Will the next expansion be discounted?

I agree that somebody that has all the content up to this point should not pay the same price as someone who is just buying the game. That seems very unfair.

I was aware there where multiple areas I could go to..and thanks everybody for the input. This is what I am doing now. Doing another map that is level 45 to 55. I was just kind of commenting that there did not seem to be enough XP in the map I was in Blazefire I think it is named and I was falling behind just running from event ( orange hearts ) to event. The only time I would do other events is if they generated near the path I was taking. So I probably missed several. I am now level 51 and finished my story quests and about half way through both maps. So that does seem like a good way to proceed from now on.

Not really a complaint..Just an observation…

Fancy pants the problem is not difficulty in finding content. Its just that I don’t like to repeat things I have already done. So if you do everything once and once only I am not finding enough content going through maps in order. I finally went to another same level area and started doing the content there to get enough XP.

Content is kind of casual

I lose only a sliver of health fighting anything my own level. It takes at least 3 enemies of 3-4 levels above me to beat me. I am a Guardian which makes me very tanky however. I still enjoy the game however. I hear The expansion is harder so I am looking forward to that.

Maybe I am not taking it slow enough I guess. I am only doing things that are there when I come to them plus getting map completion and then proceeding to the next higher level map. Thanks for the advice everybody.

Seems like there is not enough XP available even if you complete an area. All areas that I have been through thus far I have completed the maps. I am presently level 48 and I am to level 54 content. Starting to get a little more difficult than it needs to be. Although still doable. Seems like there is only 1 event at each level. Not enough to progress.

That I received for buying the expansion. My character is only level 45. I would miss a lot of content. Sure is tempting however. Has anybody done this and bypassed a lot of the game content. Leveling however is not very fast. I only progress a couple of levels a day.

I am thinking of buying the HOT expansion. Is the game still fairly busy..or am I going to be running around doing most events by myself..

Am I running GW2 in 64 or 32?

This is very common. Very few games have a 64 bit executable. I cannot think of any to tell you the truth.

32 bit & 64 bit both run on a 64 bit processor..but only 32 bit runs on a 32 bit processor. So it only makes sense to develop the game as a 32 bit executable.

Womp…Move your game to a different HD if you have one available and see if your issue is resolved. FCV seems to have resolved the problem in this manner.

You must have a 64 bit processor to run WIndows 64 bit. SO even though this might solve the problem..It will not solve many peoples problem. Before trying to install 64 bit WIndows verify your processor is capable of running it.

This is a Windows error. Make sure you have installed all Windows updates. Also scan for malware.

It says “Crash” then a lot of information about my system. Is there something I should look for in particular?

Not that I know of …to tell you the tuth. That info would however be useful for ANet to determine what is causing your crash.

Not when the artifacts carry over to other applications..That indicates the video card.. Especially since you have made no changes and the problem suddenly appeared.
What other games have you played since GW2 started crashing. Maybe you should test some games that are fairly GPU intensive.
I could be wrong about it. But it has been my experience that screen artifacts are a symtom of a failing GPU.

If you are getting graphics artifacts and lines actoss your video, it sounds like a hardware failure. This would also cause the game to crash.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your GPU is probably dying.

There are also 1000s of people with that video card that are not having issues. Your graphics card has no access, and absolutelly no way to corrupt files on your computer.
Also it might not be the same issue Nickah..does your game say it has a corrupted file when it crashes.

Sounds like an overheating issue. Is your graphics card adequatelly cooled.

A corrupted file issue ..I do not think would be related to the GPU. This has to be a hard drive or Network issue. Try installing it on a different HD if possible.

Some system info:
OS: Windows 7 Professional SP1
CPU: Intel i5 3570K
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti
Graphic driver: 306.02 Certified (only for 660 Ti)

GW2 graphic settings: All set to maximum value apart from “render sample: native”, “shadows: high”, “LOD distance: high”. V-sync enabled.
Nvidia 3D Settings: All set to maximum quality, “application-controlled” where possible.

Ok, let’s come to the issue.
After installing latest drivers I solved many problems caused be render sampling setted to “native” (transparent objects and FPS drops).
But now a new problem has come. If I open the World Map and zoom in or out, my FPS drops to around 3 and it becomes impossible to use. FPS drop only when zooming the map or moving it fast. When I stop moving or zooming, FPS go back to 60 (note: V-sync enabled).

Screenshots:
First: GW2 settings
Second and third: Nvidia settings
Fourth: FPS on World Map while standing still
Fifith: FPS on World Map while zooming in/out

Side note: After re-installing GW2 and Nvidia drivers the “map problem” didn’t appear BUT it happened after today’s update. I also defragmented the partition where GW2 is installed. Now I’m wondering if any update or any defragmentation may cause this issue.

EDIT: Added DxDiag report.

I had this problem to..The FPS drop while using the map made it unusable ( zooming the map ). I was also using the 306.02 NVidia drivers. I installed the 304.79 beta drivers, and the problem completelly dissapeared. There is no FPS drop when zooming the map. Also the FPS in game appears to be pretty much the same.

If you want to be sure you are getting the same perfomance or better. Find a good spot. Record your FPS in a couple of directions. Then change your drivers and compare.

Anybody who is having this problem…. its the 306.02 drivers causing it.
