Just wanted to start a little collection/discussion topic of SPVP-Builds.
That’s the build I am testing atm:
Feels pretty tanky with around +3k toughness + max 18 seconds of protection and high lf gain. Still does huge dmg with crit > 50% , 1k bruning (ideal) in RS, chilling nova and so on.
+ stunbreakers
+ high boon remove on enemy
+ condi remove
+ vuln. stacking in RS , WoS, Fokus / (also increases crit-chance)

Because everyone and there mother has them for the lolzimanageldemon look how cool I am for looking like everyone else. And they don’t flap and look stupid not to mention they are gemstore skins
Couldn’t stop to think about this video ^^
They should just change it back and add a big popup like this:
“You are about to exchange X Gold for Y Gems.”
“Please Type in this confirmation-code : 5234 ____”
This should be enough to prevent too many support tickets regarding accidental inputs.
The current System is just a step backwards in flexibility.
Same here with the stuttering after the patch. FPS are constant 60-70 but there is still this strange stuttering every second when i walk around. Before the patch it felt pretty smoothe, even in zerg event situations with something like 30 fps.
But at least it feels like they improved the skill-lag issue with this patch.
I would really laugh my kitten off if they actually did this.
Newsflash: That’s actually what they did – for real.

Lol that is really a shame. Maybe on next feature pack they will announce automatic fighting from lvl 1-10 with a voice over tutorial beacause ppl could be scared of pressing wrong buttons.
tbh maybe as a new player you have already read about gw2 and its gameplay before and there are some things you are exited about. And everything you get when you start the game is. Yeah…. beacause you are maybe too stupid to understand these things you have to reach lvl xx first. And also hiding elements behind some lvl just to let them pop out of nowhere won’t help any person who may really got some problems to understand some of them.

Yep looks like someone made some bad decisions for this part of the feature pack. On one side they want the players to enjoy the time in the low levels with exploring the content, but on the other side many players will now rush it more then ever so they don’t feel restrictet in the game mechanics anymore.
And in my opinion totally new players to this genre will just feel lost at the beginning, because there is no guideline through the world anymore until they reach lvl 10.

I don’t even know why they did lvl 1-80 with poor downscaling for GW2 when the plan was their “every pve content is endcontend” idea. They will never be able to balance the downscaling perfectly. They should have used the GW1 System to get this, because it already offered such an experience. Factions for example. You had your tutorial island (already hitting max lvl there) and after this the whole world was designed for max lvl. So basically you had the whole pve content as some kind of challengeing endcontent (later + hardmode). One design no downscaling problems.

I did not find any of them difficult to understand at all. Downed state was only completely new system and that I figured out by reading the skill tooltips when I first time got into that state.
I think the problem is that it is getting more and more common that people simply do not read. They do not read the tooltips, quest infos, helps or pretty much anything.
I’ve seen so many times someone asking for something really silly like “How do I use this?” when the only line in the tooltip is “Double-click to open.”
No, I never found it hard or confusing being a noob. Some parts of the story I found a little challenging, though that’s not a bad thing. The biggest problem was constantly being under-leveled for content, YOUR OWN STORY above all. If you’re brand new you might not know you can travel to other starter zones. But really, why should you have to?
If we’re talking about understanding concepts like traits and downed state? Of course not. I had never experienced a downed state in a game before, but it seemed self explanatory enough. “Oh darn, I died. But wait, I’m still moving, and I have a few buttons I can press. Let’s see what happens”. There, done. Doesn’t take more than the first time going down to figure that out. It also is obvious enough when you have pending skill or trait points to spend. Click on the notification icon, look at what the traits say and spend points as desired. There is absolutely nothing difficult about that.
With world exploration it could sometimes be difficult to find things, but then ..that’s where EXPLORING comes into play is it not? This business about making things even more easy and dumbed down ..ugh. I mean I don’t totally hate the idea. It will be fine I’m sure. But to say this was important and needed, especially more than so many other things? No, ..just, no.
^this. Trait system and downed state are already easy enough to understand just by reading tooltips or try and error. I don’t think that this is the biggest problem for someone who is new to the game.
