Most of the bosses main damage come from the mechanics and imo the first 2 are easy to figure out what to do, 3rd is bit annoying during it’s invuln phases and havent put many pulls i to the last boss yet (darn you RL and job)

It’s horribly explained but when you kill Rigom, he does an explosion. If the explosion hits Samarog then it allows you to deal power damage to Guldhem until Rig heals himself. So you aregonna want to CC Rigmog as close to Saramog as you can (mesmer pulls and gusts as well as imobs) and drop ranged aoes on him (such as staff ele lava fonts and meteor shower. Gives you about 5-10 seconds of beating up Guldhem.
only issue i have with the map is that there seems to be to many mobs in to small of an area, and my biggest complaint…. the white mantle knights that can snipe you with the hammer while your gliding.
I haven’t had problems with this. When you get the beam up you have to circle with the justicar. Swiftness helps. When you run with the justicar, it only takes a few moments to break the shield. I haven’t died here once (props to Marjory) and I’m zerker.
Last boss is a bit harder, since it knocks Marjory off as she tries to res you. lol Same thing though, put the construct between you and the stone and the shield melts quickly.
It’s quite hard to keep at the right position, if you go too far the beam will end, if you go too close you will get knocked out.
The last fight was easier since there is no endless spawning mobs and you only need to do it once. The main problem is that without any hints, it’s impossible to even know how to do the fight.
Didn’t have a problem with positioning myself. I would get knocked around a bit at times, but I thought that my own fault. Although I agree that the mob spawn should be boss % rather than time based. I thought the way to defeat the shield was self-evident after the first two golems.
when i was doing it i thought you just had to run in the shield while having the beam but that’s not the case. i swear there was a mechanic like that somewhere in the game before
Its the same concept as previously…you have to get a connection to the bloodstone and get the boss to stand in the connection for a couple seconds to drop the shield…..
I watched the video, tried and found you must use that Asura skill when you get connected. Or the line would not be long enough.
Seriously, such mechanic should not appear in a single player story content, and you got no repair inside the instance, had to start all over if you exit.
personally the mechanic would have been a whole heck of a lot better if it was easier to figure out, maybe have the NPCs drop hints or flat out tell you to “get her in the magic line”
The fight against the Justiciar is crazy! You have to fight endless spawning enemy and need to discharge the shield or this could go on forever. Seriously WTF is this? Isn’t solo story going to get everyone experience the story?
it’s more that the fight is HORRENDOUSLY explained and the prior experiences with the 2 golems prior expects you to pay absolute attention to how you removed the shield.
while absorbing the bloodstone magic you MUST have the beam passing through the foe, this will deal damage to her shield/breakbar (the next boss also does this as well)
Never mind, the issues resolved themselfs when we left and refreshed the instance.
my guild group has gotten good at taking him down but today we’re having trouble and we have noticed some of the mechanics have been wonking out.
-Fixation change after green circles, they are only suppost to change after you break the boss
-fixation is targeting people constantly across the room resulting in the fixation paths crossing, normally they seem to fixate more likely on people close to the spawn
-the orb retrievers seem to be grabbing the orb from farther away
-orb sometimes only goes half the distance it’s suppost to
-sometimes KC after orb phase spawns where he was last instead of in the center.
Anyone else notice any of these

I doubt legendary armor will let you switch runes, as the weapons don’t let you switch sigils. I agree that it makes the stat switching functionality of questionable value. I don’t think anet needs to change it though, as legendaries are prestige skins anyway.
Armor is a lot more versitile then weapons, most of my characters have multiple sets if armor to change their roles: all of which have different runes: imo runes make a bugger impact towards the role ofthe character then sigils
let’s see what creative raid encounters we can come up with. Be creative in mechanics and such for any raid encounter you’d like to see.
I’ll start
encounter: The Twins (reaper and tempest bosses)
their targeting: Twin1: the one with highest toughness; twin2: fixates random Players
Enrage timer: NONE, enrage occurs when one twin is killed
lose condition: Battle specific item becomes corrupted by corruptive elementals that spawn.
Corruptive elementals vulnerable to condi damage.
The twins dont like being to close to each other and will try to stay away from each other. possibly with some banter with eachother (tempest boss: “ugh, why do you always smell like rotting flesh?”)
Phase1 100-80% HP on each character
Reaper: Traps a random player in an icecage every 45 seconds, CC needed to break out of ice cage
Tempest: Overloads every 20 seconds, CC breaks overload, Fire attunement- spawns a meteor shower every 30 seconds indicated by a red circle on fixated player.
extra: corruptive elemental spawns and moves to special item every 30 seconds
phase 2: 80-60% hp on each
Tempest: Air attunnement, Spawns tornado that move around the arena dealing damage and knocking around players. still overloads every 20s
Reaper: Goes into reaper shroud every 30 seconds, CC to break him out
extra: Corruptive elementals spawn still at 30 seconds,
phase 2: 60-40% hp on each
Tempest: Earth attunement, spawns magnetic storms idicated by several red circles: much like the bounty target Trillia Midwell, reflects projectiles and knock players back: lasts 10 seconds and used every 30 seconds
Reaper: Spawns minions to shield himself from most damage every 30 seconds
extra:
phase 4: 40-20% hp on each
Tempest: Water attunement: Spawns ice Patches every 15 second (like mitthus’ ice patches) and cleans conditions off allies
Reaper: Places a poison time bomb on random player (simular to sloths poison bomb) every time he goes into Reaper shroud, ice cage occurs every 30 seconds.
extra: Corruptive elemental spawns every 20s now
phase 2: 20-0% hp on each
Tempest: Cycles Attunement after every overcharge from fire-air-earth-water. all special attacks come 10 seconds into the attunement swap, overload still every 20 seconds
Reaper: Transform into lich form, still uses reaper shroud but goes back to lich afterwards. reaper form now 20 seconds.
extra: 2 Corruptive elementals spawn every 20s now
felt like the enrage timers gave a reason to push DPS, where i want this to be smart about the DPS
Hopefully Anet lets us know near the release of wing 3
my prediction, forsaken thicket is a prequel to season 3, the white mantle will attack tarir in an attempt to steal glints egg. what better vengeance for Lazarus to have on glint for the flame seeker prophecies then to try to corrupt her legacy.
the raid is just to bring the white mantle back into relevancy and to show they are still around being jerks.
if Lazarus is killed in the raid then yeah, gw1 peeps will be kittened; but if he is just there to taunt you and runs away, then the plot point is still open.
Will we possibly get legendary runes to mix match set bonuses? or will we still have to use superior runes?
just thinking legendary runes would be something to increase flexibility for changing builds (such as changing from zerk DPS to team tank for raids)

