I don’t see the issue with freeing up a few slots in inventory. We already get to deposite collectables from anywhere in the world.
There was a forum post during the beta that brought up a good idea, but I’m not sure how much attention it got. Here is the gist of that post.
We would have some number of (lets go with four for this example) save slots for weapon sets. Each set allows for two weapon combinations (E.G. a weapon set consists of the main weapon such as a great sword, and the swap slot, like a mace and shield) The idea is that weapon swapping is not changed at all. It remains exactly how it is. The only thing weapon sets do is allow you to easy equip a new pair of weapons and off hands. While in combat, the easy switching is locked, so you cannot change your sets; however, you will still be able to swap between the two weapons in your current set.
The whole point of the set switching is that it doesn’t change the game at all, it just adds a convenient UI element that reduces the amount of time a player spends looking through their bags.
I hope this gets some attention because sometimes it takes a lot of sifting through items I’ve picked up while out doing events in order to find a specific weapon. This is especially difficult when all the swords in my inventory have the exact same icon!
The biggest problem with Hammer has always been the lack of synergy between its skills.
While the individual skills are very powerful at what they do they just don’t work that well together. If I launch a target I can no longer hit it, if I immobilize a distant target that’s also of little use for me. These types of skills would better fit on a ranged weapon.
Of course I can imagine having an organized dungeon or PvP team making good use out of each of the hammer skills, but the lack of synergy in of itself isn’t good for solo or chaos (open word pve, wvw).
I agree, it would be great if the chain either pulled the first target it hits to you, pull you to it, or makes you run faster if it hits an enemy. Something that lets you get in close faster. I think banish should stay where it is at, its perfect if you need to take a quick breather and let some regen do a little work. Plus, its an interrupt.
Then again, maybe focus should get banish and the hammer could get the shield.

Upgrading a processor is the most expensive change you can make to your computer, since it involves not only spending money on a newer, more expensive CPU but also upgrading the motherboard (because chances are a new processor wont fit into the socket of an older motherboard). If it can be avoided at all, then just get RAM. Upgrading from 2 gigs to 4 gigs of RAM will increase framerate, as will upgrading the graphics card.
However, if you’re processor isn’t a quad core, you can pretty much kiss 60fps goodbye. Heres a helpful article on performance of GW2 on several systems.

There are hours upon hours of video content from the game’s beta posted on youtube. Tons of players have been showing off this game since closed beta well over a year ago. Quest hearts are meant to be done in order. Its easy to tell where you should be by mousing over quest hearts in the map (red is higher level than you, white is your level) Everything else falls into place after that. The whole point of the game is discovery and experimentation.

The way I kill: I lure some monsters and pull them all towards me, I pop my Symbol of Wrath and Purging Flames to put them all on fire, then a Leap Of Faith so I get a flame around me which burns nearby enemies(remember I have the trait which gives me 10% extra damage vs burning foes) then a Whirling Wrath and finish them off with auto attack so my skills have no cooldown for the next group.
Every 5th attack burns a foe also thanks to the virtue, so the 10% extra damage vs burning foes from the trait is really nice in my opinion!Hope you may get something out of this. ^^
Looks good, as far as gear goes, try stacking up condition damage. As stated, you’ll want to leap and whirl every time you drop down purging flames to keep burning going. Definitely focus on vitality, power, and condition damage. (especially since you will have a trait that increases damage done to burning foes)
Raw materials tend to sell better than crafted gear in pretty much every craft right now. In Cooking, you can try selling dyes, but that only becomes profitable at higher levels of craft
Exactly, most people are still leveling up their crafting skills so they are buying up mats like crazy.
Here’s a question for someone who might know: what GW2 profession is most like WoW’s warlock in terms of gameplay?
Tough because the GW2 professions are all pretty unique (except for the warrior). Even necromancers can fulfill a support roll by giving regen to allies and removing their conditions. What did you like most about the warlock?
Yes, I checked the wiki and it states that pet’s stats are based off that of the player. You can check out the wiki to do a little theory crafting if it pleases you, but it looks like birds are focused mainly around precision (which means they are critical hitters). Maybe instead of condition damage you would want to stack up precision and crit damage?
Hm now that I think about it I just assumed traits affected pets too… I’ll look into it.
I’m a big fan of conditions so here’s what I might do when I start playing ranger.
Between you and your pet I think you can stack bleed pretty high. Also, if you roll with a short bow as your secondary you can open with crossfire and poison volley then swap to great sword and use swoop then maul. If you have an eagle or hawk they have a bleed move with a 6 second cool down.
You’ll want to add a little toughness to keep you and your pet alive. This is just one approach though, maybe you like more direct damage abilities.
that dont .say nothing…there no pve end game on this game atm…only the events…but that dosent hlp u im reffering to pve like End game Raids that u do with hard work and with your guild and need tactics…..10man + Raids …and more dungeons thta u get GER and set items….not events..that u dont get nothing special
That says everything. I don’t doubt that there will be more PVE added in patches or whatever else but atm you have dungeons with different modes, dynamic events, and zone scaling.
Unless they implement a trade system like in WoW where you provide the materials and someone crafts the weapon/armor in the trade window. I’m not sure if that will be the case. Hopefully something like that will be implemented since 200+ hours to level weaponsmithing and gather the materials is… tedious.

Due to downscaling (probably the best idea in an MMO ever – GJ ANet!) Endgame could be playing lower level dungeons as well as level 80 zones. GW1 had a similar system, although not as refined. Its really going to depend on what you do at 80.
Seems like you enjoy playing classes that deal damage. I suppose the next question to ask is… do you like being up close and personal (i.e. playing thief with daggars?) Or standing back and blowing people up?
I had the same issue. The way I understand it, you can only “see” people who are on the same server. I believe there are quite a few overflow servers (correct me if I am wrong). Essentially, you can be in the exact same place as your friend and wont see them unless they are in your same server (whether or not you are in a party with them).
The second I travelled from the overflow to the regional server, my friend was able to see me and we were able to join the same events, etc. They way the system works at the moment, you really just need to wait until you work your way to the front of the queue before you can group up, unless you get lucky and join the same overflow.
Edit:
If you end up on different overflows you can right-click on eachother’s portraits in the group and chose the “join in [zone name]” option. As far as I know it will try to keep the groups together on the same overflow though.
