Will any of the new reward tracks award something that levels your masteries or grants you experience?

Does "damage increase" apply to conditions?

If a trait says something like “Damage Increase: 10%” does that apply to condition damage, or only to direct damage?

What's the formula for leaderboard points?

in PvP

cleabh.5308

You are awarded points for playing well, and often, and sometimes even if you lose a game. Even if a comeback may not seem possible, you can still be rewarded for continuing to try your very best. If you find yourself in an uneven match, fear not, you will risk fewer points for losing, and have more points to gain for doing well. Likewise, if you participate in an easy match, don’t think you’re home free. Performing well might award you points, but performing poorly will take even more away.

I remember seeing an actual formula for this, based on the number of relative points of each team. Does anyone know where that is?

Then you have obviously not spent enough time on these forums. People will complain about anything. If they announced that SAB was going to be permanently opened the forums would be full of people complaining that SAB is stupid and detracts from their enjoyment of the game because it doesn’t make sense. There are a whole slew of people who find SAB to be immersion breaking and can’t stand the idea of other people who enjoy it being able to play it.

I’ve heard this several times before, but the number of players who’d be angry about SAB having no new content is a fraction of those upset, right now, that it isn’t here. They certainly wouldn’t boycott the game because of it, which people are already doing because of the broken SAB promises.

If you want proof, compare this thread to the reactions to the repeat Wintersday or Halloween content. All people did was grumble a little about the holidays for a month or so. Whereas this thread has been pure disappointment and even hatred for over a year.

No matter how you look at it, it’s in Arenanet’s best interests to just bring World 1 and 2 back if at all possible.

Because Wintersday and Halloween come back each year? And are only active for a month?

So what you’re saying is that people complain constantly while it is active, then stop complaining when it goes away. Since it comes back again as expected they don’t have a reason to start complaining about that.

Seems like this is more evidence that I’m right than that I’m wrong.

Not really. The bottom line is the reactions to recycled holidays aren’t nearly as bad as how people are feeling in this thread. So bringing back SAB, even worlds 1 and 2, would be to Arenanet’s advantage from a PR standpoint.

It’s weird. Another Tuesday goes by and I’m still surprised at no news. How is this treatment of customers getting a pass in a company that wants people to buy an expansion this year (maybe)?

I would assume most people simply don’t care enough about SAB to let it effect their enjoyment of the game as a whole.

Not to mention the fact that anyone that actually paid any sort of attention were fully aware that it was temporary content and are now fully aware that it will come back but it is extremely unlikely that it will happen before the release of the expansion, due to lack of resources that can work on it.

i would assume we don’t give a kitten about your useless posts
SAB or llama riot

Yeah, seriously. Why does lordkrall even post here?

What’s this thread doing on page two? I’ll fix it.

To all the people saying “spend less gems”. No, if you truly are upset, vote fully with your wallet and close it. If you don’t care, then more power to you.

That’s what I’ve been doing. Since they put the minis in the chests, I haven’t bought any gems at all and I’m not planning to until SAB is back.

But other games have headwear that doesn’t make you into a chemotherapy patient. It’s possible, they’re just too lazy.

Other mmo games with character customization?Example? It’s not that easy to do when your game have tons of hairstyles…part of hair mesh can’t just magically disappear to avoid serious clipping…each hairstyle should be edited to look good with specific hat\helmet.

World of Warcraft, Saints Row, the Bethesda Fallout games. All you have to do is have an inner and outer mesh for long hairstyles and turn off the outer one. This problem was solved a long time ago and I can’t believe Anet hasn’t caught up.

Skyrim\Fallout using one mesh for all types of long hairstyles which looks almost the same…here we have tons of really different and difficult hairstyles…it will work, yes, but it won’t work just as good as in Beth games, will be too obvious that hairstyles are different :\

It worked just fine in GW1 and the beta, and even if it was slightly ill-fitting it would be better than the characters just going bald.

Because the hat counts as a brand new hair and not just an accessory, that is what I think.

So when you put on a hat you are actually changing your character’s hairstyle and the one you are using is replaced with that one with the hat (none = bald)

That’s not a reason, it’s just a way of implementing a decision they made (lazy bald models). There’s plenty of headwear that doesn’t disable (and sometimes clips with) hair.

