Give Mesmer dual pistols like I thought the class was going to have when the game first came out.

Run something with condo removal or taunt. Thieves like that general doesn’t survive in open combat when their stealth is broken and they rely primarily on their condi for dps.

I’ve been checking. I haven’t found a single miniature.

I had a couple of miniatures before I left gw2 (about a year ago). I’ve come back and I see they’re missing. Makes me sad because I had a mini-hippo and another one I was proud of (looked like a little lady shadow. Could only get it from defeating her in the Queen’s gauntlet).

Am I just SOL?

Thief for the stealth lulz.

The Ggroups I run with do static+blast finisher or do AoE Swiftness-es. If you don’t want to shelve the Mesmer, you’re going to have to bite the bullet on not wanting to exchange runes.

As for Mesmers needing speed: no. I don’t think my little Sylvari having a speed boost is op, but I think of it as another useless utility/trait that I don’t need/want. I’d be in favor of having a blast finisher (just cus chaos needs some love’n).

So, I made a warrior QQ pretty hard in spvp (Wasn’t even my fault. She got ganked by a rogue), and she said to me that she couldn’t wait for the nerf coming our way. Please say it ain’t so! I don’t think my little butterfly soul can handle another hit.

Focused traits around interrupts, manipulation, and range of pistol skills; however, other variations with the traits could include pooping clones out for invulnerable shatter and crippling opponents when clones are killed. (I switched back and forth a lot)

Utilities were Blink and the mantras for interrupting and condition removal.
Elite skill was Time Warp.

This isn’t a feedback required fight. You can dodge the grasping hands by taking two-three steps right then one step left (for example). Orb cannot be smacked by the scepter or pistol, so it’s best to keep your sword ready for most of the fight. One nice thing about the GS is, when you’ve kited one clone into the whirlpool but have several other following behind it, you can use the knock back to grab your crystal and run.

When phase two hits, summon the zerker and interrupt her spin. If traits are based around interrupts she’ll be immobilized (and crippled) for a short period, giving you time get your barrings. If her AoE doesn’t kill your zerker/pistol phantom right away, she’ll possibly focus her whip on the poor thing, giving you time to pewpew. Just keep cripple up on her, and interrupt, dodge, blink, cleanse when you need to.

IMPORTANT: Do not rush this fight. Focus on the execution of skills.

If anyone’s interested in learning more about Challenging vs Punishing games, feel free to take a look at http://penny-arcade.com/patv/episode/when-difficult-is-fun :p I found it quite enlightening. Queen’s Gauntlet arguably sins at a few points, but succeeds at a fair few as well.

Still working on Liandri at least, ~20% or so was my best attempt. Here’s hoping I can be bothered farming more tickets for another night of bashing my head against her. :p

It’s not a matter of I can’t beat her. It’s a matter of small things building up a disdain for the entire event. Further more, I’m not the only person having issues with ‘sight’ on this event, so it is an issue that needs addressing.

Again, punishing mechanics do not add to the challenge. If that was the case then every poorly designed video game out there is ‘challenging’.

Punishing mechanics do not add to the challenge of the content. It adds to the frustration of it. It makes something that you should cheer about beating feel more like a chore. Further more, implying that players who are having more difficulty than others to beat the content lack skill is not only rude, but wrong.

The idea of Queen’s Gauntlet was fabulous, but not executed as fabulously. I enjoy Liadri, despite not beating her yet, but the hard to see HAIR THIN rings, the ability to be dodging the 1-hit kill one match then not the next, a camera angle that can and does get me killed, and just having to take the time to wp/repair/pay for the wp/find an open arena gradually drains the fun out of her and does not make me look forward to future content if this is how things will be. If and WHEN she’s beaten, she’ll just be another chore— right next to the meatless achievement with its gray meat on a gray-porous floor and a luck based throw.

Stop complaining and figure out a strategy. It might be hard for that “mutt” to pick up the meat if you throw him around a bit.

Especially when it comes to the meatless achievement. The meat is almost the same color as the cage to me AND it gets thrown closer to the mutt every time.

You really can’t go wrong when naming a Sylvari. For example, my Mesmer Sylvari is named Cerveaza!! Buwahaha! ((Cerveza – Spanish for Beer)) I tried to color theme her to look like a sunset.

Thank you! It’s actually named after my gray tabby Yowler who makes horrible howling noises when he can’t find me . He also likes to steal individually wrapped twinkies from the box, unwrap them, and leave them laying around the house for us to step in.

Yowler. She’s a small, gray tabby thief with big green eyes, tiny fangs, and massive horns (A cute Charr if that’s possible). I’m too lazy to make a back story for her. Just know she makes horrible howling noises when it’s time to go for the throat.
