Server: Stormbluff Isle
Roleplay, PVP, PVE, and dungeon stuff, say hi if you see me!
Here to help!
This occurs because of how instancing works in the game. Since at launch instances were never meant to host more than 5 players, they needed to work into the system a way to create an instanced area that COULD host more than 5 players without taking up too much space on the servers.
To do this, once more than 5 players enter a guild hall, a new instance opens that has more open slots to host more players, this is why it shifts you. For bigger guilds, this can even happen again at either 20-50 members all being in the same guild hall at once (my guild never has this many players on to test this, but I do believe it is 20!). Once the BIGGER instance opens, the smaller one closes, instead of having max size instances all open at all times. It reduces server load as once the number drops down below 3 players in the instance, it reopens the smaller one to move you all back there.
It IS a matter of optimization, not a bug. It’s just something that will have to be dealt with until they either rework instancing ENTIRELY or find a way to make instances dynamic without too much work. But again, that may require the servers to hold too much empty information at once.
I hope this helps!
It was a joke.. Chill a little.
When can I pull a colourblind mode from these Black Lion chest things?
That’s what I was thinking, more choices in fashion without having to make more characters to have the designs. Especially where, in roleplay, medium and heavy armours do not look like casual clothes. Well, some may, but many do not.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/An-Outfit-Idea/
I made my own post, but this seems to belong here.
So, I’m going to try and explain this well enough that it makes sense. So here it is:
Not an outfit, but an outfit template that lets you pick and choose armour skins from one weight class and save it as an outfit for use on other characters. Now, I’m not sure how in depth this would be, as it was just an idea, but it would (somewhat) allow players to say, wear a medium armoured look on a heavy class, as an example.
“But daemonis, that would be visually unfair in fights!”
Nonsense, outfits as they are already negate this point. I know armour was originally designed this way, but with the release of heavy looking, medium looking, and light looking outfits, it makes this a non-issue.
The dyes are the only thing that may be a real problem, as most pieces of armour don’t have four dye channels. So I was thinking, before a template is saves, dye each piece before it’s saved, and then after that you can’t dye it like you normally would in the outfit panel of the hero menu.
Whether or not the template would be editable would be up to the devs, whichever may be easier. But it would be nice if they were editable.
I was also thinking, if not editable, you can buy up to three slots so that you could make one of each weight class, I don’t know. It could be more.
But yes, this is the whole idea, as incomplete or complete as it may seem, I thought it would be something pretty neat that I’d definitely pay money for.
And if ascended gear isn’t possible, make some of the weapon stuff to make it tradeable at that high a friend level, out of convenience and such.
Like, anything account bound at a friend level high enough, maybe at like, 6 make it little things, 8 make it boosters and some bigger things, and then at 10 make it ascended gear and ticket scraps and such? Like make it progressive in what you can trade between friends so it isn’t just like “Ugh, when am I gonna get to 10 already GOSH”
I was thinking the other day, since this is a very social game, of implementing something like “friend levels” between people based on how much they party/do together. Make it like a 1-10 level system and based on levels between people certain perks can be unlocked. Like at level 5 instead of needing the teleport to friend stone, you can teleport to them like once every x minutes. Then at the highest level let the two who have, let’s say level 10 “friend level”, be able to trade account bound things between eachother, like ascended stuff. It would encourage people to play with eachother and it would make being in a guild feel more like the guild can help you more so than just being in the guild, maybe doing stuff every so often, and getting nothing but personal chest and item drops. I feel like it would encourage people to make new friends while also giving people who play together a lot be able to help their friend with gearing their toon to the max. Especially with the upcoming raids being focused around ascended armour I feel like it would be just a cool little thing for people to do as well as bring people together a little bit more. It would also be a little easier to track RMT since people who play together a lot since they sometimes get caught by the RMT catcher system. You’d just check their friend level and you could see that it was between friends and not a gold seller. I don’t know, just a cool little thought, as well as something I saw in Tera that was really cool.
Race: Asura
Sex: Female
Profession: All (outfit)
Outfit: Wedding dress
The wedding dress asura female hat clips with my forehead.
This also happens if you take more than a certain amount of their HP away, kind of like an “Oh crud I’m dying I’m gonna run” AI mechanic.
I’ve had this happen to me, one day I got really mad at my guardian in a jumping puzzle (she is norn, level 46 at the time) and I deleted her out of rage. I came back in on my elesura and did the jp, got loot, was happy. As I was logging off I crashed and thought nothing of it. Came back the next day, my guardian was back, and my elesura had none of the jumping puzzle loot. Happy now though, my guardian is a happy level 80, back from the depths of the recycle bin.
