What I don’t understand is why the T3 servers are tanking. Are the dumb and meaningless rewards really worth this farcical tankfest?

I’d understand tanking for the previous two seasons. 7-9 weeks of getting farmed is usually bad for servers.

However, this tournament is only 4 weeks long. We’ve had stale matchups for far longer than 4 weeks. And this is 4 weeks where the current T3 servers would get a shot at fighting servers they haven’t seen in a loooong time (if ever), without the pressure of having to worry about the PPT game. If I were a diehard WvW’er on a T3 server, I’d absolutely make the push for Gold, considering how short this tournament is.

You will stay in T2 far longer than 4 weeks due to the ratings stabilizing and T3 dropping points due to being matched with T4 and T5 … Getting farmed for at least 1 month of tourney and another month of non-tourney is not something you wish to endure

The basic Necro build is 30/x/0/0/x , most people will put either 25,20 or 10 points in Curses and dump the remainder in SR. The GM trait for Spite allows for either a condition build (dhuumfire) or power (close to death) build to be used.

I personally think that killing low level champions should reward low level loot (this would help with the Silver Doubloon problem, if done correctly). I am not opposed to trains, but I think they should be level appropriate. If you want level 80 loot, hit Frostgorge Sound or Orr.

If they were level appropriate then you would see nobody in low level areas. As it stands there are still players in both Harathi and Queensdale because of the current loot scaling to your level.

What ANet needs to do is to make the other zones equally profitable so players can split between multiple zones and Champ farm.

Because they’re crafting components and not currency. You can’t craft with currencies, so that would actually break every use for them.

But you can craft trinkets with Dungeon tokens.

I was thinking on how to split the zerg.

First you give all Supervisors/Lords a base Righteous Indignation(RI) of 5 minutes.

Once the RI fades, there will be an event circle (like Sentry cap) which slowly increases when more friendly players stand in the circle. It’s tuned so 1 player takes around 1 minute while 5+ players takes 30 seconds. This event when completed will rebuff the Supervisor/Lord with RI.

By doing this you can force players to split and reward them for defending. It becomes strategic to have 1-2 roaming groups constantly refreshing RI on camps and towers. This will penalize the zerg, you can guarantee that unless they split into a forward scout and main force, they will constantly encounter 5 minute RI on everything they try to take.

Right now there is no incentive to split because you guaranteed for RI to fade before your main zerg arrive.

My guild has 500 members, close, we keep on deleting members that haven’t gained achievements after 3 months (which is long enough), except for those who were previously Officer rank.

People quit for many reasons. The first is the Legendary 1 month break, which most people do after they get their first Legendary. Some players leave due to work commitments, having to OT on project work for 3-6 months means they have no time to play. Some leave because they start a new phase of life, be it college, new job, getting married, having a baby …

Others leave due to GW2 merely being a game to tide over boredom until their anticipated game (FFXIV, BF4) comes out.

Some leave due to burn out, they want a fresh slate to start with.

Whatever it is, our guild is still 500 strong since release. Don’t worry so much about why people leave, just accept it is a fact of life that people will come and go, but cherish those times you spent with them.

PPT doesn’t matter to SOS, what matters is WXP. Hence, pick the path of least resistance and stick to it. Does that explain things much?

SM achievement is easy to get compared to trying to get merc camp achievement with hordes of SOS and JQ flooding into them non stop.

One of my favourite hot join modes for pvp was Alterac Valley, I feel that can be done for GW2 in a 20v20 or 30v30 scale with regicide.

I do feel that removing the AOE cap on skills or increasing it to 15 would be a good idea. This allows a small group to hold points against a larger invading force more efficiently without depending on siege too much in open world.

Also the ability for a commander to pack up built siege and redeploy it (give a time limit, say 5 minutes, and limit it to siege he throws down) would be useful in helping smaller pops fight against big zergs.

Quite contradictory, and players won’t fight on newly captured points then. So your defenders are going to be lonely.

One possible solution would be to color code the matches as opposed to direct server vs server. Then rotate the servers assigned to the colors – this way eu servers and na servers can join 1 common match to have that round the clock coverage without the need to transfer.

The individual servers would then be ranked based on their participation of the match along with servers on the most winning colors. This would eliminate 1 server winning because it has all the people. so if x server capped the most points in their color – they get ranked based on that number. Then the top score would simply represent the most active wvw server – as opposed to “the best pvp’rs”

there could be 3 matches going on with 17 servers per color – which brings it to an average of 4.25 servers per color per match.

I came here to post this, but you had already articulated it for me.

Using this system for a League sounds good, you would build a League based on the top 9 servers in NA. By alternating each triplet for a 3v3v3 fight, you would still end up with 7 matches, but every server has a chance to fight on equal footing because you could fill all maps 24/7.

It is not match manipulation. 2v1 is a natural course of events and it will happen again and again. When two big T1 servers clash the 3rd server plays kingmaker, if they choose to focus on either server would you call it trolling or match manipulation?

Let’s say SOS focus on SOR and give either BG or JQ some help, that is not manipulation, that is called “good and fair game”.