any information on how to get on the list for the closed beta? and if you make a Revanent character there can you transfer them to live once the game launches or will you have to reset?
agree with you here OP. only problem i have with the map is the lack of waypoints since if you die at blue or amber you got to literally run across the entire map to get back.
other then that everything else is excellent, wish orr was like this.
I very much doubt that it’s Logan. He’s just not the kind of guy to have extensive information networks and operate clandestinely. Besides, if your character is human, he’s already on a first name basis with you. Why would he bother concealing his identity with the player?
he’s pretty much on a first name basis with all PC at this point (except those players who havent finished the Personal story yet)
though sometime tells me it may have something to do with the zepherite leader: who we saw wander off near the end of the first episode of this living story: seemed to know more then he was letting on.

marionette was my fav “raid” level world boss: clearly all the effort went into it when compaired to the wurm that came out the same update. wish marionette was the permanent boss.
the tail of charr clip through the magic carpet: only thing i have to complain about.

i do like the laurel idea: though 1000 laurels seems to insane of cost
doing math 12×10 (monthlys)= 120 laurels +365 if you do daily every day and that 485 per year… over 2 years of work(estimating 2 years 30 days if monthly is not done). game hasnt been out for 2 years yet: i could see 150-200 lauruls being a lot better. even at 150 each it still requires dedication for not just spending them on other things that would benifit you, like buying bags of t6 mats to sell for money, or ascended trinkets or recipies for ascended armor/weapons or even the laurel MF booster.
everytime i hear it i cringe a bit. i think prolonged exposure would end up making my ears bleed or something

hope he becomes an important ally in LS2: considering mordemoth uses plants and from the southsun story line we know canach has vast knowledge of plants, seems like it would make sence that he’d help fight back the dragon

Because in mine, I’m the one that sun dashed, lightning leapt, and wind jumped to the Inquest dampening devices to make it so that the lazy ladies could just portal across.
Pretty sure it wasn’t super-powered NPCs that saved the day there!
dont forget finding that rare lightning crystal to hop across that chasm while jory was mouthing off instead of making that bone bridge

wouldnt be much of a living story if zones didnt change at all. as pretty as the zones are, they get boring being the same all the time
as for the upcoming zones: dragon corruption IS happening and it does make sense with whats happening. dragons corrupt, end of story: dont see anyone complaining about splintered coast after teq won (cept the complaining about why they lost) or the areas corrupted by jormag.

i would assume if you have the meta achieve for the season 1 release you’d get it for free
they would also have to scale down the events to make em manageable for groups of 1-5 (assuming you can take friends into them)
honestly i think rox/braham relationship is much more developed then jory/kesmer (which i feel was completely rushed/forced)
since it looks like you can replay the release episode, i hope they implement this for personal story also
i’d like to be able to go back and relive my story
hopefully when season one is updated to work with the journal
i hope everyone with the meta achieves unlock each chapter

Arah is an end game dungeon, the bosses should be challenging.
like i said: what is to easy for you might not be to others
-whip for ranger, elementalist, mesmer, thief
-lance for heavies, ranger, mesmer, engie(maybe)
-2h axe for heavies, necromancer(maybe, depends if scythes are counted as 2h axes or other)
-UNARMED (fists and feet and maybe teeth) for everyone
-Chakrams for elementalist necromancer guardan mesmer and thief (maybe)
I play from europe on NA with lag and dealt with Alphard just fine. Soloing on warrior was stressful for me though so I preferred to solo on mes.
Just now I soloed on warrior up to alphard, was too lazy to sell and just offered it up on lfg. I literally made no effort to not get pulled and just happily walked out, avoiding the bomb damage.
The fight is a complete joke and ANet need to “bug” it again.

but my point was “what about the people who are more casual” as i said theres a lot of skill levels in a mmo. not everyone can be super skilled and that jazz: anet is looking out for what i’d assume is the majority of players by making it more accessible

the problem with difficualty scaling in a mmo is the huge ammount of players: so much different skill levels they have to take into consideration to make content available to as many players as possible.
and tbh: i dont find content that instantly punishes you for any error (yours or connectivity or massive FPS drop) with a 1 shot nuke to be any good. if you get nuked it better be ur own fault not some bad mechanic.

Such challenging content with such high risk.

i’m really happy the insta-gib is gone, makes him(her? it?) actually enjoyable again for the (i would assume) MAJORITY of players.
i swear every time im trying to do my fire field combo as an ele (after combat initiated), most of the time other fields take the blast instead?
feels like fire field priority was dropped, anyone else feel this way
