Berserker gear ( the first set as sorting position you get at the vendor in LA ), then you can start farming Fractals to get your ascended. Just have a close follow-up for forums to see what builld will suit you better. Definetly, learn the Thief in sPvP!

Yes, I agree to you that an LFG Matching system would really boost the gaming experience, as taking less time finding a party for dungeons. Neverthless, this can also be abusive to some people who are requiring a certain skill level for their mates and frustrating to those who want to learn more about the PvE extent, but yeah it would be great if we have a matching system and the classic way to find players for instances.
You should also take into account that there are tools like gw2lfg.net/com that can help you in this way.

I am not stating that I am a pro, but I can tell you something for sure: Thief is a decent place for PVE, in spite of the haters on the forums. I am playing this class since beta and I’ve seen many meta changes and thorough adjustments for this one. I can start with a whatnot for going PVE: the dual pistols, although I heard that dagger/pistol is viable, but IMO you should go dagger/dagger all the way and pick Shortbow for kitting in the beggining.
You also can have nice burst damage if you go for Condition Damage/Precision build, you get like 6-7k crits with daggers backstab before getting nice exotics, so yeah you can give it a try.

So much lols skimming through this topic. Maybe Arenanet will provide us some nice flamethrowers to make the dailies much more pleasant. Burning them, will finish the daily faster and anyone will do it with much more ease, event the children, so why so serious about this?