It isn’t a rounding error, you are “saving” gold buy getting more gems at a time than only a few at a time. It’s like they are giving you a free coupon, but not telling you.
never knew this was a bug, bumping for a fix pleeaaaaase
I like Mai Trin, she makes people actually have to think. Plus, I think its fun running aroung dodging the cannons while we playfully tease other guild members who got unlucky to be downed. We just res them after. No big deal. Also depends on the level of the fractal, I suppose.
do you have anyexternal software injected into your game, like sweetfx or anything like?
This had me confused at first too, I knewthe pigeon always flew my stuff off to the tp somewhere, but one day I randomly started seeing gifts go flying off to no where.
I think it’s kinda cute actually
Tested, only happens if you have the repeat function on the auto (aka ctrl mouse-2)
Another bug: engis can place turrets under the skyhammer B platform and they are untouchable
This bug actually happened to me after doing karka queen, waaaaaay before this Winterday though. the Southsun music was still playing when I went to wvw and slowly my frames went from about 30 to 5 and I didn’t know why. so I closed the game but instead it crashed, and by crashed I mean my whole computer went down with it!
Was the only time it ever happened though, never again since.
Not so much a topic, more-so a consensus of talking in game with people, I feel that a new dungeon would fit pretty well in with this new story chapter. That being Glints lair. Glints Lair seems a perfect spot to grow on and possibly even make a new dungeon about, possible going into more detail on what happened to Glint for those who didn;t play Guild Wars 1. Al in all though, this chapter of the story plus the new zone are amazing! Hope to see someof these tower defense and pack bull (dolyak) defense get implemented into wvw, as to getting rewarded for defending and not only taking.
Same with some of the events in Orr, such as the temples, getting rewarded for defending would decrease some of the negative attitudes of people who want to farm over those who just want to play the game. These new areas (Dry Top, Silverwastes) actually congratulate you doing any and all events while areas like Coiled watch and most of Orr only reward the people who are there to farm and know that if you fail the defense there is going to be better loot, which creates problems for those who want to defend and lets say finish their story or get a trait.
Just some Ideas though, that came up when starting to play the new maps and such.
I know this was happening to a great number of people a few days ago but this is just getting ridiculous. I can’t even look at the gem store and this has been going on for 3 days now, is there any way to fix this problem? I want to get into the gem store.
I think he is talking about like something Archeage has, like in-game relationship making (getting married to another character in the game). I think it’s interesting, would be cool to see how roleplaying would go with this if it were ever added, or even talked about in a CDI or something.
Two characters acting as if they are married doesn’t need some ingame function. Do you really need a UI notice that you are married to someone?
Just clarifying what he was talking about, as most people were thinking a legit e-relationship was what he was trying to jump into, not an in-game funtion idea that OP was talking about.

Since it wasn’t in the patch notes I would presume it is a bug.
People in WvW are saying it was intented to be this way, so I’m just going by word-of-mouth. Other than that, if it is a bug, it needs to be corrected quickly or you will have a lot of people getting fed up with people abusing it and not wanting to play anymore. (speaking more for WvW, which does make up roughly a little more than 1/3rd the game)
None-the-less, again, if it is a bug I hope it gets fixed rather quickly, because combat shouldn’t be extremely easy to break.
So with todays patch, ANet released a feature that allows you to CHANGE SKILLS in COMBAT.
First of all, if we are allowed to do this what is the point of having a ten max skill bar?
Second, it makes it difficult to discern between in-combat and out-of-combat.
Third, apparently this patch made it extremely difficult to keep adrenaline, because mid fight you break combat and lose it all, basically making warrior not be able to do anything.
In my opinion, this wasn’t a good add to the game as people do macro key combos, so it is extremely easy just to press one button and adjust yourself to counter exactly what’s going on in the fight, even after you’ve entered the fight. This change does not encourage people to try new builds, or make any new builds, because they can basically just change their stuff whenever it suits them no matter what is going on.
In short, you shouldn’t try to “fix” what wasn’t broken in the first place. This change makes the ten max skill bar a useless thing.
Hey, if you are gonna take away the mesmers ability to decoy while revealed why not take away the rangers camoflauge if they are revealed as well, hmmm?
I have an idea.