Well, this topic goes around in circles a bit, so here is some FAQ (or rather a Frequently Posted Interjections).

- Anet needs to focus on HoT content!
No content design is needed, they can just bring back what they already made.

- If they bring back just Worlds 1 and 2, it won’t be enough and people will just complain about world 3 not being released yet.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slippery_slope

- It was too hard and just annoyed players
Tribulation mode was pretty kitten hard, but Infantile Mode just involved running along the rainbow cloud motorway. Normal mode was somewhere in-between.

- World 2 was broken so they can’t bring it back!
World 2 launched with a bunch of bugs which were mostly fixed. Additionally the difficult parts on normal mode (the Geysers in 2-1 and the gong room in 2-2) were both nerfed heavily.

- SAB sucks! Don’t bring it back.
The return of SAB would not inconvenience you in any way, but be great for the people who enjoy it.

- It doesn’t fit the living story!
Haha!

Thank you. I didn’t know some of this.

When a thread on such a thing has 60k+ views and almost 2,000 replies, it should definitely be considered by the devs team imo… Hope they already planned something, but they could communicate a bit about it though.

Based on the datamine, chances are good they do have something planned.

Based on the datamine, it could be coming sometime this month. Yes releasing the minis the day before April Fool’s was incredibly dumb, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt until May.

So all in all it was two things. And none of them even remotely as big (release or reaction-wise) as this.

You asked for examples involving ANet bending to rage. I gave you examples.

But now you’re moving the goalpost, after throwing as many examples into the trash as possible, and basically saying even the last two that you can’t hand wave away don’t count because they’re “not on the same scale”.

I mean, really? What the hell is your deal?

What I do with my money is my business and you want to try to berate me? GTFO

Then what is the problem? 6 dollars is nothing to anyone with a computer. You supported a company that gave you a constant great product with literally no down time for 2+ years.
Yet you complain about something you don’t need, only want. You have so much want for it you lust for it and despise Anet for not giving it to you. How is that not childish?

Everyone talks about the white knights but I always wondered what they looked like.

If they released it right after April Fool’s day, and the airplanes were just a meta-joke with the real April Fool’s being that SAB wouldn’t come back, I’d instantly forgive them.

The reset was almost an hour ago, and this years April Fools have already been released.

Look at server time. The reset happens at 12 a.m.

Didnt really expect it, but the BL chest tease is a mean cash grab if its not out tomorrow.

Agreed. If they do that but don’t open up SAB soon or give me a Continue Coin refund, I’m just going to quit the game.

I just did some testing. For some reason, this issue isn’t as bad for Asura. Their first person camera is about at eyebrow-height, while all the other races have it at the top of their character model (minus hair and headwear.)

Theres an option you can check to have your camera put behind the eyes of your character. Its under the first tab of the option menu.
Check ‘adjust camera to character height’ on.

That’s closer, but unfortunately it still doesn’t put it behind your character’s eyes. I made a thread about this: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/FPV-height-slightly-off/

Might not be a bug.

Every character has a hitbox inside it and the size is the same for all characters. An Asura’s ‘hitbox will be taller than they are and a Norn’s, smaller. OP’s character is probably looking at the top of that female Norn’s ’hitbox, which on her is probably chest high.

Unless they put some sort of marker on the eyes for the other characters to orientate to, this might not be fixable.

Uh no, it’s just centered when you don’t have Adjust to Character Height on.

Now, there are still some issues I found. Like when in First person, i seem to be looking from my “waist”, and not head, so i gotta tilt my camera up.

You can put it on the top of your character’s head by enabling Adjust Camera to Character Height, but there’s no way to put it at eye level. I actually made a thread about this.

When you’ve enabled Adjust Camera to Character Height in first person view, it puts the camera at the crown of your character’s head instead of their eye-level. Of course this isn’t a huge deal, but it would be good for RPers (or anyone who likes immersion) to have the camera at eye-height instead. The eye height is fairly consistent for a given race, so you could say halfway up the head for humans, 1/4th for Asura, and so on.