Arena Net should make a vendor that you can give ascended materials to in exchange for an amount of another one.
Something like this:
10 Empyrial shards = 1 dragonite ore and vice versa
5 bloodstone dust = 1 dragonite ore and vice versa
I think this would help a lot of people whose banks are overflowing with a certain ascended material.
It’s misleading to say you can get to r500 “without spending anything” — using stored mats is spending, since (a) you can convert those mats into gold and (b) you’d lose the ability to use those mats for anything else (such as creating a legendary or ascended gear).
not really. I think one of the poster mentioned already, he just craft destroyer weapon and level to 500 without spending anything. Obviously it take month for him to lvl to 500 since it take very long time to sell. I’m not sure if it is still viable now.
I’m not sure how much the market have change, but some of the items have really small gap between material cost and sale value, for example soldier item usually sell for lesser lost because it is more popular.
Obviously the market might change now, but all I’m saying is the crafting cost value for gw2crafts isn’t entirely accurate. Because they never taken account that some items are good to craft that you can recoup a huge percent of your crafting material cost.
The goal of the OP is to level quickly without map completion, EotM, or other types of traditional method. Are you saying that can be done without spending a lot of coin, a lot of mats (that could be converted into coin), or a lot of time?
You, I like how you think.
If you like pvp you can get tons of level up scrolls there.
I pvp like every day so getting atleast one level up scroll a day there.
I had characters lv80 who have never been further than their starter zone.
Now i keep getting more level up scrolls while i have no use for them anymore…
Keywords, “If you like pvp…”
rly? instant lvl 80?
why you guyz than even play this game?
It’s just an idea, it won’t stop people from leveling the normal way if they really, truly want to. This would just be an alternative. And as stated in the thread, there seems to be a mutual agreement that if said item ever were to come out, there would be certain restrictions to using it (hopefully).

You can already level up with crafting… So I think having a lvl80 scroll wont’ really affect anything. Anet should consider adding it to the gem store.
Maybe for like 1600 gem or so.
20$ for a level 80 scroll doesn’t seem too bad, I’d buy it.
what about lv60 scroll?
or must be lv40 before you can boost to 80?
(I know the code for lv30,-60scrolls are in game! …(at least the hex code is.))
Just anything to speed it up a little XD ….. and no, leveling through crafting isn’t the answer either…because leveling craft is soooooooooo annoying, I don’t know how people do them more than once.
(I already had to repeat 2 due to deleting a char and I regret deleting the char =.=’ ..).They could make it a gold sink though.
Someone else suggested a “training” option.
Like pay up “x” amount, and ..lets say get a “training” option in the story journal? and when you complete the training instances you boost to 80?. I’m not sure what could be considered a speedy training, ..various battles I suppose, maybe keeping some npc’s alive or something. idk ..I’m not creative enough XD.
But I think this would solve the argument of “need to learn your class”. They’d have to make something like it only unlocks for one use, or maybe charge IN the instance to “participate” in the training.
idk … it’d be great to speed up leveling.they could require you have 2 or 3 level80’s before you get access to the training instance. and inside it costs..idk..150g? 100g from 2-40? + 100g from 40-80? maybe, idk XD
I like the ideas you mentioned in your post. More specifically make it so you have to be level 40 before you can boost yourself to level 80. Mostly because by level 40 I feel like you have a feel for how your character works and the mechanics of the class.
The “training” option wasn’t a bad idea either, they should do something like this.

I’d just though it would be a cool idea, but I see the point you make. Although if people really were interested in learning their character they wouldn’t just EoTM for the levels. Again, after doing it 3 times you kind of just want to be at level 80 without the fuss, and then go learn your character’s class in PvP. Even if it isn’t the build, more so the playstyle of the class.

Why doesn’t ANet put a level 80 scroll in the gem store? I understand that they want people to level but after leveling 3 characters to 80 it becoms a bit of an annoyance rather than something fun.
I was thinking of it this way, put a level 80 scroll in the gem store that can only be bought after you have successfully leveled one character to 80, to stop new people from skipping the leveling process (because I’ll have to admit the first time around leveling is fun to do).
Doing this would also increase the amount of people buying character slots, since getting to level 80 wouldn’t be much of a chore, and it would also most likely increase gem sales, as gear in-game is expensive and most people don’t like farming.
It’s only an idea, but it seems like it would boost gem store profits greatly, since the amount of effort it takes to make is just changing the level 20 scroll to a level 80. The item is practically already made.
